Now let's start with our class Common sense 101.
Today we are gonna talk about the simple(not to say stupid) difference between America, and United States of America :)

Lesson nº 1: The 4 Continents
In the world there are 3 continents, also knows as America and Europe...(hehe)

Lesson nº 2: America, a continent
This is America

And like the song says, this heaven on earth (?), is a very large Continent formed by 36 countries(or so called countries) all divided in 3 regions:

North America: If u pay attention, u'll see that in this particular part of America are 3 coutries, Canada, United States and Mexico

Now let's go to Central America: A very messed up region conformed by 21 countries; Antigua & Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belice, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominica, El Salvador, Granada, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Jamaica, Nicaragua ,Panama, Puerto Rico, Republica Dominicana, San Cristóbal & Nevis, Santa Lucía, San Vicente & las Granadinas, Trinidad & Tobago

And let's check the zone were football is not only a game but a passion. South America where we'll find 12 countries; Argentina, Bolivia, Brasil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Surinam, Uruguay, Venezuela.

This are the 3 regions that built the famous continent called America.

Lesson nº 3: United States of America

Now, many moons ago, the United States citizens needed a nationalization, so for the first time in their history they thought and thought, till some genius(or lazy) said: 'We live in the american continent so why not to be Americans!'
And thats how the word "americans" became their nationalization and nothing but their nationalization.

Lesson nº 4: What we've learned
...Ok, so class, what have we learned today at common sense 101??

That United States is part of the American continent, and their nationalization is "americans", but their country's name is not America.
And that America is a continent and not a country :)

So let's repeat before we go:
America-> A continent
United States of America-> A country
Americans-> United states citizens nationalization
