TSL Week 19: G.Antepspor vs. Fenerbahce

On Sunday we play G.Antep at 15:00 turkish time, I know WTF now i have to wake up at 8 to watch it.

We beat them 2:1 with our subs last time at Kadikoy. For this game Aurelio will be out but the good news is Alex is expected to play.

Hopefully we win while sivas and gs lose.

If Alex is playing I don't think we need 2 forwards up front. Especially if Aurelio is out. I can't trust Selcuk that much yet.

I hate putting Kemal on these lineups but there isn't really anyone else. I don't know how Gurhan would play as a DM but I'm sure he couldn't be any worse. Seriously, this guy's been with us for 5 years, and all he has done for the team is throw eggs and flour in birthday celebrations, take the FBTV mic and interview people, give speeches after games he didn't play in, etc. Not an inch of improvement. Been getting paid for the last 5 years with nothing to show for it.

i dno i dont think we need 2 dms for the tsl, i think we need 2 fowards instead.

Maybe 1 DM when that DM is Aurelio, and 2 forwards when we're playing at home. You know how motivated the teams are against us. If we were to take them lightly and go out there with just 1 DM and 2 forwards with our current style, we'd get screwed. We're not the type of team that runs around 90 mins as a unit.

i dno playing with 2 dms hasnt really been wat i call succesful in the past 2 yrs. We barely scrape wins with it.

I think it'd be easier to break anadolu defenses with 2 fowards instead of 1.

But against the bigger teams playing with 2 dms is better

Yea but look at our players. Edu and Lugano barely leave their area, Deivid isn't the type to run around chasing after other players, and neither is Wederson/Ugur. Alex is well, Alex. And Semih/Kezman don't really have the energy to come back to our side of the field to carry on attacks. To be successful with less safety in the back the whole team has to run extra hard. We try to get the job done with verkacs, long passes, wingback forward runs, and attacking mid distributions (I sound like an English speaking Omer Urundul I know :D). I can't see us do the whole 90 minute running as a unit thing.

the reason vederson/carlos partnership has worked so well is because they always cover for each other and help each other.

our right flank not so much but dievid helps.

And Semih and Kezman do a lot of pressuring on the ball anyway. The one thing i do like about Kezman is his hard work.

anyway if we play with 2 fowards we'll easily score more than 2 goals a game. and thats definetly more than wat we'll let in

plus our system is broke, its the reason y we keep tying these mediocre tsl teams

The system was fine and we won our last 5 league games before IBB. We were tying with those teams because we always get back in shape late. In a week or two it should be smooth sailing.

how many of those last 5 games were derbies? they dont count. we win them all the time, our system is perfect for derbies but not for the anadolu teams.

I know he's an LB but he's had his fair share of FK attempts and decent looks at goal during games. At the end of the day, he is THEE Roberto Carlos.

I say he's gonna score against G.Antepspor.

Beat Konya 4-1 (with Alex), Kasimpasa 2-1 (without Alex), Besiktas 2-1 (with Alex), Ankara 4-2 (with Alex), Denizli 1-0 (without Alex), Galatasaray 2-0 (with Alex), Genclerbirligi 2-1 (with Alex), Trabzon 3-2 (with Alex).

In between all this, lost 2-1 to Kayseri without Alex, and got left with 10 men after Edu's non legit red card. This was also an away game.

Before all this we were drawing with random teams because the whole team was just not concentrated on the league at all. The points we lost after we caught the spree, we had no Alex. That's why I'm saying we should only do 4-4-2 when Alex is injured. The team is more used to that formation, and it gives Alex more people that work behind him.

Yeah you're right. Carlos has been subpar with the freekicks since he came. The nice ones end up being somehow blocked by the keeper, the rest either go out or into row Z (FM terminology :D). I'd rather have Alex take all the FKs close to the box, and Carlos take the ones far away.

Honestly i dont expect R.Carlos to score but u know it be nice to see him cross a fk once in a while instead of blasting it to row Z. Seems to me hes forgotten how to take Free Kicks, i havent seen him take a decent Free kick yet

man had to wake up at 8 in the effin morning to watch this. Even though we scored 5 goals i wasnt excited, my head hurt to much from sleep deprivation.

Anyway till Kemal scored the first goal, he ruined almost every attack, anytime he was passed the ball he would either lose it or give a horrible pass but his goal was great.

I feel bad for the Antep goalie, anytime he plays us, he lets in everything.

Volkan was pretty good but i cant say the shots really tested him, haha i loved his acroabtice jump in the air to catch the ball, haha he had nothing better to do except show his jumping ability.

Defense was solid, didnt let much happen.

Alex was Alex, simply amazing with his goals and assists. Deivids second goal was great, reminded my of Tuncay's goal in the uefa cup against sampadoria.

But the most important thing i saw was that the team had motivation, they were out there to destroy antep, u could see it in there eyes. I mean after 2 goals we usually let down and go easy but nope, we got 3, 4, 5 and we could have got even more if we had more time

Good win. But I also felt bad for the Antep keeper, lol.

Crucial game next week. We just gotta keep this momentum going.
