Ahmed Pašalić, direktor svih reprezentativnih selekcija Bosne i Hercegovine obavio je razgovor sa Harisom Medunjaninom, napadačem AZ Alkmara, o eventualnom nastupu za "A" selekciju naše zemlje. Ovu informaciju potvrdila je juče Slavica Pecikoza, portparol N/FS BiH.

Prema njenim riječima, Haris i njegova porodica dali su saglasnost da ovaj nadareni fudbaler zaigra za našu reprezentaciju.

"Selektor Blaž Slišković najavio je da će uskoro otputovati u Holandiju i gledati Medunjanina na djelu. Na taj način ovaj fudbaler postao je kandidat za 'A' reprezentaciju naše zemlje", rekla je Pecikoza.

Medunjanin je potvrdio da je razgovarao s Pašalićem i da je dobio uvjerenje da će se naći na spisku selektora Blaža Sliškovića, već za predstojeći prijateljski meč našeg "A" tima.

"Pričao sam s Pašalićem i rekao mi je da ću poziv dobiti 15. maja, odnosno da ću debitovati već u prvoj utakmici koju bismo trebali igrati krajem maja. Objasnio sam da mi je žalja dres naše držvane reprezentacije i razgovori su bili izuzetno korektni. Ukoliko sve bude kako smo se dogovorili u telefonskom razgovoru, neću putovati u Francusku, gdje sam trebao igrati za Holandiju na turniru 'U-21' reprezentacija u Tulonu", kaže Mudunjanin, koji je potvrdio da nema administrativnih prepreka da zaigra za "A" tim BiH:

"Već sam nosio dres reprezentacije Holandije, ali nisam nastupao ni u jednoj zvaničnoj utakmici njihove mlade reprezentacije."

but did you guys notice how bosna gets really good young future prospects and they get a decision and always something has to come up that makes them join another team... just think about Ibrahimovic, medunjanin and others... that would be a sick team

first he needs to establish himself then he can if his performance has shown and if there is prefrence for him expect to be called up

Well yeah but I am just throwing names that might become something great. What is most important is that we follow these young guys and see what they are made of. Sadly at this moment we have more situations where fans follow future stars then our own Association. Even Fuad is kinda stepping down lately.

I do agree some demand calls ups that really don't have much of a clue. But overall they should be watched carefully.

Thats true however. I agree that really some of them are stupid in making decisions. But really I don't think Tahirovic needs to be in any other team then the A team. he is old enough right now to be amongst Muslimovic, Misimovic, Rahimic and others. Pjanic maybe. I think he should perhaps head out to the U-21 squad and establish himself a bit more. If he does well enough in his first year then he should be given a try at the hardest level. I am still very shocked that Salihovic never got a big opportunity.

Now also i would give those players currently playing for the U-21 team a chance ahead of this guys to show up and show what they can do.

In fact we should call up 5 or 6 guys form the U-21 team and replace people some people form the "A" squad.

well he wanted to play for the netherlands, and now that hes realizing hes not going to make it, now he wants to play for Bosnia, however, it is too late for that now. He was called up by Sliskovic to play but he never showed up! Supposently Sliskovic or the savez called him on his cellhphone and his mother answered saying Haris is at some tournament in France with U21 Netherlands and that was the end of it. Now he wants to play for Bosnia so bad, guess what? touch luck buddy, when you screw around and wanting to play for somebody else and if it doesnt work out dont come crying to Bosnia, it was your own choice, you got called up and didnt show. Now he's going to suffer the consequences for the rest of his life.

Good to hear that Pjanics participation on the U-21 team is sorted out. He has received lot of criticsm in Luxembourg for turning his back on their nationalteam. And with "a lot" I really mean "a LOT". Take a look at:

As for Medunjanin - I think you are rather harsh on the guy. If he wants to play for Bosnia - then let him do so if he is considered good enough. I`ve read interviews in dutch papers where he has claimed that he wants to represent Bosnia when times comes at A-level, but opting for the Netherlands upon til then. Whether this telephone-story is true or not I dont know, and to be honest, I dont care. He might have had his reasons at the time for turning Bosnia down - but if he wants to play now he would be very welcome. "We" are in no position leaving our best players out based on what they did or didnt do in their youth. If doing so the bosnian nationalteam will be going nowhere.

Croatia didnt hesitate to pick Rakitic although he only a year ago said that he only wanted to play for his "homeland" Switzerland for whom he had represented at U-21. And Serbia didnt use it against Zdravko Kuzmanovic when he said the exact same thing. Now they are croat and serb national team players just as good as any. With Medunjanin it would be just the same. Once he ran out for the bosnian nationalteam everything would be forgiven!

Medunjanin has not at any point been considered by Van Basten for the dutch nationalteam. The competition in their midfield is currently way to strong for that. When players like Seedorf, Van Bommel and Landzaat retires from international football Medunjanin is a vital part of the next dutch generation to replace them though. After all, he has been one of their key-players when securing the U-21 european champinship in both 2006 and 2007. The only ones that would look like fools and "fail miserably" would actually be Bosnia for turning him down due to reasons that only could be described as stupid. If you want to I could show you an interview from around 2003 or 2004 where Zlatan Muslimovic said that he wanted to represent Sweden at A-level. Well, he obviously changed his mind and opted for Bosnia instead. Does that mean we should kick him out too?

I thought the rage against the Bosnian Federation amongst others came down to them not picking the best players available, but somehow I must be mistaken since turning your back to Medunjanin due to som telephone-story in his youth gets applauded the very next moment. I expect no complaining from you when he plays for the Netherlands in future European- and World Cups then.

As for Pjanic he would be much better of joining one of the top teams in France before even thinking of signing for clubs like Inter Milan, Juventus, Chelsea or Bayern Munchen. The boy needs to play. Regularly. Not waste his talent far away from a place in the line up at one of europes top teams.

Medunjanin can still represent Bosnia at A-level. His representation for the dutch U-21 team doesnt change that. If i he gets a call up from Marco van Basten to the dutch A-team and accepts it he has burned his bridges to Bosnia though. But so far he hasnt.

i lived through this

he was called up and avoided former coach and didn't even want to talk to him making up various different excuses

we needed him but now he missed his chance, betrayed and embarassed lot of people with his actions

he then was in great form and thought he could play for Holland instead of Bosnia well ok but now he can't fall back here because there are other people that need the chance

he can build his career somewhere else

If he has made himself available for the bosnian nationalteam lately (not that I have noticed he has) it would be because he wants to represent the country. Not to promote his own career like so many players from unknown teams in weaker leagues has done for Bosnia over the last couple of years in an attempt to earn a contract in one of europes better (paid) leagues.

I am never fully sure since I am not him. Nobody is sure. I think there is a chance Kodro gives him a call but Medunjanin is really way off the radar right now.
