I dunno. It's gonna take a little time to get used to them. But I think turquoise one is too plain. Something like that would have been better.

Hmm..Idont like them too much :\ atleast have some yellow on the turquoise.. And have some navy on the striped yellow and white.

The Yellow and Black is my favorite. The Turkish patch looks good on it. I don't mind the Light blue one though, it could be worse, like the Barca highlighter yellow ones. :lol:

I love the new jerseys...

The "çubuklu" is classic and straight, no falderal. Could probably be analysed like "concentration on brass tacks, on principal tasks…

The yellow/white is absolutely precious, reflecting history Fenerbahçe colours.

And the turquoise one… firstly i was confused last night when i watched the show, i didn't see the coherence between Fenerbahçe and this colour. All of a sudden i got this idea – TÜRKIS and TÜRKEI ("turquoise" and "Türkiye" in german)… I searched on the internet and found an explanation of the source for the word TURQUOISE: The mineral itself does not occur in Türkiye but was traded on the bazaars and therefore it's assumed that the term comes from that. So, obviously the club thought very well about WHY to use this colour for the jerseys and the lineal connection to Türkiye makes it special.

I've always liked the classical form of FB jerseys, the navy blue stripped one. Hardly few liked the yellow-white ones but as Bina said it has history but the turquoise.. It's just your interpretation. No one here feels "Turkish" for the color turquoise. =P

Basically what Bina said. We're gonna wear the turqoise jerseys in CL to symbolize the colors of cinis that were spread around the world in the time of Ottoman Empire.

I'm aware that this is just an interpretation and that the colour does not make anybody feel turkish. But obviously the thesis has got a background.

Actually i'd heard today from a turkish friend that a few years ago there has even been a discussion to dress the NT in turquoise. This is something i would dislike, Turkish national colour is and should stay red.

Reason for these colors being chosen is not because of that, Bina. It's just a coincidence.


This is our 101st year. They chose to make jerseys that symbolize the colors we were associated with during the first years of our club. I think it's a great idea, last year we celebrated the 100th year, and now we're going back to the beginning and honoring it.

Color red is associated with Turkey, not turqoise. Most people wouldn't make that connection anyway.

I've kind of warmed up to the white jerseys. It'll be cool seeing my team play in white, kind of like the mighty Madrid. :)

The word Turquoise comes from Turquois, which means Turkish in French. It's because many of the mosques and buildings that were built during the time of Seljuks and Ottomans had turquoise tiles called cinis, which became very famous in Europe. There was a discussion at the time to make Turkey's NT jerseys turquoise so that color would symbolize Turkey, just like orange symbolizes Netherlands, and blue symbolizes Italy. But, as you said most people would not make that connection, and the color red really symbolizes Turkiye. :)

All three jerseys were great....loved them. But i guess it's a matter of taste. Some might not like them...some will.

I will most certainly buy all three of them this summer.

I hope the yellow and white striped jersey is here to stay....they are our very first club colours. Brilliant idea to bring that jersey back..

that light blue one is horrible. reminds of trabzon each time i look at it. i dont get y they did that.
