On Tuesday Fenerbahce will play one of the biggest games in its 100 year history. Fenerbahce will qualify for the Round of 16 on Tuesday if we either beat Inter or PSV loses points in Moscow.

Zico after today's 4-2 win said that only Lugano out of the players who didnt play today do to injury can feature in the game on Tuesday as of now.

Gokhan Gonul, Kezman and Deniz are all injured. But you never know with Gokhan he might heal quickly.

What the hell? Are you guys serious? We lose one game (yes, our first loss) and you all lose hope? We play CSKA at HOME. Our chances of qualifying are in our hands. We don't need PSV to lose, we can just go through by beating CSKA. Yes, we played bad today, but look at the rest of the teams qualifying. Only Porto, Chelsea, Madrid, Barcelona, and Man U are unbeaten so far, and that's out of 16 spots going through. The first 3 of those 5 teams haven't even played their 5th match yet. We were unbeaten till now, and this was bound to happen sooner or later. It's better that it happened now then later, actually. At least we know our weaknesses better before the group stage is over.

Chances are PSV is going to beat Inter at home because we can safely assume Inter is not going to put much effort into the last game, considering Mancini told his players to get yellow cards by the end of the game. Then again, PSV is horrible (CSKA played better and lost because of a retarded goal) and they are going to have to work really hard for the points.

We, on the other hand, are going to play against CSKA, the team we could have easily beaten in Russia if it wasn't for Edu's mistakes. Now they're coming to us, and even though anything can happen in football, I just don't see us not winning.

Anyway, I don't at all think our hopes of the round of 16 are over. We still have an advantage. We're just not gonna finish first like we all hoped.

About this game...

First of all, Deivid should be made Gokhan's servant for a month, because he left Gokhan the entire right wing, and Gokhan did his best to stop Inter all by himself. Second, Selcuk is not a player who should be playing in Fener. He would be more successful in a club like Kasimpasa. Seriously, he's not getting better, he's just getting worse. Deniz isn't the best DM around, but at least he's able to keep up with Aurelio.

Third, Wederson's been on a decline, and hopefully this was the game that got him focused. We couldn't see the swift left wing-play because Carlos was forced to go up and down all match. At least Wederson helped out in the defense unlike Deivid, though.

And Carlos...yes, he could have done something to stop Ibra, but somehow, he didn't. He wasn't up his previous performances at all, but I don't agree with the "he is getting old" idea. He was one of the players who made the attempt to play offensively unlike Wederson, Deivid (who did neither), Alex (who did nothing except 2 shots on goal) and of course, Selcuk. I still think we expect too much from Carlos. He's not a game winner. He's a LB. Yes, the 2nd goal was partially his fault, but he at least kept his cool and tried to bring the team forward.

Alex played waaay below my expectations. The English commentator kept saying Alex wasn't around much and I kept thinking Alex would score and shut him up but it didn't happen. He had like 2 shots on goal, one just missed, the other saved by Gomes. Other than that he was just not enough to break the Inter defense, which was unbelievably good. I mean at one point I stopped watching the ball and just looked at how the defense took positions and it was amazing. There was absolutely no way any sort of danger could have been produced. I think this was like the last 20 minutes. Well, when Semih got out, there was nobody trying to cut into the box anyway, so crossing the ball would be pointless.

Zico for some reason took Aurelio out, which I thought was because Aurelio was too tired with all the full 90 mins he had to play the past 2 weeks. I didn't think Selcuk played any better, but Zico thought Appiah could fill his shoes but of course it didn't happen. I don't know why but Appiah isn't even 1/4 as good as last year's Appiah. With him and Selcuk in the middle, Inter had no trouble ripping through the midfield.

Edu and Lugano couldn't keep up with the quick Inter attacks, and they kept making positioning mistakes which somehow didn't cost us a goal til the second half. I don't think Volkan could have done much to stop any of the goals from happening.

Overall, it was the worst CL performance I've seen from Fener in a while, and since we've been so good the last 6 games, it's normal that people are disappointed I guess. Just don't think it's all over yet. We're still in 2nd place with 1 home game, and 1 point from PSV.

Think about it like this: We were bound to lose at least once, right? Would you rather lose at home to CSKA or a team we have to verse in the round of 16, or against the toughest team in the group in an away match?

Since we're going to finish 2nd, we're going to face one of these teams:
Real Madrid
Milan
Barcelona
Manchester United

These are the ones pretty much guaranteed to finish first in their groups. These might finish first, depending on the end of matchday 5 and 6:
Arsenal/Sevilla
Chelsea/Rosenborg
Porto/Marseille


The last 6 mentioned are all teams that lost points to teams weaker than themselves in this group, and are all teams that we can actually end up playing with. I'd rather play with Marseille or Rosenborg, but I wouldn't be too upset if we pulled out Porto. The rest are teams I'm scared of because they're either British teams or just teams in top shape (i.e. Sevilla). I'd rather verse Man U than Sevilla to be honest...

Apparently a lawyer from Izmir has filed a complaint against Inter to UEFA stating that although Inter's normal colors are Black and Blue they wore a red crossed jersey on tuesday night, and he claims its the same as the one worn during the crusades. And Inter did this with racist intentions to make this a christianity vs islam thing. And he is asking for uefa to erase inters points and punish them accordingly.
