3 out 5? You have got to be joking!

Departed was one of the most enjoyable movies in the recent years. I gave it 4 1/2 out of 5.

Anyway, the last movie I watched was.. No Man's Land (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0283509/). 5/5

I watched it a dozen of times, and probably will a dozen more :)

Here's a memorable quote;

Sgt. Marchand: Vous parlez francais?
Serb private: No.
Sgt. Marchand: Do you speak English?
Serb private: Yes.
Sgt. Marchand: We came for people.
Serb private: Yes.
Sgt. Marchand: People between lines.
Serb private: Yes, yes.
Sgt. Marchand: Where are they?
Serb private: Yes, yes, yes.
Sgt. Marchand: Ok, you don't understand a word of what I'm saying, right?
Serb private: Yes.

:D

I recommend to all to see this film

The last movie I watched was Fantastic 4: Rise of the silver surfer. It apsolutely sucked. I mean, no, I don't mind the whole 'saving the World' theme when it's tastefully done but this was just tacky.

You spend so much money on a movie, and you target it for 13-14 year olds? That's just bad production. The movie had no plot twists, nothing to keep you entertained except few visual effects and they didn't do the movie no justice.

I also had a chance to watch Next. Great movie, eventhough the ending wasn't quite satisfying it was very well done.

I really enjoyed The Departed actually which was a surprise to me as I hate De Crapio with a passion. He was very good ... for once. I'd have given it 4/5.

The last movie I saw was 24 Weeks Later. I was a fan of 28 Days Later and thought they'd probably make a mess of the second one but was pleasantly surprised. I'd have given it 4/5 also. Roll on 24 Months Later ;)

Yea it's not a big budget movie and it's British so don't expect any well known stars (although Cillian Murphy, the lead from the first movie, has been in a few movies now such as Batman Begins, Red Eye and Sunshine). The storyline is good and scarily realistic. The Rage Virus is something that actually sounds quite possible

The first movie just surrounds a small group trying to survive in a zombie infested UK the second is set 28 months after the UK is quarantined and the virus has died out (the virus needs the host to feed you see and seeing as everyone is dead there's no one left to feed on so the infected starve lol). An American force arrives to allow the exiled Brits return home ... but of course the virus isn't dead it's just dormant. Robert Carlyle stars in this one and there's none of the original cast.

Anyway, the last movie I saw is 1408.

Great movie, one with a rich story and scares. You know, the kind that aren't made these days? It doesn't splash blood at you, or try too hard to scare you. It does scare you though, trust me, it will have the lady you take to see the movie with in your lap for at least an hour ;)

As I said I enjoyed 28 Weeks later almost as much as 28 Days later. When you compare it to crap like Land of the Dead which was hugely dissapointing when you consider what a good job was done with the remake of Dawn of the Dead.

You mentioned V. I didn't go to the cinema to see that as it had quite a few bad review form people who had seen it. It came out on DVD and I didn't get it because everyone I knew told me how rubbish it was. I ended up giving it a try when it was reduced to Ł5 and I absolutely loved it! The people I then challenged who had said it was crap all admitted they hadn't seen it at the time and were just going by what they heard and had since seen and I rather liked it too .... ARRGGHHHHHH  Excellent movie!

I'd be interested to know that as well. Di Crapio tends to put me off a movie if he's in it. Very over-hyped. Didn't like any of his movies until the Departed and for once I thought he was good.

I watched The Return last night (the Sarah Michelle Gellar movie I bought) and what a pile of complete and utter crap!! One of the worst movies I've ever seen. Depends which accent? If you mean the fake theatrical Hugh Grant type accent then I'm with you it's only no one actually talks like that over here

I went to see Shrek 2 last night and it was rubbish. I liked both of the other movies but the latest incarnation is scraping the bottom of the barrel for new gags. I laughed a couple of times but besides that I wanted to fall asleep. Was very disappointed as I love the previous Shrek movies.

