Hi. Long time reader, first time poster.
I found this in a fitness forum.
A guy, 22, wants to have sex with a girl who's 16. I'm the dad of a 1 year old daughter. I am worried about her enough as it is, but I cant think of how much I'd worry about this if this was my daughter. I'm angry about this guy doing this, am I right to be angry? What would you do if your daughter was in this situation?

I'm 22, and I had a chance to have sex with a 16 year old. I couldn't do it, I kept remembering how I was like when I was 16. It's a kid. There are all kinds of people out there, pedophiles and perverts, but I believe that if you teach your daughter morals at a young age she won't get mixed up with them.
Do you have a right to be angry? She's not your daughter, but I do understand where you coming from.
You have the right to be angry, we all do. But if what he says in his blog (About 16 being the legal age) is true, then theres not much you can do but worry. It is wrong, and if he has any morals, he will not do it, but it doesn't seem like her age is stopping him. He seemed anxious to get her into bed.
By the way, do you know the girl in any way? Or is his blog something you just found on the internet, and got mad about it?

This situation is really at the mercy of the elder fellow. Male or female. Because that girl's age is pretty mature enough to decide if she wants to have sex or not but the "morality" part of the issue is up to the elder person.
Bosanac is the perfect example. I think what he did was the right thing and everybody should think that way and not be sickos.

you better dress well when you go to Court!

im 21 and my gf is 18 soon to be 19. its 3 years apart, but thats ok. After certain age the age differnece variates its right and wrong line.
I mean if shes a minor there is a problem.
I guess pretty much everything just turns around after ur 17/18. I mean i would see nothingw rong with a 19 year old girl dating a 25 year old guy. and thats an age difference of 6, bnut it sounds alright. and look how bad it sounds if i say its a 12 year old girl with an 18 year old guy, very wrong right?

Well i understand your point of view, but by looking at this guys blog he seems like a pervert, lol. I don't think you have the right to judge just by age.
There are thousands of other factors, and a number can't decide. It might change if it was 30-13, but not 22-16, where ( atleast here in Italy and most of europe ) it's totally legal and people at 16, even if not totally mature, know what they do. Times changed, i can't say in better, but a girl 16 years old now is ways different than a girl 16 years old 6 years ago.
I had a relationship with a girl who was 16 while i was 20, it lasted for like 1 year and half and i have had wonderful moments with her. No pedo, No pervert, nothing of nothing ( she was even taller than me lol ) just a normal ( more than normal to me ) relationship. And my last ex is 25, just to not make you think i go only with young girls lol.
Age in this kind of things doesn't matter, a girl 16 years old can be ready, and law says it too. About " what if i was the dad " you can't do anything, kids grow up, they'll get drunk, they'll have sex, they'll try drugs, they might ***k the first person met in a club etc etc.. that's life.

I think you've got a point of view which is "far" from reality.
In Europe, overall mediterranean countries we settle down very late and we are "mammoni" living with parents for long time.
At example marrying age here usually is from 25 to 40.
In Usa this is very different, students leave home at 18 and it's very common that they'll marry at very young age like 20-22.
I've been to Texas for 2 months, i've also dated an american girl who was 25 and was already divorced and with a 2 years old kid. My texan friends were for the most married too, and they were max 25 years old.
In Usa laws are ways more strict, and a 18 years guy can't have sex with a 17 years old girl. It happened that the cousin of a my friend got arrested for pedo harassament after having sex ( both wanted it.. ) with a girl just 1 year younger !!! This makes no sense..

italianduke, everyone is entitles to their opinions and i believe that its wrong for a 22 year old to date an 16 year old and have sex with her because i was brought up like that and i was taught that with these laws but you cant possibly judge others throughout the world because not every other country has the money, education, food like we have.. so that is the only thing saving them is marrying someone who will support them.. if you go to most parts in the world, you will find that girls at age 16 have more responsibility and start to think what they will do with their lives rather than Canadian/American girls that watch mtv all day and party all night and then drink with guys over the weekends.. however in other places throughout the world, girls as young as 14 are being used as prostitutes which questions me, is that fair.. in china if you give birth to a female, she is basically useless to you and then people pick them up off the streets and use them as prostitutes, thats how life is my friend.. not everone has the perfect life where they go to school, get a good education, find the "love of their life" at age 25 and older.. However everyone has their opinions and way of life even though i find that wrong, but what can you do.. thats the life we are living in...

Here in US.. the legal age is 18. I don't know about Argentina.
Love does have no age, but I think that you can not truly fall in love with somebody who isn't on the same maturity level as you. A 16 or 17 year old girl just can't be as mature as a 22 year old guy in my opinion. I know that girls mature before guys, but.. the difference is usually between 2 and 3 years. Not 5-6, and that is only true for people in early 20s. After that, age really loses it's meaning because after mid 20s, most people are on the same page and can be with people even in their mid 30s.

Well depends what country you are from I suppose because there are different laws for different countries. As I understand it the legal age for having sex in the UK is 16 so therefore there's nothing unlawful about it so upto the person in question. Course I'm the daughter of three and if it was my daughter I'd have the shotgun out and be organising a posse but some girls mature a lot faster than guys.
One of my best friends was 16 when she met her now husband and he was 21 at the time and they're happily married now. She was 13 when she became sexually active (not with him) but it's something that's difficult to control. A lot of girls take the initiative. Can we blame a guy if he's pursued by a younger girl? Also a lot of the time a guy doesn't realise how young the girl is. Even when I was at school a lot of 14/15 yr olds could pass for 18.

Yea it's too easy to generalise and start pointing fingers. For me (in relation to me being a father) it would depend on the guy and how mature my daughter was. I wouldn't necessarily ban any such relationship as long as I thought there was something genuine there and wasn't just some bloke after a bit of young ass. I know my friend, Michelle's, Dad was never happy with the situation and even though they had been together for eight years prior to them getting married (which happened a few months ago) it's only recently her Dad accepted the relationship but Dad's guard their little girls very closely ;)
These cases should be looked at individually rather than bunching all these guys into a Paedo group. Now some 40 yr old trawling the net for 16 yr olds is another matter!

I dont think the age diff is the big the deal here, but the fact that he's 22 and she's 16 and a teenager, and in teen ages (cause we got to admitt thats diff kind of age) 6 years is a lot! who has had a gf or a bf for that long being a teen?? ( well I did but only cuz I was blind :lol: ) If we think about it, most of our parents have that kind of age difference, at least here. ;)
