Celtic manager Gordon Strachan says striker Scott McDonald will miss Australia's World Cup qualifier against China after suffering an injury against Gretna
McDonald scored in the 3-0 Scottish Premier League win at Almondvale, but was substituted after 65 minutes.
Strachan said: "We had to take him off because he picked up a calf strain and when you have something like that it doesn't help you to be on a plane for that length of time.”
"He has made a phone call and will not be going."
The news is a further blow to the Socceroos, who are already without Tim Cahill, Mile Sterjovski, Brett Emerton and Josh Kennedy for Wednesday's game in Kunming.
