Its been a horrible game, eduardo is injured now and we conceded a goal which really we cudnt stop, nice free kick goal from mcfadden. i hope we can switch up the style in the 2nd half.

birmingham are really fighting for this win.

I think Arsenal have been affected by the Eduardo injury. McFadden scored a nice goal and probably could have had another on the break - but that would have been harsh on the Gunners. Birmingham have already played over 40 minutes with 10 men and in another 45 they'll be shattered so Arsenal will get opportunities - its just if they can take them...

Just as I posted Arsenal took their chance . A corner wasn't cleared and Walcott scored his first league goal. Andy Gray thinks there was a foul on the keeper but I'm not sure. Although, considering how much protection keepers get nowadays most refs would probably have given a freekick. Arsenal are really battering the Blues now and I'll go final score Birmingham 1-3 Arsenal.

your too quick to knock arsenal, but dont worry, your not the only one. this is much better from arsenal. come out playing with real purpose.

nice little finish from walcott. good to see him get his 1st prem goal.

Its finished 2-2 :faint2: McFadden scores his and Birmingham's second of the game with a 94th minute penalty. Arsenal will be gutted but you've got to give credit to Birmingham - 87 minutes with 10 men and a point against the league leaders. And what did you think of Gallas' reaction Paul?

Gunner
02-23-2008, 02:58 PM
how undeserved. why give birmingham a damn point? they aint even got a chance at the title.

gallas is a passionate player. he had every right to be pissed off, we should have had the 3 points today.

CambriaFan
02-23-2008, 03:05 PM
^ Yeah - fair enough he's passionate but what if Almunia had saved it and Gallas is away throwing a tantrum kicking boards? What if it had come back out and Arsenal couldn't clear it cause they were a defender down? I mean he's the captain...he should be setting an example...

Gunner

good point, but to lose the lead like that after working so hard to come back is just horrible to take

That picture is nothing. Want to see even more sicker??

Watch this:

http://img132.imageshack.us/img132/8382/eduardo2ga3.jpg

by the way... that's not his foot coming off his boot... that's his bone piercing through the skin. His foot was half cut off of his ankle. We were lucky not to see his foot come off his leg during that tackle. That's what EPL is all about. Only physical idiots that make dramatic fouls of talented players (Cristiano Ronaldo, Eduardo, Henry, Van Persie) and it's usually a Welsh, Scot, Irish, or English that does it. They need to play cleaner and more technical football like the Italian, Spanish, and Germans. Dirty football.... :fangs:

Nice performance by Walcott by the way...

you stupid twat, the epl doesnt aim to break peoples legs! we use a lot of using your body weight and strength to muscle people off the ball, not dive into their legs and break them, thats just violent.

some coaches talk their players into injuring players like Ronaldo so he won't play the rest of the game. it was a controversy and I read 5 pages of it in a football magazine about a half year ago

I watched the whole game. No way was it intentional. The Birmingham player got done for pace. Wenger and Gallas need to stop crying. Man Utd got the job done. :smoking:

with the exception of giving away the penalty, I think Clichy was one of Arsenal's best players in this game.

he and Hleb were involved in every Arsenal attack.

I give credit to Birmingham, forcing a 2-2 draw with the league leaders and it shows how much of a difference James Mcfadden makes in the team.

Good to see Walcott get off the mark too.

maybe for teams that use that tactic because its the only way they can win a game or league without their own good performances. that would happen all over the world, not just the epl.

This is quite a said u know?...I think is true but not on the premier leagues from all over, no conscious player would do that, the risk is huge just check Taylor situation now, everyone wants him out...and it wasn't even unpurpose.

Yes Rabbit. True man, no pro would set out to do that intentionally.

To be fair I don't believe it was done on purpose but can understand why Wenger was furious after the game. What manager wouldn't be? I really feel for Eduardo. I'm not an Arsneal fan of course but you don't want to see that happen to anyone especially a young lad. Wenger later retracted his comments about banning Taylor. Only Taylor knows for sure what his intention is but it was a one footed challenge and believe he was going for the ball. If he'd jumped in with two feet it would have been different.

It did look like Arsenal had been affected by the incident but still looked on course to win it before the 94th min penalty... that's normally the sort of luck Arsenal get  I don't blame Gallas for his behaviour after the match either he is a passionate player and that is good. The media make too much of these things.
