Panathinaikos Arena is the most suitable name.

I don't know when the name will be decided.

Personally I am not sure about the name. I am between Panathinaikos Arena but Georgios Kalafatis too. Since our previous historical stadium was called Apostolos Nikolaidis I believe the other top figure and founder of Panathinaikos must be honored, naming the stadium like this is the less we can do to honor him. Georgios Kalafatis was a great personality for Greek football and sports history in general, and he created our club Panathinaikos when he was 18 years old.

Marfin Investment Group are going to sponsor a part of the construction of the new stadium, and lately they are some rumors about thoughts to name the stadium "Marfin Green Arena".

A sponsor company in the stadium name... I don't know how the supporters are going to take this. Personally I don't have a problem with this IF this name will be kept for a short time in the beginning (3-4 years for example). But if their purpose is to keep this name I strongly disagree with it. It isn't the best for a historical club like Panathinaikos who is related with so many historical personalities (athletes and others) to have a company in the permanent name of the stadium.

Yes. Recently there was a change in the administration of Panathinaikos and Andreas Vgenopoulos one of the new shareholders of Panathinaikos is also a shareholder of "Marfin Investment Group", one of the biggest companies of Greece. This company is offering a sponshorship about the stadium construction with the term to take the stadium's name, and Vgenopoulos is promoting this sponsorship as it looks like.
They are reactions from other shareholders of Panathinaikos though like Pavlos Giannakopoulos who disagrees with the stadium taking a sponsor's name. We'll see what's going to happen....

I hope that they chose a name fitting with the history of Panathinaikos, even if it will cost more to the club.
