View Full Version : TSL Week 28: Besiktas vs. Fenerbahce

A derby that will played next Saturday which will have a huge impact on who the TSL Champions will be. A BJK loss will probably kick BJK out of the race for the championship, a draw would benefit GS the most if they win their own game, a win would get FB one step closer to the championship.
BJK have the advantage of playing at home and that we are missing Dievid who has been a huge impact in our derby and european games.
FB will have the advantage of Zico the Derby King and that BJK will miss Bobo. Our strikers are on scoring streaks, we have patience and our left back R.Carlos should be back. We are experienced while they are not. Also thier goalkeeper Rustu got pretty knocked up and even though he might make it to the game he wont be 100%. Both their goalies are weak against shots from afar. H.Arikan has a bad habit of giving up rebounds and Semih and Kezman will make him pay if they get the chance.

Yeah, I feel bad for Kazim. He ended up being a bench-player (if he even gets THAT chance) at FB.

apparently Zico is thinking of playing Kazim to replace David. And that Volkan will get his starting spot back.
I feel like a draw coming on :D

R. Carlos might not play in this match either.
Man, if this guy doesn't play in such a critical match!.......
He should do what Appiah did last season and play through whatever pain he still has after over two weeks of recovery.
Fenerliyim
03-27-2008, 05:26 AM
so that we can lose him for the rest of season and maybe next? i dont think so.

Appiah's not playing cuz his condition could've resulted in death, if I'm not mistaken. He had some coagulation problems, no?
Carlos on the other hand got some kleets to the shin. It's been over 2 weeks already, he's Roberto Carlos; he should toughen up and play on Saturday! :D

agreed. and it seems like the last few games has been lacks...at least with Carlos he provides a spark to the team and he seems to drive them onward
If carlos does not play against BJK, he defenatley needs to play against Chelsea.
He organises your defense quite well because he is able to speak directly to lugano and edu and tell them what do to.

first half was pretty good, beginning Fener dominated and got a goal, then BJK started to attack but they had no good chances but fener got some pretty good ones on counter attacks.
Kazim is playing great, but now hes trying to hard, i'm afraid hes gonna get his 2nd yellow. I feel sorry for Alex the guy cant get to use corners his way thnks to the cops who are blocking the way.

Game shoulda been like 5-2 at least, horrible finishing by kazim and Ali Bilgin.
Anyway BJK should have their stadium closed for 1 game after all those missiles that hit Alex.
Again MoM was Alex de Souza, two great goals by him, woulda had a couple assist if Kazim and Ali could finish.
Man someone has to tell Maldonado to stop trying to slide tackle in the penalty area, freakin gives me a heart attack he goes for the ball.
Ref was also great, real neutral.

o and baki is an embarresment the way he kept tryin to injure Kazim
Kazim is a bad player, Baki is an aggressive player, so i do not blame him at all. plus you need those kinds of things in a derby match. when players make one on one connections like that, it makes it a better game. so i wouldn't go as far as saying he is an embarrassment. but i really think the Besiktas supporters that threw big objects should be punished. i wouldn't expect a ban for the fans, as most of them were in order. and it was a good game overall. Rustu is a bad goalkeeper, Ali Bilgin should not have missed that open goal, Kazim needs to learn how to handle games, he's still young, and placing him a game like this will confuse him, he needed to step up his performance. he could have had many goals and been famous, which could have improved in his development, but because hes slow and young you expect games like these from them. I'm glad Selcuk did not play, and Maldonado is capable of playing. He had mistakes that could have cost us the game, making 4-5 bad decisions in a row, did not help us at all. i must say Serdar from Besiktas is starting to develop into a bigger player, and i will want to see him go onto Europe and play quality football. i think the result was expected, and that is why Besiktas could not control the game. this game could have gone either way, if Fener did not survive the bombardment of shots. good job from Volkan, the goal could have been saved, but i hope he has learned from that. a lot of goals are scored like that in Europe, so i hope it aids us in the coming weeks. i think we improved overall, and i feel we will be a strong force come April 2nd.
Go Fenerbahce!

Great win, but I did not like Fenerbahce players getting beaten to the pulp. (Not literally speaking)
Alex, in the second goal, was actually tackled from behind after making his pass to Semih.. but he managed to get up, run and score. That was.. just outstanding.
Also, what the hell was that with 8 minutes of injury time? I've never seen this happen anywhere, most I saw was 5 minutes and even that felt too long. Strings were being pulled again.. Although, I think if they added any more time it would've been 3-1.
Taking all that into account, and the fact that they were in the championship race.. beating them in their own stadium like this is.. a great feeling. :)
PS: I'm currently uploading a video highlight of the game that includes a good portion of after game interviews as well as Luganos smirky wave at BjK fans. :D

Kazim is a bad player, Baki is an aggressive player, so i do not blame him at all.
Don't kid yourself, and label him as aggressive while he is actually just vindictive. An example of an aggressive player is Lugano, with whom he does not compare. Just from the highlights that I watched (I didn't wake up early enough for the game but did see the last 20 minutes or so), I gathered that Kazim had a great game. I noticed two times (just in the highlights) Baki just rampaged into Kazim without a regard to where the ball is. That is not aggressive, that is simply vindictive for being made looking like a fool earlier.

After Fener got their 1st goal, they didnt try at all, they just relaxed them selves so they wouldnt get injured or be tired for the Chelsea game which has greater importance. Once BJK scored, our team picked it up and scored, we woulda won no matter wat. We chose when to score and when not to.

Yeah about that, what happened was that I got tired of them both not cooperating. One was insisting on changing an avatar, and the other was insisting on keeping it. (Pana went as far as bothering me on MSN about it!) I just got so annoyed by both of them that I had decided to have them go at one another (as I felt like a messenger), and whoever wins.. will help me decide what I should do. :D
I thought it'd be fun to read them bickering with each other about what I consider to be trivial, but oh well.. one of them got too sensitive about the fact that their issue was being discussed publicly..

I don't think he literally meant that we 'choose' when we score, he probably did not know how to express himself properly.
Evidently, as we saw in the game, whenever we needed a goal.. we scored it in less than 15 minutes. First goal in 11 minutes, and after they've leveled in 70th something minute.. we scored another one even faster. What he most likely meant to say was.. that when we needed to score - Besiktas defense could not do anything to stop us.
Not whenever we chose to, but whenever we needed to.

Facts prove otherwise, it's your word against 11th minute goal to go one up. Than again, after conceding in 70th minute, we were able to score 10 minutes after that.
So yeah, I'd go with facts rather than your jealous word.
Controlling the game isn't necessary about holding most of the possession. :fed-up:

How did Fener not control the game? Just because we pull back and wait for the opposition don't mean we don't control the game. We took over all the free balls, we were better in one on ones, we were actually carrying the ball to the wings successfully, and we got scored on on a counter attack, then scored like 10 minutes later, plus missed a wide open shot. We were able to do what we wanted on the pitch, and BJK wasn't, so that means we actually did control the game.
Speaking of that...Alex is a ***king legend. Jumping on the fence after his 2nd goal put the biggest smile on my face.
Alex was so smooth it wasint even funny, the guy controls his emotions so well during the match, but when he scores he lets it all out. Great player to watch.

Yeah the best part of that goal was there were no Besiktas players as far as the camera could see. They must have just watched him score on their asses.
Another great thing about this game was Alex saying "If we agree on the terms with the management I will wear this jersey for years to come." afterwards.
