Juve sign Swedish starlet

Juventus have agreed a deal with IF Brommapojkarna for young Swedish midfielder Albin Ekdal.

The Under-18 international is seen as one of Scandinavian football’s brightest prospects and was previously a target for Inter.

Ekdal had a trial with Chelsea in 2005 at the age of 15, but he turned down a contract with the Stamford Bridge side to continue his development in Sweden.

It is reported that the Old Lady will pay Ł700,000 and that Ekdal will immediately be sent out on loan when he arrives in June.

“A few details remain to be cleared up, but Albin will stay with us until next spring to graduate,” Brommapojkarna director Ola Danhard stated.

“We are proud of him and happy that he has an opportunity to play for one of Europe’s biggest clubs.”

I agree with what you're saying about the Swedish Media. Albin Ekdal is good for sure but it's far from the hype that the media puts on his shoulders.

It will be interesting to see what will happen for Ekdal in Juve. I believe that he will play for their Primavera team. He's not a guy for Juventus A-Team, There's been rumours which has said that he will be loaned-out to another Seria A-Team but I strongly doubt it..

That's right but the guy was mostly injuried and sick last season (glandular fever).

Albin Ekdal has signed a sick deal with Adidas and earns more money then many of the Swedish NT players.

It's said that he'll be the new Freddie Ljungberg, with his good looks.

Claudio Ranieri about Ekdal:

http://img294.imageshack.us/img294/6406/3447786819kz9.jpg

Amauri was the star of the match with five goals, and Ekdal is already doing well; in the meantime, the next player ready to receive all the correct instructions, Mellberg, has arrived. «I can say I'm pleased – the Manager remarked after the game – most of all because there were no injuries. I feared for Amauri a bit, luckily it's just a cut and he didn't need any stitches. He played as if he's been here forever; in any case goals are always a tonic for a striker. Ekdal did well, he has personality; he really was a pleasant surprise. Now we'll try to make Mellberg and Grygera match-fit as quickly as possible».

Ekdal is with the first team squad profiles on Juventus website. Cool..

It's Ekdal's 19th birthday today. Best wishes Albin
He's been at Juventus only a few weeks and he's already won everybody over despite his very young age. Albin Ekdal is one of the happiest notes of this season so far.

After his excellent performances on the pitch, the Swedish midfielder's new fans' attention deserves to focus on a pleasant personal recurrence for him. Indeed today, Monday July 28, he turns 19 years of age.

All the best birthday wishes to Albin
