Looks like Greece will be in pot 2 for the next world cup as expected.
Hope we avoid big guys like we did for euro 2008 and wc 2006.
Remember when we were drawn with germany and england for WC2002?!

WCQ Draw November 25, 2007 - Europe 8 groups of 6 and 1 of 5
Top 9 automtically qualify + 8 of 9 2nd palce teams face of 4 vs. 4 for last 4 spots.

These are the latest UEFA coefficients for national teams, which will determine the pots used for drawing the World Cup qualifying groups in November. All the latest results are included.
This is determined by the average number of points from games in Euro 2008 qualifying plus World Cup 2006 qualifying. First tiebreaker is PPG from the most recent competition, then average goal differential.

Italy is seeded first due to their World Cup championship. I'm assuming that Montenegro will be put in the bottom pot like Kazakhstan was in 2006. There will be 9 groups for WCQ, so the first 9 teams will comprise the first pot.

There are only a few more games for each team, so there won't be huge changes from here on out. Still, there's plenty of drama for teams on the verge of moving up or down a pot, especially for that top pot. It looks like there are 6 teams fighting for the last 3 spots in the first pot.

CURRENT POTS

Pot 1: Italy, Germany, Netherlands, Croatia, Sweden, England, Romania, Czech, Poland

I would love Romania or Poland from pot 1 and no one in pot 3 or 4 we shouldnt be able to beat. There are some tough ones like Isreal, Denmark, Switzerald but we should be able to draw away to them and win at home. were looking ok.

If Portugal were to win a few games and Poland lose a few we may play them since Portugal would move up to pot 1.

Well Israel and Switzerland are very tough at home. So I wouldn't say Greece will walk over everything. But I do expect them to take 1st spot and being ahead of the 2nd placed team with like 5 points at the end.

You make the Israelis and Swiss sound like pushovers. Israel have not lost at home in 7 years and that includes big teams. They have been one of the best teams at home and have managed to improve alot by placing themselves in Pot 2. The Swiss should be a Pot 1/Pot 2 team but because they have not played any qualifying matches, they dropped to Pot 3. They have been consistently in major tournaments the last several years and made it to the second round of WC 2006 where they topped their division over eventual finalist France and lost in penalties in the second round to Ukraine.

But, Greece, out of the Pot 1 teams, did get the best possible Pot 2/Pot 3 combo but that doesnt mean it will be a cakewalk. According to Eurobet, Greece is favored to win the division followed by the Swiss. However, Israel could be a surprise. Also, Moldova had a few surprises last time so they might cause a few upsets as well.

You say that like you are so bitter. It wasnt all luck, my bitter Turkish friend. Greece worked hard to be in Pot 1 and reaped the rewards by avoiding the Big Boys. If Turkey had better recent results, they would have been in Pot 1 and would have avoided Spain. But, in fairness, Greece, out of the Pot 1 teams, did get the best Pot 2/Pot 3 combo. But, Israel and the Swiss will not be easy. You being Turkish, when it comes to the Swiss, you know what I'm talking about.

the only reason swiss even qualify is because of Blatter, watch out greece, u've had the refs on ur side a couple times during ECQ but when u play the swiss, they'll just screw u over

Honestly i think Turkey got a pretty easy group as well. I'm just happy we didnt get greece, its kinda getting repetitive now the whole turkey vs. greece. good to have a change in scenery

I personally dont believe that but when Greece and the Swiss play each other we shall see if you are right.
