First Leg :
Basel 2:1 Sarajevo

------------------------------------------------------

we need to pick things up and get back on track
that Milosevic last minute header opened up a bigger chance for us of going through to the next round even though the odds are all against us of doing so

Sarajbahçe
09-30-2007, 05:56 AM
even though i am expecting a tough game and most probably a draw or a loss for us.. i still voted for a FK Sarajevo win and have full faith in them

FK SARAJEVO
10-01-2007, 09:03 PM
tough but it can happen i think Genk was a better team and we beat them.

Sarajbahçe

3 days away from the Basel match
can't wait :D
however i shouldn't get so excited as we are most probably going to lose this game as well

some kind of points would be nice

Even if we win 0-1 I would be beyond happy. We messed up at home too much. 2 goals....not very good.

Sarajbahçe
10-02-2007, 09:37 PM
yeah and plus it could have been even worse but good thing Milosevic has scored the goal that gives us still the slight hope of moving on

Sarajbahçe
10-02-2007, 10:41 PM
i would go like this for this match :

-------------------- #1 Alaim-----------------------

#8 Muharemović #10 Bašić #2 Milošević #3 Hadžić

#21 Bučan #15 Grujic #13 Maksimović #19 Turković

------------- #24 Raščić--------------------------
---------------------------- #16 Mešić---------------

and ofcourse that is if M. Alaim comes back from his injury
if he doesnt then Irfan Fejzić will be our goalie in this match!

Sarajbahçe
10-02-2007, 10:51 PM
basically we will have to play great.. i know that Musemic will leave his team to play 4-5-1 and Rascic up front by himself
but i know that formation won't work as we need 2 goals to go through to the next round because 1:0 win is not enough
Mirza Mesic has been good recently and has had many chances when he came on against Dynamo in Kosevo with his headers
i think Rascic and Mesic should stick up front and give Basel a lot of trouble
we have seen that Basel is a good team and they have proved that as they beat us at home 2:1
but we need to fight and hopefully come out on top like we did against Genk and pray that we make it through to the next round since we need to score as many goals as we can
even though all odds are against us and the chances of us winning are very low

Centarfor9
10-02-2007, 10:52 PM
i have heard Musemic is not going to coach the team tomorrow

Sarajbahçe
10-02-2007, 10:56 PM
you mean the day after tomorrow??
because the Uefa Cup match in on Thursday!
thats why i put on the other threads about how he is suspended
but then our assistant coach will take over then
and he will most likely play Musemic's 4-5-1 formation as Musemic will probably tell him that
but if he was smart he would play a 4-4-2 formation even though we know it would be harder for us as Basel will just pressure and pressure us but we need as many attackers up front as we can to cancel out that 2:1 win
whoever our coach is in this match, he needs to give Mesic and rascic a chance up front in this match

Centarfor9
10-02-2007, 11:09 PM
you mean the day after tomorrow??
yes i ment day after tomorrow :D

Sarajbahçe
10-02-2007, 11:25 PM
ahaha!
imagine how funny it would be if the assistant coach manages to pull off a win against Basel and when Musemic is not there
imagine how fast his ass would get fired!

so i guess Turkovic, Hadzic, Repuh, Alaim, Dzakmic and Babic arent going
which is just bad news for us.. almost all our players are out
next thing you know, Maksimovic, Rascic and Milosevic will be out as well
we cant lose anymore ppl.. this game is important to us and we need to pray for that away win that sends us through to the next round!

Sarajevo coach left behind for Basel tie
Wednesday 3 October 2007
by Fuad Krvavac from Sarajevo

http://www.uefa.com/multimediafiles/photo/competitions/uefacup/597375_mediumsquare.jpg

FK Sarajevo have travelled to Switzerland for their UEFA Cup tie at FC Basel 1893 without coach Husref Musemić after he was suspended for not providing club officials with good enough reasons for his team's poor form.

Winless streak
Musemić was asked to write a report explaining the Bosnia-Herzegovnian champions' run of 55 days without a win in all competitions, which ended with Saturday's 3-0 home defeat of the Premijer Liga's bottom side NK Žepče. Despite that belated success, the coach has been suspended for failing to satisfy the club's directors and Senad Merdanović, Sarajevo's sporting director, has taken temporary charge alongside assistant coach Abdulah Oruč.

