Lucky?? Lucky victory for Madrid! Too bad they don't decide La Liga for goals difference overall otherwise R.Madrid would've lost!

I hope not. Think about this.... There are coaches out there that are Offensive minded (Rijkaard) and there are those that are defensive minded(Capello). In theory a win is a win. Wether it's by 1 goal or 10. So, with that said if you end up with a tie with another team and one happens to play defensively and the other offensively wouldnt you say the right thing to do is to go to the best head to head difference?? I mean, if not that will only encourage managers to just have good offence and not worry too much on the defence. I think this is another reason why the LFP is superior than the rest.

True! But I don't know I still find it weird the way they define La Liga!

I think the reason why people find it "weird" is because the to teams that ended up tie happen to be the two favorites. So of coarse, they are gonna say "but why if Barcelona had a better goal difference". If it was a non fav VS. a fav then it wouldn't be such a big deal. ..... DOnt you think you should move these posts to spanish football???

I think it's better to be decided by head-to-head results because than derby games play a bigger role in the championship. To some fans, winning a derby is as important as winning a championship. This way, at least, there's a reasonable significance added on to it which makes derby matches even more fierce.

The fact you wanted Barcelona to win is obviously the reason you'd prefer the goal-difference, and I'm sure if things were the other way around you wouldn't complain, Calif.

It makes a lot of sense as well, .. if the teams are tied at the top, the only way to truly decide who is better is by looking at their head-to-head results rather than full league statistics.

Also, to call a team of Real Madrids heritage lucky for winning a championship is just.. pathetic. If there is a team in Europe that has nothing beyond them, it is Real Madrid.

Goal difference is better 'cause it makes things more competitive throughout the season! It makes coaches want more offensive power, did any of you guys see the last week of the Dutch Eredvisie? It was exciting to watch PSV try to have a better goal difference then Ajax in the last minutes of the game, they scored goal after goal and finally got the title. For me goal difference makes things more exciting as for head to head there is no need to score goals 'cause you already know you lost, that's wack! But I congratulate Real for their victory, they gave us a hard time in the last few games of the season!

The problem with goal difference being used is that it can lead to accusations of bribery or conspiracy theories.

In the SPL in Scotland, Celtic fans accused Dunfermline of "lying down" to Rangers in their title decider, when Rangers had to win by so many goals to clinch the title (of course, these Celtic fans ingored the fact that Dunfermline hit the bar and the Rangers goalie pulled off a magnificent save while the game was still 0-0.....)

And Hearts fans still say something went on when Celtic beat St Mirren on the last day of the season by the 5 clear goals they needed to pip Hearts (this one has a tiny, teeny, incy little bit more credibility as a St Mirren player and well known Celtic fan, Tony Fitzpatrick, celebrated with the Celtic players at the end of the game. Still don't think there was any conspiracy like my fellow Jambos do though....)

At least in these results against each other, there's no question of underhand tactics.........

Or is there....................?

Why should i care how many goals Barcelona scored against Gimnastic or any other cheap team? I only care how they did against Madrid.

After the ass whooping Barca got in the Bernabeu they better stop complaining lol.
