Well I have decided to make a thread about our latest signings. Now lets not get too excited because we know that we have made some really bad signings recently but here's all of the new signings:
Damarcus Beasley
Alan Gow
Jean-Claude Darcheville
Graeme Smith
Kirk Broadfoot
Julien Faubert (maybe)
Any thoughts on anyone else we could sign????

Here is some of the rumours for Rangers transfers:
Matty Taylor (Portsmouth)- This could be a smashing transfer, hes got a good hard shot on him and isn't scared to shoot from outside the box, which is something we need. Although we may need to wait until the summer because Harry Redknapp needs.
Barry Robson (Dundee United)- Another good Midfielder, many consider him as the best Midfielder outside of the old firm. I saw him play today and he wasn't overly impressive but he has a smashing free kick on him and that is a great asset. However Celtic are interested in him also.
David Murphy (Hibs)- A fantastic left-back who we could really do with signing. I think we should go for him.
and finally the worst of all
Kenny Miller (Derby)- Why the hell do we want to sign someone who kissed a Celtic badge after scoring against us (one of his rare goals for Celtic) :mad2:
Any thoughts on the rumours?????

Heres some of the transfers that I think we should go for in the new season:
Ivan Klasnić (Werder Bremen)- This would be the first "high-ish" profile signing we could make in a few years. He is a great striker and he has already said that he was approached by us and that he is very interested. He is also good friends with Dado Prso.
Roman Pavlyuchenko (Spartak Moscow)- This will be an amazing signing though with Real Madrid sniffing around I think the transfer fee will get higher and higher and we will miss out.
Naldo (Werder Bremen)- This guy is a great defender and if we get him it will be a great coup for us. He also has a great free-kick on him.
and finally
Davis (Fulham)- Get him signed now, and I mean now!!!!

Podolski...is probably a dream too far Ulster :D
Did you know we could end up with a Northern Ireland trio, as we are interested in Healy and Lafferty as well as extending Davis contact.

I thought Healy was going to be added last year, fell through... of course with Fulham most likely heading down he will want to leave there.....I'd rather see Lafferty go somewhere where he can get a good amount of playing time and I do not know if he would start for Rangers yet.

good point....but I just do not want to see him riding the bench which will hurt the N.Ireland national team...especially when we are so close to being able to reach the Euro or WC
One solution I would be happy with is if Rangers acquired him them loaned him out to get some experience.

My god! This could be the Rangers side next season:

That would be a knock out team!!!!

Yeah ulster we have fire in our stomachs and the fans are starting to get back to our passionate best!
Kaspars Gorkss is a wanted man as the summer transfer market cranks up for action, Rangers are keen on the Blackpool centre-half who reportedly has a £250,000 release clause in his contract.
26-year-old Gorkss moved to Bloomfield Road from Ventspils in his homeland of Latvia at the beginning of 2007 and has played a key role this season in keeping the Seasiders in the Championship.
Apparently Rangers want to sign Mikael Forssel (27) (Striker) from Birmingham City.

http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/sport/burnleyfc/claretslatest/display.var.2292542.0.burnley_boss_determined_to_keep_lafferty.php
This is angering the Rangers fans and me as well, I do not want to spend 4 million on a player that hasn't proven anything yet. We have been promised quality and if all we get is him and Judas Miller then I will be p***ed off with Rangers.
Andygers

Few transfer stories today:
We are now being linked with Olympiakos defender Vassilis Torosidis. Walter Smith showed interest earlier on in the season but failed to sign him. Bayern Munich and Juventus are also looking at him. (Glasgow Evening Times)
Kenny Miller has stated his ambition to play for Rangers, he said " I would love to get to work with Walter and Ally again, although I know the deal isn't anywhere near being done yet. I know not all the fans will give me a warm welcome but if I get the chance I will have to seriously consider it."
(Daily Record)
Kyle Lafferty is set to make his dream to Ibrox in the next few weeks, the Burnley striker has already had a bid made to get him by Rangers which was knocked back. Celtic are also interested in the striker. (Various)
------------------------------
All I can say is the only player I want from those three is Torosidis, Lafferty is a good player but is not Rangers class and Kenny Miller can GTF :mad2:

