Galatasaray Lucky?

I figure i put this in the fenerbahce thread so that i do not anger any of the galatasaray fans, lol (even though many will probably read this). I am getting very tired of Galatasaray almost always scoring in the 90th minute to steal the 3 points (or in this weeks case 1 point against istanbul bb). Is this just a coincidence or are these games set up? For example against denizlispor last week it was a penalty. I havent seen really any of their games so i cannot say if they are fair goals/penalties, can somebody enlighten me please?

GS has had help in 4-5 games this season but the other key isnt in always helping GS. BJK and Fenerbahce prbly combined have been screwed close to 9-10 games which is y GS is ahead of Fener by 4 points.

But our federation is always corrupt be it ulusoy or bicakci or some other guy, there is always one team that gets help and one that doesnt.

The only sad part is that GS fans reject the fact they are being helped and its the only reason they are first place in the TSL.

Look at their UEFA group, they have 1 win out of 3 games which should all have been easy victories. But people miss the fact that GS winning in the TSL is mainly due to our refs, and when watching GS in Europe u can easily see the looks in their face when they are not getting the help they are used to. The only reason GS even beat Larrissa was do to referee help. They got a dive called a penalty, an offside goal, and scored their only legitimate goal after a player on the opposing team recieved a red card for a wrong call on the penalty.

And on the other hand we have teams like FB and BJK who are "struggling" (among the Big 3) in the TSL, but in Europe this season, their not bad at all (disregard that 8-0 loss by bjk, and that unlucky final-minute porto goal in matchday 1).

GS is "leading" in the TSL, but like Fenerliyim said, look at them in Europe. Can't even beat these boktan teams, or BARELY beat them.

Sadly, it's because of the corruption in our league that I kinda feel bad for "big names" who come and play in the TSL (Carlos, Lincoln, Kezman, Appiah, Lugano, etc....). Poor souls don't know what they're getting into.

Well it's really nothing the fans can do about it. As long as GS fans realize that they are indeed being helped by some "force" there won't be any hard feelings. I can accept when my team is pushed by refs sometimes. Remember the season of handball goals and free freekicks? Well we're not getting them anymore, but I knew they existed back then, and it's another team's turn to get the help now. Although this time it's not even done in subtlety which is the huge difference. I don't think the final minute goals are set up but the fake penalties and freekicks are the gifts of the referees. I mean if you can explain the penalties (now nearing 2 digit numbers) not given to Fener, I'll believe Galata is just lucky. But looking at the ref mistakes for and against them, and looking at the ref mistakes for and against Besiktas and Fenerbahce, there's just no other way it can be explained.

We have a corrupt league. I don't think anyone doubts that.

There was a lot of ref mistakes during the 04 season in favor of Fenerbahce when Bicakci was the head honcho. Aziz Yildirim had a big role in him becoming the president if I remember correctly. Things weren't this obvious, though. It was more of Fenerbahce having more calls in favor and the other teams having standard calls, unlike right now with Galatasaray having more calls in their favor but other teams having less and less calls than standard.

Wrong. You're saying that now just because they didn't have huge ref mistakes happen in their last game (against Rize). They've complained almost every game like these ref mistakes never happened in the Super Lig. And then they got the nerve to blame Fener. We've been complaining about the corruptness even when things went our way. We got/keep getting screwed over with penalties the last 2 years. The amount of penalties uncalled this season alone is going to reach 2 digit numbers soon. Our opponents are allowed to pretty much run over our players with no consequences. Besiktas also got screwed over. Maybe more than us, but they too are complaining. Hell, if nobody was complaining, then we'd be all suspicious of a huge commitment between the 3 teams about the end of this season.

We complain even when we see BjK get screwed over by the refs, we just want a clean league. Is that too much to ask for?

And of course Galatasaray doesn't complain at the moment, hell, they've been being pushed by the refs to win games for the past 2 seasons. Even with the help of the refs, they didn't win the league last season! What does that tell you? (Remember we had only 1 penalty during the whole last season while Galatasaray was winning games with penalties left and right) Besides, the only reason why Gala hasn't lost as many games as we did this season is because of their suspicious run of winning at the last minute, with a penalty, an unseen offside, a faul. Whatever.


Look at this objectively, Fatih. Look at Galatasaray UEFA Cup run, and who they lose against. Look at FB and BjK CL runs, and who we win against? It's obvious that something is wrong, and we're not going to just sit and watch it all go to hell. You are welcome to, but not us.

Exactly, I mean the last time we played the champions league (2005) we were given a PK vs Milan. Thats 1 penalty in 6 games vs the best of europe. How can you tell me that there is no corruption when we are only given 1 PK in a WHOLE season vs domestic clubs?

Well, as far as i'm concerned, i won't be able to take any Fener complaint on ref favouring after the "hand of God" goal they scored last season i think it was (could of been 1 before)...

Look at all the penalty calls for GS this season compared to that of Fener. Fener are hardly in the box, and if they are, they shoot.
GS are always in the box, but for some reason don't want to shoot :D instead, they eventually get fouled.

Well you pissed me off with the way your responses were shaped in this thread. One minute you're telling us that we should stop complaining (in other words you're telling US that we should shut up) and than the next minute that you agree with the fact that it's a corrupt league. It doesn't make sense. If you want to talk about the topic, you are welcome to. Any unbiased person who watches the TSL knows our league is rigged. If u dont wanna believe it then look at European competition, Fenerbahce gets to the Last 16 while gs is barely able to get 3 points but yet gs seem to go undefeated in the TSL?

Lets compare Fener and GS

GS has gotten more penalties this half of the season then Fener has gotten in the past 2.5 yrs ulusoy came to power. That means something. Every week there are about 2-3 penalty positions in Fener games but only maybe 3 out of 50 have been called while gs have gotten like 25/50 of their positions called.

And dont even get me started on the 5 meter offside goals during the 90 + x minute by the likes of servet and others.

A team can't win the league title solely by luck, and if GS doesn't get it's shit together they're going to slowly drop, so I'm not worried as long as they don't start playing better football than Fener. But if they do improve their game, then I'll start getting worried. The 5th week people started erasing Fener off the title run, saying GS won it all already. Look at the table now:

Galatasaray - 16 - 10 - 5 - 1 - 29 - 12 - 17 - 35
Sivasspor - 16 - 11 - 1 - 4 - 26 - 13 - 13 - 34
Fenerbahçe - 16 - 10 - 4 - 2 - 27 - 15 - 12 - 34

At one point we were like 8-9 points behind. When we started playing better, we started getting points regardless. We still have a chance to finish 1st before the break. I believe we play better football and we're going to get the rewards of that later on in the season.

anyway i'm unhappy the winter break is here, we always do bad after breaks for the first month

The standings look at the whole season's average if the 2 teams haven't played home and away. So for now the standings are right. If this was the end of the season, we'd be in 2nd place.
