What is your job, outside of posting at SFN? :)

If you do have a job, of course, please.. tell us what it is. Don't shy away from going into details about it. Do you like what you do at the moment? If not, if this is your 'getting-thru to get an education' kind of a job, what do you plan on doing in the future?

--

As for me.. I currently work at a company called Stack Metallurgical. I test hardness of metal for various companies there, including Boeing. It's a heat-treating company, that means.. we heat-treat metal parts to get them at the exact hardness level that the customer requires. If the hardness of the metal is not in range, I send it back to be reheat-treated. What I do is very important, for many people and I take great care in it.. If I make a mistake, a plane would most likely fall at some point. If the hardness is not in range of the part(s) I test.. which can be anything from wings to what holds the engine (of course it's broken up in parts in my shop, otherwise it'd be impossible to lift it to put it on the testing machine), it could possibly bend in high speeds (if too soft), or.. crack (if too hard). I really like my job, I like the fact that it's important and also very easy. Very laid back. I take a smoke-break every hour, and my lunch break is usually over an hour. All paid :D

I make a decent amount of money, and this is not what I want to do for the rest of my life. I'm just working here to get myself through school, than I'll see what I want to do. Preferrably something in the medical field.

What about you?

(I apologize for the messy post, I'm just..really bad at explaining stuff. :) )

Football writer? That'd be a cool job. If you live in the States though, forget about it. Nobody is going to read it

How the hell do you plan on doing this?

Was the wage for driving your dad around, $10,000 an hour?

Otherwise, I really don't see how you can just open up a new restaurant with no income. Family funded?

Any job can be boring, it's the way you approach it. I've read some really good
books , watched movies and heard cd's I never would have if I hadn't seen them at the library. It's just another dead end job I usually get.

haha one of the jobs they gave was to check the book stacks and see if any books were out of place and if they were i should reshelve them to its appropiate spot, after that i hated the duey decimal system.

I am a Construction Engineering student at ISU, Americas finest civil and construction engineering program :D One day I will be that guy that builds a skyscraper or maybe a world class football stadium that probably falls over but doesn't kill anybody because nobody comes to such a crap building or stadium...

On the side I work construction jobs on the weekends. Right now I have been remodeling a building with my dad for a year almost. It has 3 store fronts and 2 apartments which should be done soon and I can't even wait for that thing to be done!

Besides that I have been weight lifting pretty seriously here for the last 6 months and I won my first benching competition I ever competed in last week :D (beat 2 guys from my gym, same height, and they each had 12lbs body weight on me woohoo) It takes alot of work for that sport and it really becomes your life when you get serious about it.
