But i have bad news, if the report on internetspor is correct Carlos will not be available for the game due to his injury. It says there is very little chance he'll make it.

If this is true I believe we are screwed. Ever since his injury we have played the worst football i have ever seen.

I literally have no hope for tuesday.

Although we do have a trend of winning European games if we do bad in the league game before.

actual good refs understand when a high tempered game is played. this is why they ref at these levels, they know how to control the game when it exceeds that limit. lugano's temper was perfectly alrite for that galatasaray match, its too bad the ref doesnt understand a competitive soccer game needs to look the other for some fouls, so it keeps the game's temper up, make it even psycho, so the fans get wild up as well. this is why people go to these games, for the high tempered atmosphere the game will be played at. fenerbahce has done well on away matches, except for the inter. we have beaten four champions already, and now we will beat the former champions of the uefa cup. anderlecht, cska moskva, psv, and inter. i have faith in fenerbahce, we will be the sleeper within the tournament. i just hope we dont end up the jaxx jaguars in the playoffs. and one more thing, go team!

Carlos has been in spain with friends and family, he will most likely in a box watching the game from afar. I don't blame him... Why waste a good spot on the bench, you never know which direction the game will turn, and that when you need a sorted amount of players. yeah it would have been nice for him to be on the bench and yell in spanish, while the other team can comprehend him. or he can chill with his buddies and enjoy the fenerbahce victory.

The key again in this match is the combination between Alex, Devied, Kezman and Aurielo and Gokhan. If these guys can click then Fener should be able to penetrate Sevilla quite well. The first 15 mins of the match will be vital, if Fener can get a goal early they can set up the game quite well.

Lugano and Edu have to be on there best behaviour and best game. Lets face it, they make a great partnership but they also do make some fatal erros, hopefully nothing happens.

Just want to share something with my fellow Fener supporters

I have been a Fener supporter my whole life, and this is the happiest they have ever made me. I will never forget this night. My father, who has also supported them his whole life, and is now almost 60, was screaming so loud and came close to tears when we won it.

Thank you Fener for one of the greatest nights I have ever spent with my Father. We hugged and jumped around. I will now have a couple of Whisky's (for the first time) with him to celebrate.

ive never been so confident about a penalty decision in my life that fener would make a bunch of Arif Erdem shots over the bar and a volkan just laying down, but they proved wrong!

The Edu situation is really getting on my nerves 3 own goals and a crucial penalty missed ?!!?

Im really getting frustrated at watching Volkan but he did well for once in the penalties especially after 2 of those goals they conceeded, its great to see him get some morale especially with the euro around the corner and he has shown improvement and a more calm style in the last 2-3 national team matches, he really lived up to his name in the penalties Volkan IRONHAND :D

btw do we get any UEFA points when we lose the match after 90 minutes? anyway i was happy fener just made it thru the group and didnt think they could go thru today especially when sevilla won their last homematch against Zaragoza with 5-0, is there anyway u can get these 2 matches on the net ?, i would love to get hold of all their CL matches from this year u guys have to avenge us for Leverkusen. i think i just pissed myself....!!!! i had to leave the game for tennis practice at 2:30 at halftime. So i was thinking for sure this game was over. I mean come on 3-1 at halftime away from home. Sure it only takes 1 goal but i dont believe we got it and held them scoreless.

Palop - 6: Had a leaky defence in front of him when it came to set-pieces, where the two goals were conceded. Made a few crucial interceptions during the game but will be disappointed to be overshadowed by his opposite number in the shootout.

Alves - 8.0: Absolutely unstoppable in attack, but caught out of position in defence on numerous occasions. But ultimately, it was his contributions upfront that led to the regulation-time win. Will be disappointed with the shootout miss.

Dragutinovic – 6.5: Kept his countryman Mateja Kežman at bay throughout the game and generally very strong at the back. But was hapless when it came to defending set-pieces.

Escudé - 6.0: Played the perfect side-kick to Dragutinovic, cleaning up in places where his teammate left gaps. But likewise, poor marking allowed the opposition to capitalize in set-pieces.

Adriano - 6.0: Solid at the back but his lack of pace allowed the opposition to exploit down that flank. Didn’t contribute too much in attack either.

Navas - 6.5: Had a fairly quiet game by his standards, but was still effective and menacing with his runs to give Fener a few scares.

Poulsen - 7.0: Made a crucial clearance right at the end of the first half. Almost deployed as a fifth defender in the second half and fit the role perfectly.

Keita - 7.0: Scored a delightful goal, one of the best of the tournament, but had a decent, quiet run in midfield. Couldn’t help out in attack when his side were pushing for the fourth goal.

Capel - 8.0: Simply menacing down the left flank and caused all kinds of headaches for any Fener player who dared take him on. A shame that not too much came from his marauding runs down the left flank.

Fabiano - 6.0: Surprisingly failed to get on the scoresheet despite having a few half-chances. Will be disappointed not to be able to get involved in the shootout after being substituted just before the opponents scored the pivotal second goal.

Kanouté - 6.5: May have scored a goal but never really threatened the Fener goal too much otherwise.

Substitutes:

Renato - 6.0: Had a few chances to win the game for his side but looked rusty in the 15 minutes he was on the pitch.

