Yugoslavia routed Latvia 114-78
ISTANBUL (Sept, 6th) - It's raining shots, boys. Yugoslavia routed Latvia in the 3rd quartefinal of Euro2001 in Turkey, but the game was over after the first quarter, ended 37-13 for a fantastic Yugo. 114-78 was the final.
The question is: Who'll stop this incredible team?
Our impression is that Yugo is the best of the tournament, with a great gap between itself and the others: Pesic's team is the favourite for the title.
Peja Stojakovic scored 27 in the 1st half shooting 7/7 from threes.
At the half Yugo leaded 66-40, shooting 14/16 from 3pt and 11/18 from 2pts: an incredible perfomance that crushed Latvia just starting the game.
In the second half Yugo was 80-46 at 25 and the 3rd quarter finished with Pesic's boys over the 90 points with the same, incredible % (91-61, 17/21 from 3) and Milan Gurovic able to support Peja in scorting (20 pts for him).
The 4th quarter was academic: the game finished 114-78.
