nah, i was very surprised at this scoreline. i thought it would've been the same old story for england when janker scored. kahn had a nightmare of a game. i fell asleep after owen scored the 4th goal. germany were crap crap crap. about time england !! they'll finish top of the group now because of that game in hand.

i do have to say i didnt not think england had much of a chance going in but owne stepped up big time and england are a very dangerous team now but this wont mean anything if they dont beat albania congrats :thumbsup:

I think England obviously deserves praise, but Germany's present squad actually sucks, big time. Apart from Kahn, the rest are nothing more than dedicated. There is very little talent in what I consider the weakest team in German soccer history.

Of course the british team don't have anything to do with that, they demolished their rivals, and returned with interest the defeat they had suffered at home.

I think Beckham, Owen, Gerrard and Ferdinand were the boys to watch on the night....They were awsome! Owen had 4 chances and scored three....Beckham was spraying passes all over the place...and Gerrard was tackling like there was no tommorrow!

For those who thought the funniest thing had already happened: They were wrong. German newspaper "Bild" has criticized the English media's behavior towards the German 5-1 home defeat. they feel the Brits are going too far in their gloating.

The tabloid "Mirror" had on its cover a selected picture of Oliver Kahn accompanied by a mock "death certificate" for german soccer. The german news called it "a demonstration of typical British nastiness and injustice." This one really cracked me up. :D I can clearly visualize the writer crying. :cry:

The result was Germany's worst in the last 70 years, and everybody expected the German side to be ridiculed by the British press. Or did someone expect sporting and aloof behavior between bitter rivals? Dream on.

The "Bild" reporter proceeded to to say "of course we expected this, as we know English black humor. But they have gone too far!" The German side takes a 5-1 whopping at home, and this guy is mad at the Brits?!? He should be after other hides, IMHO...

"The British", he goes on, "should remember we have won many matches against them. They still celebrate Munich's 5-1, but there are many sports in which Germany is very much better", he finishes, mentioning skiing as one sport where Germany rules.

Oooo, the kids at Germany must be goin' wild about this year's Skiing Championships, huh? And the Brits must be terrified indeed...

Germany doesn't rule skiing, Austria does.........and Slovenian Ski team is better then German team in my opinion.

And what are you talking about, World Cup Skiing is one of the top world sporting events......
