Congratulations to all our players. This is the first time Greece qualifies for a Euro for a second continuous time.
They did many mistakes and they had many bad appearances after Euro 2004, especially in the World cup qualifiers. We blamed them and sweared against them many times, but now they made us stop with performances like the one today :).

Greece played fantastic tonight. Greece dominated in Constantinopolis and had a great attack and a defence. This Greek team is fantastic!! Don't forget Katsouranis and Patsazoglou did not play and we still won the game! Greece absolutley deserved the win tonight and the qualification to EURO 2008!

"We are in the Euro, you are in the couch" as misfits said. This is an expression used often in Greece by supporters of a team participating in a league who want to tease supporters of another team which did not qualify or got eliminated from the league. It isn't finished yet for Turkey though.
Turkey need to win in Norway. the odds are against them but they still have a very good shot of qualifying. If turkey does win in Norway, Ill bet my house Bosnia hands them the game in Turkey...

Great game from the boys.well deserved victory.
That 4-1 defeat to Turkey means nothing now, we have already qualified and they are hanging by a thread..........hopefully Norway can finish them off.
Anyways it doesnt matter Greece is there next year to defend their title.

We'll see if Turks can qualify for another tournament and if Turkey can actually win a cup. But, I still think Turkey will qualify.

Greece's win in Turkey is much bigger when you consider what was at stake. Turkey's win in Greece did not push Greece to the brink of elimination, did not put Greece 7 points behind Turkey, and did not secure a birth into Euro 2008 for Turkey. It was a win and nothing more, divisionally speaking, and talking about "Independence Day" has nothing to do with sports.
Ironically, the win in Greece is what eventually put Turkey in a tailspin and what helped Greece after that. Remember when you Turks were second place and Greece was fourth in WC 2006 qualification and you were saying that Turkey was better even though both matches ended in 0-0 draws and neither qualified for WC 2006?
Well, now, Greece is better. Turkey was better seven months ago winning in Greece, being 3 points ahead of second-place Greece, and winning all matches at the point. First-place Greece is 7 points ahead of third-place Turkey and that makes them better.
Oh, for those of you congratulating Greece for the win yet bring up the "offside" which is a thorn on a rose petal, how about Turkey's win in Greece? Turkey was the better team but Nikopolidis allowed gift goals. Same analogy.
But, I still think Turkey will qualify despite their recent woes...

Read online that Greece and their eventual opponents in Euro 2008 will only play in one city either in Salzburg, Austria or Berne, Switzerland.

Mejuto Gonzalez is one of the best referees in the world this moment and he is recognized. Isolated opinions will not make a difference.
Only a referee of his class would be able to resist whistling in so many theatrical dives by the Turkish players.

Now you come here and complain about things that can't be changed! That is the nature of things! weither Greece was offsides or not if it wasn't for your goalie having a AMAZING game we could have score more goals than the one, so be glad about the final score! I would be more worried about my team's next matches than whine about that one! Also IF I recall urkey has not been playing so well lately so......

That goal wasnt offside. When the ball was played he was onside. For people who dont know the game it was offside. :smoking: :smoking:
