UCL Matchday 1: Fenerbahce vs. Inter

At home vs inter, i think its gonna be a close one, we play different in Europe these days. Plus Inter have 7 guys out, Burdisso, Maicon ve Cordoba are suspended, and Materazzi, Samuel, Vieira and Chivu are all injured.

So we have a real good chance to start our european campaign with a win. This is the first game Inter has had in Istanbul in a very very long time. So hopefully the atmosphere will affect them a lot

Well judging by the way you have started the season i say this will be a close one aswell, with all those players out for Inter you might have a chance to win. I said somewhere you should win 2-1 at home and im sticking with it. But you cant even beat Rizespor, how can u beat Inter??!

Personally I think inter will win 1-0. Even though they are about to play against one of the most intense atmosphere's in Europe, they are experienced enough to get a victory.

I say 2-1 for Fenerbahce. Inters defense looks bad. With our home game advantage we should be able to beat them IF we play like we did against Anderlecht.

Tough group though, Italian champions, Dutch champions, Russian champions, Turkish champions :P With PSV has a worse team then last season so i think Fener can get atleast a few points from them and finish 3rd.

Yeah he was incredible in that game. I couldn't belive what i saw he was everywhere and did some outer space moves with the ball everytime he had it on his feets. Too bad he couldn't score on that bicicleta at the end, that would've been something to remember.

omg i cant believe our luck, Luis Medina Cantalejo is our ref this guy hates us, 2 years ago he gave luciano and aurelio red cards in the fener vs. schalke match. And last year he was switched from the gs vs liverpool game cause gs complained about him.

and also in 05-06 he gave carlos a wrong red card and called a wrong penalty in the madrid-barca game. man this sucks

Meh the ref doesn't really matter. If he starts acting up we'll let Appiah loose on the field. Always had an image of Appiah eating a referee on the field, dunno why...

As for the game, I've b een waiting for this since the draws. With our horrible league record, but unexplainable concentration in Europe lately, I see us getting at least 1 point. Of course I'm hoping for 3. I wish Kezman would score this game so people would get off his back...

Dude Ibrahimovic is out of this world these days. With Lugano with us we'll either break his leg or break both his legs. Lugano doesn't play. I'm just scared about him getting red carded. It looks inevitable to me.

I have no doubts about Alex, but Kezman...I hope Deivid helps him out. He's gonna need it.

Agreed Lugano has a temper problem, but he has alot of experience both on the world class stage and he has learn alot from International duties aswell with Urugauy. I dont think he has any reason to make stupid tackles. I think he will do well.

There was a stage where Alex became a bit overrated but i think he has passed that stage and now is back on track just the way he was when he started with FB. He is a great playmaker and great goal scorer. He is really smart and talented no doubt.

The problem with Kezman is that he sucks on the big stage. No offense but he does not know what he is doing and then he gets angry at his teammates. Ive seen it before.

In easy matches he plays well but he cant live up to the expectation of a WORLD CLASS match. I hope he snaps out of his trance and proves me wrong, but i expect that he wont really do well against Inter.

I was a big Kezman supporter but he's really starting to piss me off. I mean, the things he does an amateur player would probably not even try. He misses goals like it's nothing, and he has no energy to finish a full 90 minute game.

But..

The whole team is under this stamina problem. Nobody except Carlos, Deniz, and Aurelio seem like they're in shape to play a full game. Fenerbahce hasn't scored a 2nd half goal in the league yet, and our strikers have no energy by the 60th minute. It's sad, really. Kezman is such a great player with good intentions and a will to score, but he's almost always left by his lonesome in the middle of 3 defenders. And when he's not, he's trying to win his own balls and trying to create things himself, but he gets too tired. Granted, he makes childish mistakes but I can't blame him for everything.

Our right wing is a huge 0. When Deivid's there, he plays everywhere on the field except the right. When Ali Bilgin's there, he's not able to make one accurate cross. When Kazim's there, that's the only time it starts flowing. The left is all Carlos, and I don't know how much longer he can take that. We're good in the CDM department thank God...

On that note, Kezman will probably score in important games and collect enough credit to last him 2-3 bad performances. Rinse-repeat.

yea like fry36 says u kinda feel sorry for Kezman alone up front he shows a really good spirit and will in every match he plays but is incredibly alone upfront, also the distance from the center midfielders and even Alex is way far away from him, 2-3 rounds ago in the TSL you could see this in one of the matches. His form is really being wasted im sure he could reach his season stats from PSV if he just scored more consistently in some matches and had a 2nd striker with him or with Appiah playing a bit further up near Alex.

I hate the lone foward tactic it never worked, we brought it Anelka and he definetly had the dribbling skills to score by himself but its damn near impossible. They leave kezman 4 v 1 and he has the worst first touch and dribbling in the world.

Our Wings do nothing other when Kazim comes in, i was hoping Ugur Boral could keep his preseason form but looks like he couldnt. Its obvious Kezman loses most of his energy toward 65' minute and i dont get y Zico wont sub in a our greatest saviour Semih. This guy will definetly score if u give him a chance.

I've changed my mind after Fenerbache's performance tonight, I had PSV and Inter as the teams to advance but now i really think that Fenerbache will advance together with Inter.

Congrats to fener and their fans , but u guysu guys def deserved a bigger win, they only had 1 chance the whole game by Suazo lol. I cant believe they could keep Ibrahimovic away from their goal. Looks like the defense is slowly getting more solid, a bigger goal difference could have done some extra good but i think fener can get 4 points against the two other teams in their home/away matches, i have to get hold of the match somewhere, i couldnt get the damn match shown on sopcast. Wish Besiktas would have gotten a point too so we could get more of those Uefa points, but this looks really good for fener and what a goal especially Alex detail was stunning, wish we had more players like him in our league. Theyve not conceeded any goals in 2 matches against Anderlecht and now Inter too, looks really promising :)

That was the most beautiful football I've seen by Fenerbahce in so long. We dominated the game in every aspect, and all our players tried their hardest to win. If it wasn't for some mishaps Inter could have gotten the whooping of their CL career. I had a huge smile on my face the entire day, people on campus thought I was retarded probably. :D
