first we have

1. Iraq VS Vietnam!
2. Iran VS korea.R
3. Australia VS Japan
4. Saudi Arabia VS Uzbekistan

i think korea can beat Indonesia and the saudi's can beat Bahrain, which would leave korea in second spot!.

i also think iran will top there group, which has been the group of death, 3 very good teams, and the dark horse of the comp will be Uzbekistan, i think they can and will beat china! to get the second spot.


the simi's will look like this in my opinion,
1. Vietnam VS korea. R
2. Australia VS uzbekistan

i really think korea still have the attacking power to break down iran, who are more of a defensive team in my eyes, would be a great and very close game tho. korea would then go on to beat vietnam.

vietnam i think can break down iraq, iraq are stong in defence, but can't score many goals, so i think with vietnams speed, i think they will pinch it.

australia will beat a good japanese side, world cup all over again. then go on to beat the good uzbeks!

sauid's haven't been great in this asian cup, but just doing enough to win, i think the uzbeks will surprise them, because i think iran are a better team then the sauidies, and the uzbeks took the game to iran.

i didn't even know that went down last time lol, all i know is that australia is a better team then japan, and yeah we played like a bunch of school footballs with big egos in the first 2 games, but what japan has to worry about is how australia played against the thai's, and japan haven;t really impressed me that much yet to be honest, if you beat us someday, i'll show you're team some respect :hat: .

Personally, I think that Australia's momentum is to slow right now, a vicotry over the like sof thailand isnt exactly the biggest moral booster; then again, Japans squad are all young and inexperienced, aside from a few players such as Nakamura, Kawaguchi and Nakazawa. I also think that Osim has organized Japans defence a bit better, although I doubt that Kaji is the best choice to play against Australia; then again, I dont know what Australia are "usually" like although I know that they have been unimpressive by there own peoples standards; for me, this will be a battle of the strikers, Takahara VS Viduka, and right now, Takahara has the upperhand because he has 3 great mideifleders who can feed him a ball opposed to Aussies one; Im still gonna have to say that this one can go either way, probs only by a goal.

man i hope korea makes it but not making it could a blessing in disguise as it will give us a chance to get a new coach. i am sure korea will beat indonesia but the AC 2007 rules state that head to head records matter more than goal difference. so given the Arab countries use extremely cheap tactics, i think bahrain and saudi might tie one another on purpose to keep korea out and help one another. take a look at this article for example:

Also if Korea makes it to the next stage they'll probably lose to Iran, they always have trouble against good middle easter teams like Iran and Saudi Arabia, it would be funny tho if Iran and Korea were to meet in QF it would be the 4th straight time! 1996 Iran won 6-2, 2000 Korea won 2-1 AET, 2004 Iran won 4-3. The Iran-Korea qf matches have always been the best in the tournament, I hope Indoenisa goes thru but if not then at least I'll be able to look forward to the clash between these 2 old giants of Asia.

Sorry, one game isnt enough to get the momentum, although I do think that Australia will score first, however, I have noticed that when the opponent scores first, Japan kind of wake up and kicks it in to high gear;

uzbekistan is pretty strong, gave korea a hard time during a friendly. but i am confident of saudi's play and saudi seems to be getting stronger with every game..

i still think uzbekistan will make the simi's, the way they pushed iran and how they beat china, and how the saudi's were dominated by the koreans who arn't playing that well, i'm going to have a bet on the uzbeks.

i think australia will beat japan in a close game.

vietnam to just beat iraq with there speed, thailand bothered iraq with the same kind of play.

and korea to wake and play a strong game to beat iran, but this will be close, i see iran dominating this game but not taking the chances.
