In the U.S. it is optional if you want to or not, but i am pretty sure that if a war was to happen then a lot of Americans would step up to pretect their country..

One of possible scenarios i can see is for example Serbia getting Ratko Mladic (war criminal), and moving him to the Hague.

That way they can buy some time on Kosovo, wich would mean Kosovars would lose their nerves, and start some thing stupid, and on the other hand Serbs would have all right to protect themselfs etc..etc..

Of course it would be bloody war, where Kosovo will become independent no matter what(US support). But by that Serbs would be able to say at least they try something to stop it.

BELGRADE, Serbia - Serbia demanded more talks with ethnic Albanians on the future status of Kosovo, saying Saturday that an independence declaration by the province would be an "experiment with unforeseeable consequences."

Serbia's Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica said in a statement that Serbia backs Russia's calls for more talks, rejecting U.S. and other Western claims that the time for negotiations was over.

"Serbia wants to negotiate to find a political and democratic solution for the province," Kostunica said. "In Europe, the solutions for even much smaller problems than Kosovo are sought through negotiations, and it is unthinkable that someone does not want to negotiate, and instead opts for unilateral solutions."

However, Kosovo's likely new prime minister, Hashim Thaci, on Friday flatly rejected the offer in an interview with The Associated Press, and warned that delays in resolving Kosovo's final status would risk instability.

"The negotiation process is finished," Thaci said. "Now it's time for decision, for clarity ... we need a new start for our country."

After the failure of four months of internationally mediated talks, Kosovo Albanians say they will declare independence - possibly early in 2008. That pits the United States and most European countries, who back the ethnic Albanian quest for independence, against Serbia and its close ally Russia, who are vehemently opposed.

Kostunica said that "the unlawful unilateral proclamation of (Kosovo's) independence represents a dangerous experiment with unforeseeable consequences." He did not elaborate, but there are growing calls among nationalists in Serbia that it should act militarily to prevent Kosovo's secession.

Kosovo is only formally a part of Serbia, since it has been under UN administration since a 1999 NATO air war forced Serbia's military to pull out of the region. Kostunica and other Serbian officials have vowed, however, never to agree to Kosovo independence.

Kostunica offered in the statement that the new round of negotiations could open in Kosovo, and then resume in the Serbian capital, Belgrade.

America is going into huge DEBT!...Their economy is falling so much and so hard..They don't have time to think about war... Thats what got them into this mess in the first place...... Well friend we had Yugoslavia and if they wanted us to live together they wouldn't have split that up. Sure the only excuse we get today is that Serbia wanted a greater Serbia and we were all so scared Serbs wanted to control Yugoslavia so we best split from them. It's kind of funny though, Serbs accepted to live with the people and we all thrived together with the people who massacred 800,000 of us in real Nazi camps. We never forced our religion upon anybody and everybody had a fair share at life.

What was the end result? When Slovenia split most of Juga was against it and the JNA went to war against them. Than like hipocrites Croats went their way and split and than Bosniaks were talked into splitting. Everything that followed was a mess and unfortunate to say the least. What are we than left with today? We are left with nothing but a greater Bosniak state, and I don't think you or I wanted that except a small minority and the West.

After the outrage of the war the whole issue seems to be pointing back at the war. Its like the people are accusing the the issue with incidents that happened during the issue. Clearly you can't start a problem if you don't have a issue in the first place, but all of that common sense is out of the window now and we have forgotten the big picture.

Sad thing is, I don't really give a shit what the place where I live at is called. The ground you sit on right now won't change if on paper the name of the area changes from Yugoslavia to Bosnia and Hercegovina. As long as you can NATURALLY die on the land you were born on and spend a happy life there what more could you want? What does changing the namoe of that area you are standing at do to you? It causes war and it causes millions of us to now be living in a place very far away from home. And all that we lost for that name and that border on the piece of paper is the lives we could have had, our place of birth, our sanity and just about everything but our bodies which a 100,000+ people also lost.

Thats a serious loss for a very small gain.

Artmanova je, takođe, navela da je bivši nemački ministar Joška Fišer početkom 2006. rekao glavnoj tužiteljki tribunala Karli del Ponte da je, prema izveštajnu nemačke tajne službe, informisan da se tadašnji visoki predstavnik u BiH Pedi Ešdaun sreo sa Karadžićem krajem 2004.

Well friend we had Yugoslavia and if they wanted us to live together they wouldn't have split that up. Sure the only excuse we get today is that Serbia wanted a greater Serbia and we were all so scared Serbs wanted to control Yugoslavia so we best split from them. It's kind of funny though, Serbs accepted to live with the people and we all thrived together with the people who massacred 800,000 of us in real Nazi camps. We never forced our religion upon anybody and everybody had a fair share at life.

