Tomorrow is the draw for the Champions League qualification and UEFA Cup second round of qualification
AEK will probably face a difficult team in the Champions League Qualification. Olympiakos is already in the Champions League. I think Panathinaikos will draw in the first round of qualification for the UEFA Cup Group Stage
Anorthosis of Cyprus defeated Vardar of FYROM twice by 1-0 and passed out of the first qualifying round for the UEFA Cup

You should kinda move this thread to the Uefa Champions League section of the site. It would work pretty well there. Since ppl can share more about their wishes and nightmares about the draw and all that. Just a thought.
Anyways best of luck!

Hopefully they get an easy opponent like last years. Greece club teams position has dropped alot. Next year we get a team in Q3 and Q2. We need good results to get back how we have it this year; Q3 and Group stage.

Very hard draw for Aek. They got Seville. Very tough game. Good Luck guys.

I saw Liberopoulos crying in the press interview because of his homeland's destruction. Ferrer was looking him sadly and he did not know what to say. They are some other players of AEK too who are from Peloponnesus who lost their towns of origin. And actually any result would be pointless during what we are living these days.

Group H: AEK/Sevilla, Steaua, Slavia, Arsenal(first opponent against Arsenal on the road should AEK advance)
Group C: Olympiakos, Lazio, Real Madrid, Bremen (first opponent against Lazio at home)
we got the easiest one from group 2 and the hardest from group 3. I do believe if we play well we can progress. Bremen lost a lot of big players this transfer window, and lazio is in the CL bc of the scandels. they are not Italys 4 strongest side. and them having problems against Bucharest proved it. and they drew to torino at home game 1. we shall see.
Ill be in Greece for the 1st game. it sux that the stadium is closed to fans.

I hope I am wrong though, because our national position in the ranking is going lower and lower and if this goes on very soon we'll face a different situation. The first of the league will be starting from the CL qualifying rounds.

(I wont post the highlights of this match)
ATHENS, Greece (AP) -- Amid tributes to a Spanish player who died and victims of the Greek wildfires, Sevilla routed AEK Athens 4-1 Monday behind Luis Fabiano's two goals to reach the group stage of the Champions League.
Sevilla, which captured the last two UEFA Cups, won the first leg 2-0 and advanced on total goals 6-1. It joins FC Steaua, Arsenal and Slavia Prague in Group H of the Champions League. AEK was relegated to the UEFA Cup and a first-round game against Salzburg.
The game originally was scheduled for last week but was postponed when midfielder Antonio Puerta died Aug. 28. Three days earlier he collapsed on the field during a Spanish league game against Getafe and had subsequent heart attacks.
AEK also had requested a postponement because of wildfires in southern Greece that killed 65 people and caused a national state of emergency.
Before Monday's game, about 50,000 AEK fans clapped when a video tribute to Puerta was played at Olympic Stadium and displayed banners in his honor. Players observed a moment of silence for Puerta and the Greek fire victims, as AEK fans held lighted candles.
"We thank AEK for that initiative. They showed they are a great club," Sevilla's Ramos said. "I also offer our condolences to the families of the victims of the fires."
Fabiano scored on a penalty kick in the 31st minute and headed in a corner kick by Diego Capel in the 45th. Keita beat AEK goalkeeper Marcelo Moretto in the 40th, heading in a corner from Daniel Alvez. In the 54th, Alexander Kerzhakov raced through the AEK defense and placed the ball out of Moretto's reach.
Brazil veteran Rivaldo made a penalty kick for AEK in the 82nd minute, beating Sevilla goalie Andres Palop. Palop saved a penalty kick by Gustavo Manduca in the 65th.

Home game with no fans and our 2nd official game of the year. a team with all new players needs to play games to play well. And Lazios goal was offside but lets not get into that. Lazio wont finish above us. they are horrible. I was at the game against Ofi were we scored 8 goals(2 penalties not given). we can get some points.
And u dont believe Olympiakos will finish last. You Want them to finish last.:red-card:

No we don't get any points from yesterday's games. But after this qualification Greek clubs will have a lot of games to get points from. Most possibly they will meet clubs from Czech Republic, Bulgaria and the rest of the countries that are some points in front of us. This will be the chance to go up in the ranking.

