Ariza Makukula Signs For Bolton Wanderers

Ariza Makukula has joined Bolton Wanderers on loan from Portuguese giants Benfica until the end of the season, a statement from the Lancashire club today confirmed.

The £4.5 million rated striker, who has played for nine clubs in the last ten years, yesterday turned down a move to West Bromwhich Albion, saying, "I went to the club and I didn't like their offer. The coach of the club is nice, the organisation good, but I don't think it is a project for me."

Today though, he was confirmed as the Trotters' second siging of this January's transfer window after the capture of French defender Sebastien Puygrenier form Zenit St-Petersburg, who received international clearance yesterday to make his Bolton debut against Manchester United at the Ree*** Stadium tomorrow.

Congolese-born Makukula also finally received international clearance this evening, and should make his Trotters debut gainst United tomorrow.

Makukula has played four times for Portugal while also winning the Uefa Cup in 2006 while at Sevilla.

i have completely no doubt he is on of the most remarkable talents in spain, but defensive positions usually require a lot more experience to be great, im pretty sure that if he had gotten the chances he is getting now earlier, he would have made the WC squad
