I can assure he has no relations whatsoever to Bosnia. His father Lennart (a very famous TV-host in Sweden) and his mother Malin is 100% swedish. The name Albin has always been common in Sweden - also amongst ethnic swedes. I see transfermarkt.de claims he has double passport (swedish and bosnian) as well. This is rubbish. The guy is swedish. End of story.

i still dont see why he would have a bosnian passport if he is not bosnian?

I dont know why Transfermarkt.de claims him to be bosnian - because he isnt. Its just total rubbish. Albin Ekdal is more swedish than Volvo and IKEA and he neither is, has ever been or will ever be even the slightest bit bosnian. Neither was Per Albin Hansson (swedish prime minister during world war II), Albin Hagström (swedish musician 1905 - 1952), Albin Edholm (swedish actor) or a hell of a lot of other swedes by the name Albin either.

Albin is a Muslim name in general..it doesn't have to be Bosnian..
Just like Mustafa...
It can be Bosnian Turkish Albanian and many others...

yeah and it's top 20 name in Sweden since 1998 :D
we need to know about his mother
btw Delija I have never heard of Turk or an Albanian with name of Albin - just like Mustafa eh --- I'm not buying that :)
Even if his mom is a second generation Bosnian, that still probably won't make him want to play for BiH.

nobody is talking about him playing anywhere
just trying to find out does he have bosnian roots if he does how ... that's all
saw his name when I was looking how many people with bosnian roots play for Swedish NTs and later heard about his transfer to Juve

Sorry guys, you are all wasting your time on this one. Just let it go. Albin Ekdal is not bosnian. The name Albin is just as swedish as it is muslim - and has been in use for the last 200 years in Sweden. Long before imigration or any influence from other parts of Europe and Asia started.

Hey Sinter, He's Swedish with a Swedish father and mother. (father is a famous TV celeberity)
I read around on a couple of other sites and they are having the same discussion about him being Albanian or Bosnian but the fact is that he's Swedish with no connection what so ever with Albania/Bosnia.
Just keep in mind that all Swedes aren't blue eyed's with blonde hair. I'm a great example of that myself...