Can't remember if I mentioned it but I also saw Die Hard 4.0 last week. I was rather impressed actually. I still prefer the first movie but the latest one is quite good. Brucey still has it ... whatever that it might be! I was expecting the movie to be poor so was pleasantly surprised.

Quite a few people thought the first F4 movie was poor but I really enjoyed it. Haven't seen the new one but most people I talked to about it were disappointed. I agree with you about Baddies staying bad. There are too many moralistic scripts these days. Everone is too good. Very unrealistic! My favourite character are anti-heroes! It's a John Carpenter 1988 movie and this must be the movie that was the inspiration behind the Duke Nuke Em game because ... well the main character was soooo like him and he also uses the corny one liners such as "I'm here to kick ass and chew bubble gum ... and i'm all out of gum". Yes, I agree. Except the best ghost movie of all time part. I think the best ghost movie of all time is Sixth Sense. However, 1408 is very very good. Although, I don't see it as a scary movie. It's not gore blood smashing flick. It's just a very good story accompined by one of John Cusacks best performances to date.

There is quite a discussion on IMDB about the movie. A lot of people think he's still in the room, because in the last scene with the tape-recorder you can hear his daughter. But the room can only alter reality in somebody's mind so it would be impossible for his daughters voice to be recorded. We already saw an example of this half way through the movie, when he thought he was out.

What do you think?

Well not all the great Horror Classics are really associated with gore. This new generation of Horror is.

I doubt he is still in the room. There is a reason the ending was made out to be as it was. Its part of a great story, the device (Tape Recorder) he has been carrying around to take notes of speech actually prove his story right. And there is a reason why Gerald Olin says 'Well done Mr Enslin' at the ending.

I just watched the Transformers. :Puke:

What a load of crap. Thank you all for making me feel like the biggest geek on the universe while watching this movie. The robot voices, the love for robots, robots love for humans, robot sacrficies, man.. oh man. I don't know what was worse, was it the acting? No, the acting was great but the story elements were just as lame as they can get.

The main two robots were brothers? Jesus.. How the hell do they concieve?

Halfway through the movie, I was actually scoping the theather to see if anybody I know is there so I can hide.

Boycotting all comic-to-big screen adaptions from now on. Except Sin City, I hear sequal is coming soon. Can't wait.

I saw Sicko over the net 2 days ago. It can make you laugh like hell at times and can make you feel unbelievably sad in other scenes. Moore did an amazing job at making this one (Considering the fact that he combined a Funny and Emotional atmosphere in such a movie, making the movie so much better). This movie should be taken seriously by Americans. Very tragic situation down there in matters of Health Care. Makes you happy to be in Europe to say the least...

But.. if you do, don't make the same mistake I did and watch it with the geeky types. You know what this movie is to them? Crack.

And you know man.. You don't want to deal with no geeks on crack. :)

I'd agree about Sixth Sense being the best ghost movie although 1408 isn't out over here yet. I was never a fan of John Cusack until Identity. Then I saw him in Runaway Jury and liked him in that too.

Identity was an excellent movie, but the plot didn't do it no justice. You know, with all the movie being somebodies imagination. Kind of blew it

Have you watched Ice Harvest?
Good movie, another great performance by Cusack.

Oh man, that line just doesn't work with the ladies. I understand though that at your age you crave a thicker skin, but come on.. she was a lot, lot prettier when she was younger.

Anyway, I watched Gattaca in school, and it was good. I liked it, though I found the movie too.. unlikely to happen. They'd have to bury every single human right in the World, to the point that we're not seen as humans but as material products, for that movie to realize.

I just watched Bourne Ultimatum. Great movie, I advise all to watch it.

Definitly better than the first two. It's an intelligent action movie, the kind you don't see these days. One of the best movies this year. Jason Bourne is the James Bond of our time. :)

Did I praise it enough?

I feel I should've praised it more. :)

Watch it, you will not be dissapointed. I sure hope the other directors take a tip from this movie, and make more like it.

Jason Bourne is the James Bond of our time. :)

I know that many likes to compare the Bourne movies with James Bond but i don't think that's fair. The Characters are very different. Bond has his bikinibabes, kills with a smile on his face, drinks martinis and base's his ideal in the 60's. Only Mike Myers with his Austin Powers character can spin forward with that "category".

