New Captain?

After all 3 of our captains left this off season: Tuncay, U.Ozat, Rustu

who do guys think/want will be our captain?

Based on the QTM A.Yildirim wants R.Carlos and Zico wants Alex.


i'm not to sure my self. i still have to decide if i want a turkish speaking captain or a foriegner to be the captain.

if i want a turk to be captain, then my choice would be Tumer but if its to be a foriegner i would say Alex or Aurelio, and i like R.Carlos as well but dont think its fair to just give it to him since he is new.

Aurélio would be my choice. He got the experience, he got the heart, he is moderate. Plus he speaks both languages, Turkish aswell as Portuguese.

I have heard its a tradition with the club to give the captaincy to the longest serving player,
so it could be Semih

The player who deserves it the most is Marco Pasa imo....noone plays with the same heart he does.

Acc. to Fenerbahce.org Zico's full quote was: "’We have to choose a new captain. Semih is our captain until we make a decision on this issue."

A captain is a long serving member of a team who plays a majority of the matches and someone who the players look up to and admire.

We only really have 4 real competitors for the spot. Only 7 or so players in the squad have been with fener for 3 or more years.

My nominations are:

Alex + 3 Years at the club + Regular Player
Aurélio + 4 Years at the club + Regular Player
Volkan + 5 Years at the club - Not Regular Player (Anymore)
Semih + 4 Years at the club - Not Regular Player

Honourable mention - Selçuk, Kemal, Önder

Looking at this list, I think the captancy will probably end up with Alex or Aurélio. They may not speak Turkish well, but then if we had a Turkish captain, he would a) not be able to communicate with the foreign players and b) not play in enough of the games, :) .

I think Semih should be the captain. Spending his youth on the bench, at least Fenerbahçe could do that for him as a "thank you".

That's exactly what I don't like about Fenerbahçe. When I say it some go crazy. Lol anyways. Semih is a true hearted Fenerli and I just got the info that he is the current captain. (How good, captaincy during the training camp) Zico stated that the players will decide the captain so the decision is not for us to judge. They'd know the best.

Yea, i think Semih or Tumer should be captain.. R.carlos to be captain idont understand..his first year here..And the captain of the team should be Turkish. Having a foreign captain just doesnt seem right.

Well i'm pretty sure most of us are happy with Alex as our captain and Semih as our 2nd captain, but honestly i cringe every time i see Volkan get the captain band.

IMO the third captain of this team should be Roberto Carlos not Volkan.

Volkan is a player who looks to blame someone, as u can see everytime he concedes a goal, he just yells at his defense. Thats not a way a captain should be imo. Carlos is always helping out, shouting advice, pointing the way and plus with his experience i believe he would make a great captain as he is a team mate.

hah i couldnt agree more, he even gets the armband in some NT matches when we sub if im correct, i cant believe how this halfwit has made it so far

Deivid, Carlos, and Gokhan Gonul all deserve that armband more than Volkan. Hell, I'd rather have Lugano carry that armband than Volkan. This guy seriously makes me sick to my stomach.