Injury list
Sarajevo, who got past Maltese and Belgian opposition before losing to FC Dynamo Kyiv in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round, trail Basel by 2-1 going into Thursday's UEFA Cup first round second-leg match. Their chances of overturning the deficit are hindered by injuries to six players: goalkeeper Muhamed Alaim, Milos Babić, Muhamed Džakmić, Zdravko Šaraba, Senad Repuh and Damir Hadžić. Striker Almir Turković misses the trip because of his fear of flying.

'Still fighting'
Assistant boss Oruč has issued a pre-match rallying cry nonetheless: "We aren't going to surrender before the game is played. We want to do well in Basle and progress in European competition." Sarajevo's recent results have left them in eleventh place in Bosnia-Herzegovina's 16-team top flight, eight points behind leaders FK Modriča.

a blow out
our assistant coach will take over
but this is for the best, because to not win one single game in 55 days is just humiliating.. and he knows it too
but then again going to an AWAY match with no coach and 6 players injured in this match.. lets just pray we dont get killed 5:0

What else was you guys expecting from this game ?

They dont have 7 first team players basicly, and thier manager is suspended (for no reason), they have people inside of their club who work against the team/club.

Our football or country will not be better longest there is corruption and people INSIDE who works against us (the people), the football and everything else.

Basel Move On To The Next Round With An Aggregate Score Of 8-1

----------------------------------------------------------

We should have cancelled this match since like 6 of our starters werent going to play, 6 injured and Turkovic cant go since he was scared of flying even though thats bs and he should have went with the car
so basically we humiliated ourselves in the Uefa Cup even though we went without a coach
this is like the worst moment for Sarajevo
being humiliated like that, they should be ashamed of themselves
if they lost 3:0 or w.e. ok i understand because 6,7 players are out
but losing on Aggregate 8:1 is just embarassing
no comment.. thats all that i will say
something needs to definately change..

FC Basel: Costanzo; Zanni, Majstorovic, Marque, Nakata; Huggel, Caicedo, Frei, Carlitos (46. Degen); Eduardo (72. Burgmeier), Streller (62. Derdiyok)

FK Sarajevo: Fejzić, Milosevic, Zukić (46. Kurto), Muharemović, Bašić, Maksimović, Grujić, Mešić (80. Handžić), Bučan, Raščić, Janjoš (79. Škoro)

it was a good run againts that team from malta and it was good when genk made two mistakes in that one game after that it was everything but good

boris4c

Sarajevo still had an acceptable year in Europe but I think the only games they played exceptionally well were the two games against Genk (apart from the First Round of Qualifying), the first one especially. They haven't won a single game in Europe since that game. Think about it. That matchup against Genk could've gone both ways obviously, and maybe it would've been better for Sarajevo to go out right away (but then, we would be talking about "what could've been") because all the next games only brought total disaster to the team, including a mediocre domestic campaign, the embarassing suspension of Musemic, the hilarious story about that guy who's scared to go in planes, and the list goes on.

People look at the scores today, and they see Basel 6-0 Sarajevo. I don't think this was needed for the team nor Bosnian football in general. In my opinion, Bosnian clubs should've done far more in Europe than what they just did. Siroki was the best representant in my eyes. Zrinjski was lucky to go through even after a 11-1 humiliation. Who knows where Partizan would've been at the moment.

At least Dinamo and Red Star are through. It seems Zvezda will be in the 3rd group for the draw with Getafe, Atletico Madrid, Everton, Fiorentina, Rennes, Hapoel Tel-Aviv. That would be very nice. Dinamo will most likely be in the 5th group.

As for Partizan, they're looking to host AC Milan for a friendly, and even thinking about hosting a "f*ck UEFA" mini-tournament with Legia and Feyenoord. (haha, kidding) :)

he can't do it all by himself - and given the situation in the club and that nobody else is doing anything he can't be expected to drive his car miles and miles away just to give it all he has for who knows many times just to watch his team get destroyed because of other people

you guys should be glad that he came back for yet another year

Turkovic's time is almost up in my opinion. He has been a good player for us over the years but just look at his physical condition.

As for Sarajevo - Basel. Well really wasnt expecting anything from the match but i didnt think wed lose 6-0. We were lucky to get past genk but after that we showed that we werent even close to the european standard.

And does anyone know why Hayat didnt broadcast the match?

