PORTSMOUTH boss Harry Redknapp is ready to give South Korea striker Cho Jae-Jin the chance to solve his transfer window headache.

The 26-year-old is due for a trial with Pompey this week as he looks for a deal until the end of the season - after the collapse of a switch to Newcastle.

Jae-Jin has been capped 29 times by Korea, scoring eight goals, and has been playing for Japanese side Shimizu-S-Pulse, who are willing to let him go.

The Asian star has to prove he could help fill in while some of Pompey's stars are on African Nations Cup duty.

Harry Redknapp could be moving to Newcastle so this transfer could be canceled.

I don't think Harry will move to Newcastle it's an impossible job although he could be attracted by the bumper pay deal and transfer kitty but think he'll stay with Portsmouth. Cpurse if Harry did move then maybe he'd sign the player for Newcastle

eh....Skillwise K-League has been looking somewhat putrid lately. I mean who did Korea's best ('02 WC) players play for? J-League. And yes Im talking about Sun Hong & Myung Bo.
