I'm very satisfied with the score, it was as I predicted. Well, I mean I was hoping for a draw because I knew the win would be out of the question. However, that doesn't mean we didn't get close to it. We could've gotten a win, if only for the red card which I might say was ridicilously undeserved. So, one point with 10 men is exactly as Fry has said, very satisfactory. One point wouldn't be soo good if PSV didn't need it. This point will make it a lot easier to advance. Remember people, we are still the only unbeaten team in the group! :thumbsup:

Addo is alleged to have spat at Fenerbahce forward Semih Senturk in the first half of the match. The matter will be dealt with at UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body meeting in Nyon on Friday. I was just a kid when Fenerbahce beat Bordeaux 3-2 in the mid eightys. It was something to be talked about for almost a year. I also remember Galatasaray beating the powerful PSV EIndhoven 2-0 in Istanbul. PSV had one of my favorite players in their squad Ronald Koeman and his deadly powerful long range shots.

That win was also remembered for months to come. Because Galatasaray could have scored more goals against them and if they did PSV would not have become the European Champions that year.

And now I am 37 years old. Fenerbahce has 7 Europeans in their line up and even though they were down to 10 men for 30 minutes in an away match they were still unbeatable..

It is a delight watching Zico the maestro.

We had a difficult match today and we were a bit untidy with our play through to the strikers. The match was also interrupted a lot by fouls and that's why we couldn't achieve the tempo we desired. Especially in these matches, the last pass or the last assist has to be good, but in the attacking areas we weren't good enough although I'm satisfied with the result. Although our qualification chances are still in our own hands, it will be both difficult and exciting until the last round of matches. For the return in Istanbul we will look to attack them more with the extra possibilities that will exist over there. But we know it will be difficult also and we have to make less mistakes. After the red card we tried to create more attacking opportunities but Fenerbahçe have a strong squad and defended really well today. We're in a much stronger group than last year.

We played very well and did a great job in defence. We created some chances and PSV weren't as dangerous down the wings as we thought so we are satisfied with a point. We hope we can continue this type of performance later on in the group stage. Regarding the red card, I respect the decision of the referee but I couldn't see the incident well enough. Our hopes are still within our own hands and we have to continue the good level we showed here tonight. Although it's a very difficult group we feel if we keep playing like this, we'll have the chance to reach the next stage.

AMSTERDAM, Oct 25 (Reuters) - PSV Eindhoven have accepted a four-match ban from UEFA for defender Eric Addo for spitting at an opponent, the Dutch first division club said on Thursday.


Addo spat at Fenerbahce player Semih Senturk during Tuesday's 0-0 Champions League Group G match in Eindhoven.


Referee Howard Webb did not notice the incident but European football's governing body started an investigation based on television pictures.

Addo was charged with committing an act of gross and unsporting conduct by UEFA.

PSV Eindhoven defender Eric Addo has been suspended for four UEFA club competition matches by UEFA's Control and Disciplinary Body after being charged with committing an act of gross unsporting conduct during Tuesday's UEFA Champions League Group G match against Fenerbahçe SK.

Spitting incident
The Control and Disciplinary Body reviewed video footage of the scoreless draw in Eindhoven, and during a break in play due to an injury around 25 minutes in saw an incident involving Addo and Fenerbahçe forward Semih Şentürk, after which Addo spat in the face of his opponent. The referee, Howard Webb, was focusing on the injured player and was unable to see the incident.

No provocation
Spitting at an opponent has always been considered as an act of assault by the UEFA disciplinary bodies, who did not accept that Addo was provoked by the Fenerbahçe player. The Ghanaian will be suspended for the final three matches of the group stage with the remaining one-game suspension to apply either to the first match in the knockout phase or the player’s next UEFA club competition fixture. An appeal may be lodged within three days of the sending of the reasoned decision.

Deivid suspended
Meanwhile, Fenerbahçe striker Deivid has been suspended for the next Group G fixture against PSV in Istanbul on 7 November after being sent off in the 65th minute in Eindhoven for serious foul play. Fenerbahçe asked for the red card to be rescinded but "overlooked the fact that there was physical contact between the two players and the tackle was committed in a reckless manner". The decision is final.

More than likely, it looks like Zico is starting him to play him over Deniz every match now.

I'm dissapointed in Zico for choosing Appiah over Deniz. The Deniz-Aurelio is much better than Appiah-Aurelio. Deniz has proved his worth in many matches this season, he is performing great. No way Appiah can match Deniz in such short time.

I think Deniz makes silly mistakes, and is nowhere near Appis class and determination. Eventhough Appiah was gone for so long, I am glad Zico's giving him a chance against PSV. We need Appiah to get back to his form.

Also, I don't think playing Appiah instead of Deniz against PSV will have a big impact on the end score-line.
