Coverage of the EURO 2004 final on CTV, *** and RDS set record ratings with a combined English and French national audience of 1.55 million viewers"
sounds good , but did they broadcast the first rounds ?
Especially on working days ? Do you have any experience of broadcasting Euro 2004 ? Sorry but we germans are loving this sport.

some of them you have to pay like setanta sports, because its a satellite channel but if you have satellite you dont have to worry about watching the games because that channel will cover a lot of the games..... of course germans loves football its the best sport in the world :)

so for Sat Channels you allways have to pay in Canada ? That's interesting
because in Germany it dosen't depend on the way you receive the signal
(sat or cabel) some Channels are scrambled (Pay TV) and some are free.

I'm not sure, because in the meantime i found this, and they are talking
about exclusive ...
TSN and RDS have secured a broadcast and multimedia agreement for the 2008 UEFA European Football Championship.
The deal provides TSN and RDS with exclusive Canadian broadcast rights in English and French, as well as new media rights including broadband, video on mobile devices, video-on-demand and interactive TV.
Under the deal, TSN and RDS will provide multi-platform coverage of all 31 matches of the quadrennial tournament, which features the Top 16 European national soccer teams, including the final on June 29.

Just got this email today from TSN Programming Relations:
In a continuing effort to provide Canadians with the most comprehensive coverage of world class soccer, TSN announced today an agreement with Rogers Sportsnet to jointly televise all 31 games live from EURO 2008, which takes place in Austria and Switzerland from June 7 to 29. All games, as well as pre- and post-game shows, will be available in High Definition.
TSN will televise 16 matches, including one semifinal and the final on June 29, with Sportsnet airing the remaining 15 games. By having the flexibility to utilize both networks’ schedules, viewers will be better served as all games will be aired live and a number of games will be made available via prime time encore broadcasts.
In addition, TSN and Sportsnet have partnered on a joint EURO 2008 website that can be accessed through TSN.ca and Sportsnet.ca, featuring pre- and post-game video reports, stats, results and schedules.