Former Hearts hitman Andrius Velicka is excited by reports linking him with a £1m to Ibrox...
Lithuanian international Andrius Velicka impressed at Hearts before making a January switch to Viking Stavanger, but is more than willing to consider a move back to the Scottish Premier League in light of Rangers' reported interest.
Viking have recieved no approach from the Gers, but striker Velicka, who signed for Hearts from Jambos owner Vladimir Romanov's other footballing interest FBK Kaunas, is hoping that the rumours don't prove unfounded.
"If it can happen, it will be amazing," Velicka told the Edinburgh Evening News. "To play for Rangers would just be unbelievable.
"They are a big club in Europe and I think they are the best club in Scotland.
"I would be proud to get the chance to play for Rangers.
"I don't want to talk too much about this because I don't know anything yet."
Velicka is perhaps the most successful of the many Lithuanians to play at Tynecastle, scoring 25 times in 48 appearances. He scored on his Norweigan Tippeligaen debut against HamKam in April - netting three in six games overall.

Seriously! Wow I've not heard anything about this. Do you rate him Vic???
I do rate him. He's been awesome in Bundesliga this season. He scored 14 goals in the league and had some fantastic performances in the Champions League. He was man of the match against Real Madrid with 1 goal and 1 assist.
He's still pretty young and has his best days ahead of him I believe. However he's been rather poor in the NT. He has played in both games so far in Euro 2008 and hasen't done much.
It's a shame that he can't perform better for us cause he sure as hell has the potential to do it. His season in Bremen speaks for itself.

The Rangers forums are all going head over heels with delight after this:
Spanish Sensation Joins Gers
RANGERS Football Club has tonight reached agreement with Valencia to sign 19 year old attacking midfielder Aaron Niguez Esclapez on a two year loan deal, with an option to purchase.
Walter Smith has been a long time admirer of the Spanish under 20 Internationalist who has represented his country at every youth level.
Indeed Aaron was voted Player of the Tournement at the 2007 Under 19 European Championships and is highly thought of in his homeland.
The midfielder has played for Valencia's first team in the Champions League when he made his debut against Roma in the Olympic Stadium at the age of 17.
Last season he enjoyed a sucessful loan spell at Iraklis in the Greek League where he scored three goals in 12 games having been loaned to Spanish lower league side Xerez the previous year.
He was courted by a number of top clubs in Greece and Spain but has opted to join Rangers and will arrive in Glasgow tomorrow for a medical and to finalise personal terms.

You think he will start? I suspect he will because I do not think we will have signed such a highly rated player, with so many accolades from FIFA and UEFA, in a position we need filled badly not to play him.
He will get started and the good thing about this deal is that we have first option after the two year loan deal, so if he unexpectedly flops we can give him back and if he is a success we can buy him for a reasonable fee.

