Boavista is a club based in Porto and is the second most popular club in the city, after FC Porto.
Their major accomplishments have been winning the Portuguese league a couple years ago and having reached the semi-finals of the Uefa Cup.
The club/players are commonly referred to "Panteras Negras" due to their mascot, a black panther. Generally you don't find Boavista fans outside Porto or outskirts, i.é., their fan base is essentially concentrated within the city. I don't know the exact number of fans though.
Some football fans consider Boavista to be Portugal's 4 biggest club, although not everyone agrees.
There are 3 top clubs in Portugal: FC Porto, Benfica and Sporting. These have a widespread fan base and are quite a bit more popular than any of the other clubs.

Speaking of Holland and the Olympics, Benfica property Freddy Adu (Now on loan to Monaco) had one of his best games in a 2-2 USA draw against Holland this past weekend. Due to an accumulation of yellow cards, he was sorely missed in USA's 2-1 elimination loss earlier today to Nigeria, which featured Oladapo Olufemi from Boavista.