Sarajbahçe

yeah Turkovic is almost done with
we need to make some serious changed within this year and before next year
if we are to play in Europe again, we will have to buy players
something is not working at all here

with some of the money we made off champions league, we should really buy a few players

you have to make your own players

look at Zeljo and Celik

those two clubs always have the most players in the youth nts and have players step up each year for the team

while sarajevo relies on old players and players that they can get from lower divisions or other clubs from premijer league

it could have been much worse and basel could have set records if they wanted

here are the 6 players for you sinter :

" Injury list
Sarajevo, who got past Maltese and Belgian opposition before losing to FC Dynamo Kyiv in the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round, trail Basel by 2-1 going into Thursday's UEFA Cup first round second-leg match. Their chances of overturning the deficit are hindered by injuries to six players: goalkeeper Muhamed Alaim, Milos Babić, Muhamed Džakmić, Zdravko Šaraba, Senad Repuh and Damir Hadžić. Striker Almir Turković misses the trip because of his fear of flying. "

every champions league game he would have to go with a Boat to play in other countries

Turkovic played as a sub and Muhamed Alaim didn't even play in the first match. Senad was subbed out in the first game that's how good he was. 9/14 players that played in that game played

Sarajevo had their key guys there

and for the second game they had Kurto, Mesic and Maksimovic who they didn't have for the full game in the first

since when are Babic, Dzamkic and Hadzic the key guys?

you guys should be happy that Basel chose not to score any more goals and took out their best players

^ im sure Basel is that nice to stop scoring goals on us, if they were they would have stopped on the second or third
the goals that were scored were bs goals, they could have easily gone over the bar as well
just what do you expect coming into a game without our FULL TEAM.. even if some played in first or 2nd match it still isnt our FULL TEAM
and our coach wasnt there so i guess they just do w.e. they want out there

you know what they say
1 man can make a lot of difference
take a look at bosna vs moldova in the last game
Misimovic was out and we had most of our starters there
Zajko Zeba is good but he couldnt do anything as close as what Misimovic did for us
Misimovic helped us score so many times with his passing and we couldnt even score 1 goal against Moldova.. sad
so it doesnt matter if you are missing 1 player or 6 or even 10.. its still doesnt mean you have your full team!

dude even with those players the score would be as high

if sarajevo admits they are bad then work on it to correct the mistakes and improve they wouldn't be as bad

Sarajbahçe
10-05-2007, 11:14 PM
yes they were bad.. i agree with that
but you cant possibly think and predict what would have happened if Alaim was in net rather than Fejzic
Genk had so many chances to scare and Alaim saved them
there was a breakaway that could have been easily stopped and Fejzic screwed up.. you cant say that if we had the players in the starting 11 as we did in Belgium that it would be a 6:0 blowout
no one can predict the future

The biggest problem we had is the Musemic suspension. Followed by a bunch of other shit.

^ that is so wrong

you say that in the presence of hz you would be toast - that is just an advice

all fans love him and appreciate what he has done for sarajevo

he has been the hart and soul of the team for years

he is not just scared of flying he is also claustrophobic - you shouldn't poke fun of that it is legit it's not like he is making it up

HZ aint got nothing on schalke fans :p
haha jk, but yeah.. i do agree with you about what Turkovic has done for the club
i have nothing but respect for him.. he is a great player, he is an idol for FK Sarajevo
but it is just funny that he is scared of flying
common if two FK Sarajevo supporters can find it funny then don't get me started about the many other people from all over the world that go on Uefa.com and read about our topics and how we have a player that is afraid to fly
but yah i respect him, he has helped us out against Zepce and throughout the years.. just i wish we could have had him in Kyiv and in Basel but i just find it funny.. thats all!

it's a legit thing - if you had something like that or knew somebody who haxs some kind of phobia you would understand

the fact that he is claustrophobic didn't help the cause

i don't think it's funny but that is probably just me

@ Sinter : i know, i usually dont make people who have fears and stuff like that but in this case its funny, because what else should i be?? depressed? angry? i am just enjoying a laugh or two at bosnia11's comment.. As a Sarajevo fan.. i usually would disagree and back up Sarajevo for whatever reason.. but i dont know about you, but i found that comment pretty funny and so did Saraj.. i am not saying people with phobias is funny, just overall the situation of how bosnia11 said it

yeah but he can't be blamed for not flying to the games since he has that phobia

also blaming him for the losses is ridiculos

for me it's not a big thing - i just think eben if he was there sarajevo would lose

lol sinter, pass me whatever you are smoking.. i gotta try it
the goals were scored by Rascic and Muharemovic
and is this the same place where you got your RESOURCES from that Basel stopped playing and didnt want to score more than 6 goals on Sarajevo, because if it is.. then its way off
because if so, the chances of that ever happening are slim to none.. i mean i probably have a better chance of banging Jessica Simpson than that being true!
