Since Asanovic has retired from the NT, I think we owe it to him to give at least one post. I think he was one of the unsung heroes of our team. He never got much credit, but did so much. I'm pretty sure he set up at least 3 of Suker's goals at WC98. Especially the one against the Francuzi, that was all his doing, Suker just finished it off. He had good dribbling skills, passing skills, and had a good shot. He was always so strong in the midfield, and could hold on the ball and fend off opposing players so well.

Your right Prosinecki we owe him at least that, to be honest Asanovic is or was my favourite player for the NT, very much an unsung hero, I remember what he did for Derby in england he is such a skillful player who is heavily underated and will be missed.

Players that played against him will remember his albows that's for sure. He was a bit slow/lazy but had exact passes and strong defending role. He knew exactly how to step on the ball, have a look, let the transformation be executed, pass the percise ball. At counterattacks long and percise passes solved many situations. A very important figure. We'll miss him.