I heard in "ERA Spor" that we don't get points from the qualifications. However during the group stage, the number of clubs will be taken into consideration in connection with their wins and draws. I am not sure how the system works, but from what understood the presense of more clubs will give more points for the same number of wins and draws.

I saw the pao and larissa games. Pao played a bad team and in my opinion will have a tough time against a quality opponent. they will progress to the next round and HAVE to buy some players in January if they want o continue in the Uefa cup.
Panionios concede late and they are really impressing me in Europe. Larissa also had a good showing and thought they would tie late till they conceded towards the end. It would be a dream for us to have all 5 teams progress. we didnt have any bad scorelines today. 2 away draws, a home win, and a away lose to a big team.

I agree, as I said before despite the win I am not completely satisfised. I saw parts of the games of AEK and Larissa when I got back home.
Larissa were unlucky in the part I watched. While the score was 2-1 they had good chances to equalize but the bigger European experience of Everton finally dominated.
AEK on the other side were lucky taking the draw as I saw Elfsborg losing great chances in second half.
I did not watch the game of Panionios, but I heard they were better than Helsinborg and deserved something more. However an away 1-1 is not a bad result for a club without much European experience like Panionios.

I watched the game and it's the other way around. Panionios scored on an amazing strike (one time thing) just before the end of the first half. Helsingborg owned the game in the second half and created alot of chances which they should've done better with. Larsson tied the game at the end but Helsingborg was dissapointed after the game cause they deserved something better than a draw in this one.

N'Doye scored our goal. Copenhagen started the game with a good chance but 3 very good attacks of Panathinaikos followed and one of them became goal. Copenhagen had problems in the center of the defense - this is what we must keep taking advantage of if it continues in the second half.

Hours before the ARIS-Red Star game, three Red Star fans were sitting in a cafeteria in Thessaloniki when they attacked by 7-10 men.
Three possibilites:
1) Attacked by PAOK fans because of the rivalry between Olympaikos/Red Star and PAOK/Partizan and stemming from last year's basketball match in Belgrade where fights broke out between Red Star and PAOK fans.
2) ARIS fans
3) Albanian nationalists

We are already qualified but we have to fight the game in Madrid and qualify first in the group. If we qualify second we face one of the clubs coming from the Champions League.
I think Panionios can hope for something good. Lienen has knownledge of teams like Austria and he proved that he is fighting the European games let's see. Aris will not face problem either if they are focused and their psychology is not affected by the Aris loss.

Panionios vs Bordeaux
Bayern Munich vs Aris
AEL Larissa vs FC Nurnberg
AEK Athens vs Villareal
Atletico Madrid vs Panathinaikos
Galinovic and Karagounis are officially out of the Panathinaikos squad.... It looks like Peseiro is going to change the system to 4-3-3 with 2 defensive midfielders We must purpose on a good result in Madrid to take the first place of the group and avoid the Champions League clubs.
Good luck to the other teams too, but I especially want Aris to do something good (I know it's very difficult) because this year they were so unlucky in Europe. In the first game they defeat Red Star and then in the league game with Atromitos they lose key player Papazoglou with an injury. In the Bolton game they are generally better and they keep 1-0 lead till the last seconds of the extra-time but then Giannakopoulos scores and equalizes. In their next game against Braga they dominate again but they don't manage to take the win - they stay at 1-1. With the performances they had they deserve the qualification.

I didn't saw Aris game but from what I read they kept it well till the first goal of Bayern. I guess then they decided to play an open game, which they did not achieve with sucess as the superiority of Bayern as a team prevailed.
I got sick to my stomach with the Panionios result. After going up 2-0 to a team that didnt need a result to secure first place they commited suicide.
The aris result was hefty but whats the differnce between 1-0 and 6-0, I need Red star needed a result against Braga was the only way Aris passes and it didnt come. Aek has to get a result. Greece was sitting so well if they teams would have passed.

I dont like AEK's draw because Spanish teams are a problem for AEK this season as well as historically. AEK lost twice to Seville and lost at home against Villareal in their only match so this Getafe squad is another Spanish team that AEK will lose to.
Lazio, Real and Werder.... Most possibly other 6 humiliating games for Olympiakos.
I hope I am wrong though, because our national position in the ranking is going lower and lower and if this goes on very soon we'll face a different situation. The first of the league will be starting from the CL qualifying rounds.
