IFK Göteborg won today with 2-0 against Trelleborgs FF in the last game of the season and secured the championship title infront of 45.000 people.

Congrats IFK Göteborg and good luck in Europe next season!

I really hope that IFK can do something in Europe next season, I guess it all depends on which players they get to keep and which they can get in.

From what I read Håkan Mild went over to Iceland to persuade initiated people that he should stay for yet another season. We are awaiting the results of that quest by Håkan. But offcoarse he will leave if he gets a fat contract from a bigger club. But i guess he will be forever thankfull towards ifk for getting this opportunity to shine in Europe. And yes he´s been glorious this season.:)

Yeah he sure has been glorious this season. I heard that Roma was interested in signing him. I really hope that the guy stays with IFK, they need him when they are going to play in Europe.

I read that you guys have signed Nicklas Carlsson from AIK. What's your thoughts on that signing?

My thoughts on this player is that he is a good solid signing. Far from spectacular (except that he´s from aik). He is in Sweden widely seen as a solid central midfielder. One of the better ones defensively. Ofensively, he´s not as impressive. The aik-supporters I know tells me that he was very popular amongst their fans. They rank him top three in position defensively. But I was told they didn´t give him a new contract because they didn´t feel he was good enough in the passing game. Aik wants to start their play from back in defense and they want their defenders to have good technique and passing abilities.
I think these assecements about him are correct from what Iv´e seen of him. His infamous man-to-man marking on Anders Svensson in Elfsborg are a classic. He has a strong caracter and he´s a fantastic team-player. I think he will float nicely into the ifk-collective. We just have to develope his passing-skills somewhat and he will show to be a really good signing in the end. His contract at Aik ran out, wich meant we didn´t pay any transfer-money.

Yeah Carlsson's man to man marking on A.Svensson is a classic. Svensson almost cried after the game :lol:

It will be interesting to see what he can do with Blåvitt :)
