View Full Version : Int Friendly. Montenegro - Sweden 1-2 (12/09/07)
I don't know much about Montenegros team, maybe someone can enlighten me about some of their best players and so on?
Montenegro became independent for just a year ago or something like that huh?
Is that the reason why they don't participate in EURO 08?
Thanks.
For sweden this should be an easy game... 4-0
Ibrahimovic, Mellberg and Allbäck won't travell along with the rest of the squad to Montenegro on Wendseday. They feel worn out from the great game against Denmark and needs to rest.
Wigans defender Andreas Granqvist has been called up for the game.

They have some decent players, such as Vucinic from Roma, and Purovic from Sporting Lisbon.
They're an average team. If I were to class them, I'd say they're better than Hungary, but they're still not used to playing all together. It should be an easy win for you guys.

Oh Vucinic, he's pretty good. Never heard of Purovic though but if he plays for a classic team like Sporting Lisbon he has to be good.
That simile with Hungary really gave me a clue on their capacity, thanks man!

Montenegro played to a 1-1 draw against Slovenia but slovenia played with 10 men and MNE scored on a PK.

(ignore the music)
Montenegro beat hungary 2-1 but they scored both goals from PKs.
They played 2 other matches which were loses.
1-0 loss to Columbia
2-0 loss to Japan
It seems like Sweden should avoid to tackle them in the penalty box, nice penaltykicks :)

they need a Pk to get them going
3 goals scored in history of their national team 3 pks :)

Nah they're from Sweden, born and bread :)
Majstorovic has Bosnian roots i think(not sure of both his parents are, don't think so)
Dusan Djuric has Serbian roots
Rade Prica i don't really know.
Oh and once we've started, Rami Shaaban Sweden's second GK has Egyptian and Finnish roots.
Majstorovic was close to sign a contract with Lazio this week but due to problem with the fax he couldn't sign it in time. Rumours says that he'll be Lazio's first signing once the transfer window opens again in January.
Ever heard of Denni Avdic..Sinter?
He's born in Bosanski Novi 1988 and is a huge talent, plays in Swedish champions IF Elfsborg and started against Valencia in the CL Qualifications. Valencias coach said to the Swedish newspapers after the game that he was very impressed by Avdic and said that the kid had a bright future ahead of him.

Yeah i'll post your young prospects in that thread but this Denni Avdic is aiming to play for Sweden's NT. He played his first U21 cap for 2 weeks ago against Wales and played a good game tonight against Germany, he's an offensive midfielder, 190cm and with awesome teqnique, imagine a well known coach like Valencias Quique Sánchez Flores which said he was one of the best prospects he have seen.

lol no problems Sinter :)
Montenegro has taken the lead and guess who scored the goal?? hehe Vucinic 17'..
1-0 Montenegro after 1st half.
Poor performance from the Swedish team so long, it doesn't look like they're motivated to play at all.
Is it Sweden's A-team playing? or are they trying out some youth players and subs?

@Vic let me guess a PK :)
what's Swedish lineup?
Is it Sweden's A-team playing? or are they trying out some youth players and subs?
Nah it's not Sweden's best starting 11. The regular defenders plays with an exception in Mellberg which doesn't play. Then there's only 2 midfielers from the regulars Källström and A.Svensson. The rest of em that play are a players that are used to sit at the bench or even at the grandstand.
Sweden's starting 11 against Montenegro.
Isaksson(1st Keeper)
Edman(Regular)
Hansson(Regular)
Majstorovic
Nilsson(Regular)
D.Andersson
A.Svensson(Regular
Källström(Regular)
Djuric
Rosenberg
Prica

Vucinic is just pure class, he's everywhere in this game.
lol nah he actually scored with a nice header :)

Rosenberg is very good player
Game over:
Montenegro - Sweden 1-2 (Vucinic 17', Rosenberg 71', Prica 74')
Rosenberg is very good player
Yeah he's a good player but he has had some troubles at the begining of this season with Werder Bremen. He played awesome during the last season and he need to find back to that flow.