Jason Bourne has a bad conscience over the ones he kills, he has a depth and are constantly searching for his past and mourns his love of the life.

However i'm very excited about the new Bourne movie, it seems like a very good one. :)

Haha, okay Vic.

That is not exactly what I'm talking about. As time changes, our views, our struggles and what we find exciting changes. It is why I said Bourne is Bond of 'our time'. A lot of people, including me, will say that James Bond just isn't 'it' anymore. Just as Super-man isn't, and Spider-man is. You see what I mean?

The characters are of course different. But in an essence that Bourne is more fitting with todays society. They're both assassins, both fighting bad guys, and both in action movies. But that what was cool than is not cool now. Moviegoers today prefer a more intelligent script like for example.. seeing a guy who is having struggle with killing people (eventhough he has to) rather than watching a guy who kills with a smile. Audience today, in my opinion, --including myself, prefer a hero they can connect with.. not a hero that's indestructable.

Now I'm not saying that in the era of Super Mans and Bonds, people didn't like to connect with the hero, it's just that it was cool back than. However, that era has run its course, we got tired of it. We want to see something different. Movies like Bourne is the anwer.

For those reasons I said Bourne is the Bond of today, I was not comparing their characters.

You don't find James Bond movies exciting today, just funny. It is why movies like Austin Powers or Johnny English are made. :)

Yeah man i agree, afterall it seems that we have the same taste of how movies should be done. I prefer the more psychological action movies then the unrealistic ones like Bond for example.

I heard that Butterfly 2 has come out, but I probably won't watch it. It's a completely different and new cast, and the story is supposebly a lot more shallow than the first. I don't want to risk it.

Yeah i've seen the show and Kelso isn't the smartest guy to be honest

However i think Ashton Kutcher has shown that he's up for more serious roles, he was brilliant in the Butterfly Effect if you ask me but he was even better in The Guardian.

But i can understand you with the fact that he plays an absolute dork in That 70's Show and roles like that can really haunt him. His credibility in other roles might sink.

I never watched The Guardian, I am biased against that movie genre. It's usually filled with cliche lines such as 'Be all you can be!' and a hard ass mentor who, no matter what the student does, does not approve. Maybe even twist the movie by introducing a love interest for the hero, which might jeapordize everything. Probably some fortunate ending with again cliches that most likely rewards the student with some experience or maturity.. or the approval of the teacher. I'm just tired of those movies.

I'd rather watch Remember The Titans for a 100th time.

Actually, I kind of wished they didn't do the 8th season at all. It sucked after Ashton Kutcher and Topher Grace left. They were the reason I watched the show, they were the main characters in my opinion. The complete opposites. I could only sit through first 4 episodes of the last season, than I just waited for the re-runs. Hyde and Fez were always supportive characters, they simply couldn't carry the show and the new introductions just didn't do the sit-com no justice.

I watched Edison on DVD last night with Morgan Freeman, Kevin Spacey, LL Cool J and um.... Justin Timberlake!!

Really good movie. Good guy takes on the corrupt cops sort of thing. Morg and Spacey were as great as ever and have to say LL Cool J is pretty damn good. I'd seen him in SWAT before this and he's not bad at all. I'm not really a Timberlake fan and he was ok in this but his character was a bit crap. I'd also have liked to see a few twists and a few good guys getting knocked off just to make it a bit more realistic but all the good guys took on the baddies and won blah blah.

Talking about The Messengers, Dylan McDermott was also in this movie. He played one of the bad cops and was really good. Scary in a nut job sort of way!

And finally ... I decided to do an imdb.com check on LL Cool J to see what he's been in that i might have seen and was surprised to see that he was in The Hard Way back in 1991. Not sure if anyone remembers that it was a light hearted cop movie with James Woods as the tough cop and Michael J Fox as the actor learning how to be a cop. Funny movie bit LLCJ must have been pretty young.