PORTUGUESE playmaker Pedro Mendes will jet into Glasgow today to tie up a £3million move to Rangers.
Record Sport can reveal the Portsmouth central midfielder is on his way to sign a three-year deal with Walter Smith’s outfit.
The 29-year-old has been a target of the Ibrox manager for more than a month but initial moves to sign the talented player stalled over his £32,000-a-week Pompey wage packet.
However, the sale of Spanish defender Carlos Cuellar to Aston Villa for £8million this week has enabled Rangers to push the boat out and offer Mendes a suitable package.
Pompey boss Harry Redknapp had been hoping to keep Mendes after the engine-room star forced his way back into the top team at the end of last season and made an impressive appearance in the FA Cup Final against Cardiff.
But Smith’s improved offer has tempted the Premiership club and Mendes – who has been capped twice – is on his way to Murray Park to undergo a medical today. If formalities are completed, the former Tottenham player will seal the deal immediately.
The move follows Smith’s capture of Spanish kid Aaron Niguez from Valencia as he begins spending the cash received from the Cuellar deal.
And it may spell the end of interest in fans’ favourite Steve Davis.
Northern Ireland captain Davis, who was on loan at Ibrox last term, is at the centre of a cash wrangle as Smith tried to get him back full-time. But the move has become bogged down and yesterday Fulham boss Roy Hodgson accused Rangers of penny- pinching.
Hodgson said: “They say Rangers have not had much money until now but I find that hard to understand because they get 50,000 people every other week.
“We are being obliged to contemplate transfers of £6m, £8m so it seems strange a club of that stature can only afford what they have offered us.
“I would be disappointed if the club allowed him to go for a sum that is below his worth.
“I suppose the risk exists still that because he is not one of the starting four Rangers will come in with a bid that the club finds acceptable, he would desperately want to go and I would be in a difficult situation.”

Its 100% official:
Mendes Signs For Gers
RANGERS can confirm today that Portuguese midfielder Pedro Mendes has signed for the club for £3m in a three year deal.
The experienced playmaker successfully completed a medical in Glasgow this afternoon before putting pen-to-paper on his new contract at Murray Park.
The capture of Mendes is a huge boost for boss Walter Smith who has been looking for a creative midfielder to bolster his squad in the absence of captain Barry Ferguson.
The 29-year-old certainly provides that and his ability to push forward and provide goalscoring opportunities is sure to be an important factor for Rangers this season.
Mendes started his career with FC Guimaraes and was to stay at the club for four seasons before moving to Portuguese giants FC Porto where he won the Champions League under the guidance of Jose Mourinho.
In the summer of 2004 he signed for Premiership side Tottenham Hotspur before joining Portsmouth where he was described as 'the man with the big heart' due to his tireless and passionate displays.
During his time at Fratton Park he played 58 games, scoring five goals, and was part of the team that win the FA Cup against Cardiff City in May 2008.
Mendes was also involved in last weekend's Charity Shield clash against Manchester United and will be included in Walter Smith's squad for tomorrow's SPL clash with Hearts.

Well lets hope he finds some form if he does he'll be a great player, very creative. Surprised he only scored 5 goals thought it would have been more.
Still some good news, and well needed for you guys.
Don't think he'll like the weather he's glove wearer as you can see, he's been on the coast, but not Scotland, let's hope he has heart for it, he can't be anytihng but impressed when he gets the atmosphere of an old firm match.
Talking of that, I'm gonna have to do that this year, they have coach that takes some of the Celtic fans over from Donegal, I must go to a Rangers - Celtic game!!!! Apperently it's very reasonable and includes the tickets etc etc.

It looks like Steve Davis is coming to Rangers after all...
RANGERS will end the longest running transfer saga of the summer this weekend by signing Fulham midfielder Steven Davis for £3million.
The Northern Ireland skipper was a massive hit at Ibrox during his loan spell last season.
Then he spent the summer in limbo as the clubs haggled over a price to make the move permanent.
But last night boss Walter Smith, whose transfer kitty was bolstered by the £7.8m sale of Carlos Cuellar to Aston Villa in midweek, finally got his man as Fulham agreed to sell and Davis was close to agreeing personal terms.
The deal is unlikely to be done before Rangers face Hearts at Ibrox today but Davis will be Smith's third signing in a week by tomorrow night at the latest.
The club unveiled £3m Portsmouth midfielder Pedro Mendes yesterday, hot on the heels of signing Valencia's highly-rated attacking midfielder Aaron Niguez on Thursday.
Davis' arrival may mean Smith putting on the back burner his interest in Palermo's Australian internationalist Mark Bresciano.