Maresca - 5.5: Was brought on to add strength to the midfield as Sevilla went in search for the winner in extra time. Did what he was supposed to do.

FENERBAHÇE

Volkan - 7.5: Had to be held responsible for the first two goals due to his poor positioning and anticipation. More than redeemed himself with three brilliant saves in the shootout. Would have had a much higher rating if not for the two mistakes.

Gökhan - 5.0: Was run ragged by the rampant Sevilla attack, especially Capel. Lucky to remain on the pitch for the entirety of the game, considering the number of fouls he committed.

Lugano - 6.0: Looked extremely shaky at the back and not too assured upfront either when he attack during set-pieces. Still, managed to put in a few crucial tackles.

Edu - 6.5: Went about his job at the back with minimal fuss and errors. Was the only to miss from the spot in the shootout but will be relieved his goalkeeper made up for it.

Vederson - 6.5: Had an intriguing battle with Navas. Won some, lost some but did enough to hold his own and disrupt a few of Sevilla’s build ups.

Deivid - 8.0: His two crucial strikes sent the game into the all important extra time, and then to the shoot-out where his side prevailed.

Aurélio - 6.5: Couldn’t do much to contain the Sevilla juggernaut in the first half but played his part in the second to help out in attack and put pressure on the home defence.

Selçuk - 6.0: His miscommunication with Lugano led to the foul, which led to the early opening goal and that undoubtedly allowed Sevilla to settle their nerves and play their normal game.

Boral - 7.5: Was the link between defence and offence. Helped out in defence when needed and initiated almost every attack in the second half. An exciting home grown talent to keep an eye on for the rest of the tournament.

Alex - 8.5: Stepped up to the plate and was the only Fener player to play his usual game as his teammates were overwhelmed by the occasion in the first half. Constantly caused panic with his set-piece deliveries.

Kežman – 5.0: Looked cumbersome alone upfront and barely had a sniff at goal. Had to resort to a few elbows to win balls and challenges. Did, however, score the crucial third penalty for his side.

Substitutes:

Semih Sentürk - 5.0: Couldn’t pull off his super-sub heroics from the first leg. Was largely anonymous after coming on midway through the second half.

Fenerbahce, who.. just a few seasons ago were barely taking any points in CL.. are in the quarter finals of the same tournament! What an improvement!

PS: I'm reading the comments at various websites of the game, and GS fans are saying that the referee was bribed and stuff. How pathetic can they get man!?

They got no character at all. I was very happy when Galatasaray won the UEFA Cup, honestly. The whole Country should be proud. I watched the game with an English commentary, and they were referring to Fenerbahce as Turks.


Oh well, I pitty them.


PS: I just watched the penalties again, and when Volkan saved the last penalty.. I felt as if I was in that field with them. My eyes got all teary..

Just saw the game (Thank you Fenerliyim - eline saglik :D).
I saw the results live while i was at work and i couldnt share my joy with anyone (the forum is blocked from the work pc :mad2:).
Volkan had the worst keeping performance with those goals but he more than redeemed himself with the penalties - a dream recovery.

I am so proud of the team pulling out of such a disaster start.

Well the time has come for me to make a comment. Where do i start?

Perhaps i should start by saying that was a very nervy beginning to the game, you could tell Fenerbahce were excited, nervous and anxious. But they stumbled for the first 15 mins of the match to get into form. Yes Volkan's positioning in both goals were a real question-mark but, seriously would you be able to save those goals? They both had equal distance, power and accuracy, heck one of those shots bent this way and that way like a mofo!

After heading in the direction of 2-0 down, i thought damn thats it, there is no way back on Sevilla turf, but Devied managed to get one back, and boy was that a goal or what? How the heck did he get that thing to go through all those players and into the back of the net, around 3 Fenerbahce players dodged that ball like it was on fire to allow it to go in :lol:

Then Kanoute had to spoil all the fun and score a soft but accurate goal and i really thought it was all over, until (possible man of the match) devid stepped up and delivered again. When he scored that goal i bet 99.99% of Fenerlis or turks watching the match jumped up, kissed the tv screen or kissed a relative in the face and said ARSLANIM BEEEE OLLLEEE!!! :lol:

Then came all the waiting for extra time and penalties, i bet everyones hearts were racing and about the pop out. Volkan went from zero to hero with those 3 saves and put on a brave performance aswell. Bad luck to Edu, this guy seems to have so much bad luck lately but this is football what can you do?

The celebrations at the end were priceless, even as a Galatasaray fan i am proud to say HELAL OLSUN. I have supported you guys throughout the tournament and i sure as hell wont stop here, even if you go on and when the GOD DAMN thing. Great work!

I don't think it is possible in any way that you can win CL. However, i do think you could get past next round with another strong home performance. I think Liverpool will win over Inter. You can def beat Liverpool over 2 legs. Avoid Arsenal and Man Utd though.

dude fenerbahce is going to win the championship, man utd is probably one of the strongest teams left. i really dont think arsenal will go any further due to the lack of experience. i think fenerbahce's chances are slim, but i think they have a better chance than many teams left. but i would like to see a final between fenerbahce vs. manchester, i think both of these teams have some what of a grudge.
