RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil (AP) -- Arrested on a charge of theft, a teenage girl was locked up in an Amazon jail for weeks with 21 men who would only let her eat in return for sex.

The 15-year-old performed sex with inmates while officials did nothing, until the story erupted in the national media and outraged Brazilians demanded her transfer.

"Throwing a 15 year-old girl into a cell with 20 men was a heinous and intolerable act," Brazilian Bar Association President Cezar Britto said in an interview.

"It is a serious case of criminal negligence against women, who in Brazil continue to be victims of prejudice."

The girl said she was required to have sex with at least two inmates, police press officer Walrimar Santos said

I don't know which is worse the 15-30% worthless people who did the act or the authority that did nothing to stop it. Just like the story said the jail officials did nothing, until the story erupted in the national media and outraged Brazilians demanded her transfer. Unbelievable!!!

Stuff like this happens in all four corners of the Earth, and all the time. I'm not saying this is right or anything, but she should be happy she is still alive. Most of the time when something like this happens, in order to keep it quiet; they kill the girl.

I'm not saying ignore it, but it seems like a lot of people here are either shell-shocked or exaggurating their emotions towards this. And if they are shell-shocked.. they must be very naive. No offense.

I actually think that the guards and operators of the jail should be punished a lot more than the inmates. Hell, I know if I was in jail and they offered me a girl.. I'd be happier than a little fat boy with a candy.

It's not inmates fault. I wouldn't blame them, I'd blame the guards, the jail owner. The government, and eventually.. the society.

Basically my point is, it's a messed up World. Get used to it.

Im actually not surprised at all.. These things happen all the time. This is a terrible world we live in.. A country without a revolution every 100 years is a country that doesent care about its freedom!!!! The whole world needs a revolution. We are all ruining The place that we call home..