Rangers are continuing their interest in Palermo midfielder Mark Bresciano:
Bresciano has been linked with a summer exit from Palermo for several weeks now, and over the weekend it was reported that Rangers wanted to sign the Australian.
The Scottish giants have money to spend following the recent sale of star man Carlos Cuellar to Aston Villa. The Gers have already spent some of this money on Portsmouth’s Pedro Mendes, but they need to strengthen further to make up for the loss of Cuellar, who was absolutely outstanding last season, being named Scottish Player of the Year.
Bresciano seems to fit the bill perfectly, and according to reports in Italy, Rangers and Palermo representatives will meet up tomorrow to begin negotiations concerning the transfer.
The 28-year-old has been at Palermo since arriving from Parma in 2006, but he has been associated with an exit repeatedly over the past 12 months or so. He was close to leaving for Great Britain last summer in order to join Sven-Goran Eriksson’s Manchester City, but the transfer fell through at the last minute.
Rangers are said to be prepared to pay €10m, and Palermo are likely to accept if this offer was tabled.
Bresciano has won 42 caps for the Australian national team, and will be on duty for his country in midweek in the friendly against South Africa.

Rangers defender Andt Webster will play on loan for Bristol City until next january.
Rangers have officialized the engagement of 22 year old midfielder Maurice Edu; awaiting for a working permit, the american player has signed a five year deal.
Rangers have announced the signing of defensive midfielder Maurice Edu from MLS side Toronto FC for a fee of £2.6m ( $5m). The American international 22, has signed a five year contract, and the move will be completed as soon as the player receives a work permit.
Edu becomes Walter Smith’s third signing in the last seven days, the other two being Aaron Niguez Esclapez from Valencia ( on loan with an option to buy) and Portuguese midfielder Pedro Mendes. Fans of Rangers made their displeasure felt at Carlos Cuellar’s departure, but the new signings will give them something to cheer about.
Edu has been capped six times for the United States, and was also part of their Beijing Olympics squad that failed to qualify from a group that also consisted of Nigeria, Netherlands and Japan. He won the MLS Rookie of the Year award in November 2007.
Edu was recommended to Smith by former Rangers striker Maurice Johnston, who is currently the director of soccer at Toronto FC.
Edu joins compatriot Da Marcus Beasley at Ibrox.
Smith is also close to signing Steven Davis from Fulham, and is also reportedly in the market for another central defender.

Fulham's Davis moves to Rangers
Profile: Steven Davis in action for Rangers
Fulham's Northern Ireland midfielder Steve Davis has completed his protracted permanent transfer to Rangers for a fee of around £3m.
The 23-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan to Rangers.
And, following a summer of negotiations, the clubs finally agreed a fee at the weekend.
Davis had remained in Glasgow to have a medical after playing for Northern Ireland in their 0-0 draw with Scotland and signed a four-year contract.
Fulham confirmed at the weekend that a fee of around £3m had been accepted for the player signed for £1m more from Aston Villa last summer.
Manager Roy Hodgson admitted he was sorry to see Davis go but insisted he could not offer the first-team football that would justify keeping the player at Craven Cottage.
"It was the right move for Steven," he said. "He went to Rangers on loan last season and did extremely well.
"He became a real crowd favourite up there. It was going to be harsh for him to come back here and not be a certain regular.
"I like Steven Davis as a person and a player, but the offer we received from Rangers was a good and correct one that reflected his value.
"Sometimes, you also need to take into account the interests of the player.
"If I'd been able to guarantee him half the first-team games at Fulham, I'd have been tempted to persuade him to stay.
"But I couldn't be sure of doing that and I didn't want to ruin his chances of joining a great club where he's already made a name for himself."
Rangers had already secured the signature of Maurice Edu this week, pending a work permit hearing on Friday, after Toronto's USA midfielder watched his potential new side defeat Hearts 2-0 at Ibrox on Saturday.
They also last week bolstered their midfield with the signing of Pedro Mendes from Portsmouth, while Spanish teenager Aaron arrived on loan this month from Valencia.
It means that Rangers manager Walter Smith has spent about £17.5m this summer following the earlier captures of defender Madjid Bougherra from Charlton and three strikers - Kenny Miller from Derby, Andrius Velicka from Viking Stavanger and Kyle Lafferty from Burnley.
Smith's buying spree had been hastened by the failure to qualify for the Champions League group stages and the departure of defender Carlos Cuellar, last term's player of the season, to Aston Villa for £7.8m.
Davis, who did not play in Fulham's opening Barclays Premier League game away to Hull City, could make his second debut for Rangers in Saturday`s Clydesdale Bank Premier League clash away to Aberdeen.