What was the end result? When Slovenia split most of Juga was against it and the JNA went to war against them. Than like hipocrites Croats went their way and split and than Bosniaks were talked into splitting. Everything that followed was a mess and unfortunate to say the least. What are we than left with today? We are left with nothing but a greater Bosniak state, and I don't think you or I wanted that except a small minority and the West.

After the outrage of the war the whole issue seems to be pointing back at the war. Its like the people are accusing the the issue with incidents that happened during the issue. Clearly you can't start a problem if you don't have a issue in the first place, but all of that common sense is out of the window now and we have forgotten the big picture.

Sad thing is, I don't really give a shit what the place where I live at is called. The ground you sit on right now won't change if on paper the name of the area changes from Yugoslavia to Bosnia and Hercegovina. As long as you can NATURALLY die on the land you were born on and spend a happy life there what more could you want? What does changing the namoe of that area you are standing at do to you? It causes war and it causes millions of us to now be living in a place very far away from home. And all that we lost for that name and that border on the piece of paper is the lives we could have had, our place of birth, our sanity and just about everything but our bodies which a 100,000+ people also lost.

Their method of doing this would be another Holocaust being staged for their opponents and Kosovo would become Auschwitz. You went about solving your "problem" in 99 and we all know what it resulted in (Velika Krusa massacre, Cuska massacre, Podujevo massacre). So removing the Government active in the region would make Kosovars forget the true reality of what happened to them over 8 years ago? Maybe the Serbian masses and government should one day question them selfs 'Perhaps the Albanian based Government in Kosovo isn't triggering all this hate and outrage, maybe its our own actions.' That is the same question Americans, Spaniards, Brits, Israelis, and the French failed to ask them selfs in past and modern history. I may have not said anything good about the Serbian Government and their agenda, but at least I am saying the truth, which for me is more valuable then a bunch of worthless and false "Good remarks". And yes the KLA did break the Richard Holbrooke Ceasefire and I just know that the Serbs will throw these questions at me when responding to this, but if Milosevic had never expelled Albanians from their homes after relocating Serb refugees (From BiH and Croatia) to the region including all of Serbia this problem wouldn't have occurred and the KLA wouldn't have been formed. Nobody really seems aware of this. Its a fact that Albanians were not the most loved people in the region. And as we have seen in Chechnya, Kurdistan, Dagestan and other regions, that can be a problem.

But again Delija, I do not see Kosovo as my problem or the problem of any Bosnian. This is something Serbia itself has to deal with European supervision (Maybe :lol:). As long as this problem doesn't escalate within our borders, Kosovo isn't BiH's responsibility.

The only way to deal with uneducated people is in an irrational way. Why you ask? Kosovo is the biggest drug-dealing section in all of Europe. If Serbia try to tell them something they just ignore. The only way to actually get their attention is by sending military. We have to defend our people in Kosovo because Kosovars are attacking them for no reason. I agree, who cares about Kosovo. Just let them have it. Then, you have to give Republic of Serbia away too. Spain has to give away their little places and as well as Russia. Then in Europe we will have a million little countries such as Andorra and San Marino. If thats what people want then just give it to them. There is no reason to use military force to get your way. 90% of people in Serbia are for the independence of Serbia. They don't want a repeat of 1999. But theres always that 10% of every country whos uneducated nationalists who know nothing about politics want to fight for the pride of their country.. blah blah. We practically sold Kosovo a long time ago to the Albanians. We've made money off of them, now let them have their own little poverty country.
Serbia needs to continue on the right path towards democracy because thats the only way they can fit in with the west. They need to continue their beobuild project, which is comming along fantastically. I can't wait to see what becomes of it.

There is over 1.2 Million Square Meteres of construction going on and over 1.8 Billion Euro invested only in the Delta Projects not to mention all the other ones such as the National Museum, huge farmers market, many business building just take a look at all the projects. You will be amazed. I really can't wait for this summer to go down there and visit. That is the reason I hope everything can remain peacefull and we let the Kosovars have their little state. :)
I also hope every other country in the Balkan starts doing this. Croatia has started and Bosnia have a problem with their Savez, but I hear they oppened up a new skiing center, which is a big tourist attraction. Thats what all the countries in the Balkan need. I know what you mean.. I don't want any controversy..... Just let them take Kosovo.. and end of story... But the Serbs are greedy..Even though I am one.. I have to admit.. We always want more.. So they will try to get Republika Srpska....
