Wouldn't it be kool if we had some videos about Beşiktaş (except goals from matches) here? I think why not!? :D
Here's a little informative video of the legendary north bank aka. Kartal Yuvası (Eagle's Nest) of Beşiktaş İnönü Stadium where Çarşı stands. Though it's not just Çarşı who populates there. There are ordinary people, families and couples, some of them have been cheering for Beşiktaş for over 10 years in those stands!
I wish I had the whole document (and in English) but what can I do.. If anyone's that interested I can translate it. :D

Yep! :D
That guy who stands on the pitch is an Armenian Turk named Alen Markaryan, he is the head of Çarşı (Beşiktaş's biggest fan group) and regarded as the biggest fan of Beşiktaş.

Hahaha! Good spotting. Well it's not that Chetnik sign! He calls the fans for, in Turkish, "üçlü" or "triple". Notice what he does to make people count one, two, three and boom. =P That's the sigh of that. :D

If I was a Fenerbahçe supporter
I would consider this the most emberassing thing EVER to happen.
YES more emberassing then the 0 points in the Champions League or whatever crap. Being silenced in your own stadium like this is the worst thing to happen to a Turkish club. Because we take such pride in our supporters.
I remember when we lost to Fener a few seasons ago when Tuncay scored in 90+3 it was quiet for about 5 seconds then our fans where singing again... I mean evenw hen we where getting soccer punshed by Wolfsburg the fans kept singing... it just show how much a clan of supporters can differ even though the travelling distance is a mear 30 km.
They say that the supporter groups of the big 3 don't have any specific affiliation of heritage, social stature, etc etc. I don't really understand how you can explain the huge difference in "supporting culture" then. There must be some clear difference.. it's just ahrd to put your finger on.

That doesn't matter right now; this thread is about Carsi and how BESIKTAS fans are supposedly "the greatest".
No use in bringing other teams' fans' behavior into this discussion.

I actually have a problem with people bringing politics into football. If anyone wants to make a speech I'll give him a pen and some paper. I actually didn't think much of Carsi disbanding itself, it was starting to get annoying when other supporters would talk as if Besiktas didn't exist before Carsi. That being said, yes they're some of the hardest working supporters in the country.
Razzerian
03-25-2010, 10:42 AM
I used to be a member of Carsi a few years ago but I kinda stopped since they where starting to put themselves above the club and I didn't like that...
Besiktas should always come first. When they started all the merchandise etc it just didn't seem like it was about Besiktas anymore.
Admittedly I have a scarf of Carsi Berlin, but atleast that has the club logo on it and the club name on the other side and is actually one of the best quality scarfs I've seen around... but when they started just with Carsi on everything I kinda pulled back.
But I have been "less fanatic" for the past 3 years to be honest. Not that I don't support my club anymore, I still support it as I did before and love it more then ever but I stopped with all the forum trolling (Carsi Berlin & Forza Besiktas forums) and all that stuff :)

The foreigner rule
The 'playing favorites' (Favoritism, I guess, is a better term for it...)
The scandals
The fan control

This video has to 'pull your strings' if you're a true BJK'li... man, we have the best fans, hahahaha
Imagine being the guy sitting there, and just to sign your contract you get this kind of a crowd, putting on this kind of a display... He knows what's up...
People say that this could intimidate people, but really, knowing that if you do well, you'll have this kind of support... it's a mindset I guess: either you want the potential support, or you fear the potential wrath, how you 'go into it' is key to most things in life. The guys who don't do well here are the guys who wilt under pressure and lack the proper character needed to survive here. At least regarding a key element of their game, the real fans can see how they're going to do from day one. When a guy shys away from, for example, the mass that awaits him at the airport, or one who is visibly nervous in front of this intense fanbase at the signing ceremony... we know right away that they'll fail.
I think the real fans can smell fear, and then they dig into players... sure, you might say the fans intimidate them, but one has to be susceptible to intimidation in order to fail in those circumstances, regardless.
The fact that guys like Quaresma and Guti came striding in, with huge grins on their faces and seemingly apt to take in all the support... this bodes well for their futures here at BJK, however long they may be...
Let's be real, we're not talking about you or me... I'd piss myself if I came under the microscope like that  but these guys' jobs are to perform in front of thousands upon thousands upon thousands of people day-in-day-out... if they can't take fan support at an airport, just to see them walk from the plane to their car, how the f*ck are they going to handle playing football well in front of 1000x that number of fans when the time comes...?

FIFA 11: "King Of Carsi" - "We Are 11" Series, Episode 9

EA SPORTS FIFA SOCCER 11 and VBS.TV introduce you to Turkey's Besiktas Carsi Group, one of the largest and most historic soccer fan clubs in the world. In 2008, in a Champions League match against Liverpool, Besiktas fans clocked what is the loudest support ever recorded in human history. Fans were recorded at producing an average 132 decibels for 90 minutes. To put that into perspective, that's about as loud as a gunshot or a jet engine running at 100mph.
The fans were led by Alen Markaryan, a soccer devotee who is essentially the lead-fan and hype man for the Besiktas supporters. Think of him as the conductor of the loudest orchestra in the world.
On this trip, we traveled to Istanbul where we met with Alen, spent time in his kabob shop, met fellow Besiktas supporters, and watched a game while he told us about all things Besiktas.

Take that as a compliment BJKli if a Fener fan says that.