Andygers, this is a bit off topic, but do you remember Mikhailichenko playing for Rangers in the mid 90's? I know he was one of the few players (after USSR broke up) that actually went to the west and played great. He played for one season at Sampdoria and won the Serie A with them and then went to Rangers and won something like 5 championships with them and 3 cups.

McGregor is a well-regarded Scottish international, and at 12 years younger than Van de Sar, has a lot more years of top class football in front of him.
Rangers coach Walter Smith has dropped McGregor in favour of Neil Alexander for the last two games, amid rumours that Smith was annoyed with McGregor's off-the-field activities, where he is known as a bit of a playboy.
But fellow Scot Alex Ferguson is used to managing previously difficult personalities and would be confident of harnessing McGregor's ability to his advantage.

RANGERS Spanish hitkid Aaron has told Walter Smith he's ready to stake his claim for a first team place.
And the teenage midfielder admits he can't wait to run out and play in front of 50,000 fans at Ibrox after warming the bench in recent weeks.
He said: "It will be an unforgettable moment when I finally run on to the pitch at Ibrox in front of the club's great supporters. I have seen the team win at home and the atmosphere is incredible. I am really looking forward to it.
"It is a dream of mine to play in the first-team at Rangers and even although I am only 19 it would be a fantastic opportunity.

No Cutting Edge
WALTER SMITH believes that his side's lack of decisiveness in the last third of the pitch was one of the reasons St. Mirren managed to beat Rangers for the first time in 22 years at Love Street this afternoon.
The manager was frustrated with the lack opportunities his players created in the first-half and urged them to pick up the tempo during his half-time team talk.
In the end a wonder goal from substitute Stephen McGinn on 76 minutes against the run of play earned the Buddies all three points and Smith was understandably disappointed that could not convert any of the opportunities that fell their way in the second period.
He said: "We had made a decent start to the season up until today but we know that every game we face will be difficult.
"St. Mirren always set themselves out in a very organised manner and they are never the easiest team to break down.
"Today we maybe started the game slowly in terms of getting the ball forward and into the penalty area.
"We kept decent possession of the ball but never really created many clear cut opportunities in the first-half.
"From our own point of view that was disappointing.
"As the game went on we were obviously the team trying to win the game and gaps start to appear.
"That's what happened when St. Mirren scored.
"After that we forced our way forward and were unfortunate not to score but full credit must go to St. Mirren.
"They set their stall out and we were not good enough on the day to break them down."
The latter stages of the match were like the Alamo with Rangers pushing every player forward and St. Mirren doing the opposite by getting every man behind the ball.
Gus McPherson's tactics were frustrating but effective and Smith admits that he expected the Saints to sit deep and let Rangers try to break them down. Saints scamble the ball away
"If I was in Gus' situation I would do exactly the same thing. It's up to us to break teams down and that's a challenge we have to rise to against a lot of teams.
"At half-time today I said we had to pick up the pace of the game, pass quicker and be more decisive in the final third.
"We didn't really do that effectively and that's what cost us."
The gaffer also explained his reason for bringing Allan McGregor back into his starting line-up.
He said: "I feel that Allan is now ready to play again.
He was exceptional for us last season and I was a little bit unfair to him earlier in the season by throwing him straight back in after being out through injury.
"But he is back to full fitness again.
"It's a difficult decision for a manager to make as Neil Alexander has played very well in the games he has come in."
