Huge signing....:smoking:

I have always been against signing starts in their last years of their career. But considering how RC has played this season for real i know that he will make Fenerbahce a better team.

But most importantly....noone can complain about us not having a good left back. We now have signed one of the best in the world.

But this signing is not only for a better fenerbahce it will also improve our league because a lot of fans all over the world will follow Carlos career in Türkiye.

He will most likely have a huge paycheck but considering he came as a free agaet and knowing that he will sell a lot of jerseys we will come out as the winning part once again.

He could have gone to other big clubs in europe....but he chose my Fenerbahce.

Huge signing...

Im not really sure for how many players he is manager today, and how good they are. I didnt even know about him being manager to Carlos until i read in Bosnian newspapers.

I know in the past he was manager of Baljic and Bolic, and that famous transfer of Baljic from Fener to Real Madrid.

For sure i know he is a manager of this guy Marciano (Brazilian) who he got from Brazil year ago and he is playing in FK Sarajevo wich are BIH champions, he is the best player of the league, and he will leave the club probably for Bundesliga. He is not that good for Fener :) !

Good luck,

Roberto Carlos????? What are Fener thinking? The guy is 34! Man U are buying 18 & 19 year old superstar potential, we are buying 34 year olds. How do Fener expect to compete in Europe? Are they aiming simply to win the TSL every year because that's lame!

Fener should be beyond the point where they are getting players who are past their sell by date. The man barely played for R.Madrid this year. The fact he didn't arrive last year annoyed me, but what worries me the most is, who of our current foreigners will they sell to make room for this guy?

Deivid I hope because Edu & Lugano are both better then Carlos at the moment!

I just can't believe this. I have been taking the piss out of Galatasaray & Fatih Terim for playing Hakan 'I'm an old man playing football' Sukur, and now we will have our own zimmer player on our grounds in a couple of years.

el Turco
06-06-2007, 08:27 PM
Im sorry if i am disrespecting you, but are you out of your mind?????

34 years old Roberto Carlos is better than any left-backs in the league, and still better than most of the left-backs in Europe. Dont forget, he is still the fastest guy in Real Madrid. Same things were said when Hooijdonk came. Do you remember how good he played?

R. Carlos has at least 2-3 years left in him. He also has a lot of experience in the European Cups. We needed someone like him in order to succeed in Europe.

Who will leave? My first guess would be Deivid. But the limit on number of foreign players might be increased, so he might not even have to leave.

Fenerliyim
06-06-2007, 08:45 PM
Cafu still plays for Milan if i'm not mistaken and hes just as old. Carlos is still considered one of the top LB in the game, thats y RM tried to resign him thats y chelsea wanted him thats y many top teams still want him. And dont worry about the foriegner limit seeing as that will be lifted soon.

Fener4Life
06-06-2007, 08:51 PM
I hope he does play well for us, really, I do. I'm just worried. He didn't play much at R. Madrid. Some players fizzle out at this age. Some obviously don't and I really hope he's one. I just wish we got a young player who is well known instead.

We probably won't be making any more foreign transfers now. Can you honestly see Fener doing any better than last year in Europe with this squad? I hate to be the one to say this, but I don't.

Seriously.....what the hell are you talking about. Are you having a bad day or are you always like this?

It's Roberto Carlos we are talking about not any player of the street.

The guy is having an awesome season with Real Madrid and he has saved Real's ass with his last minute goals.

You have to be really dumb to compare Hakan Sükür with Roberto Carlos. Carlos is playing in the starting line up in of the best teams in the world and in the best league in the world. He has to defend against the best players in the world. On the other side you have hakan sükür who cant score against crappy turkish teams. Comparing them is committing a suicide.

And lastly....who the hell do you think you are bashing one of the biggest legends in football history and not finding him suitable for a team like Fenerbahce who doesnt have a single succes in europe.

I dont know how old you are but i have been around long enough to endure supposed "stars" like Kostadinov, Kenneth Andersson, Revivo, atkinson, Gerson, Pringel.....and you dont like Roberto Carlos. That's fukking insane...

Milan won the Champions league with 39-year old Maldini and 37-year old Cafu, and you dont like a 34 year old Roberto Carlos....get a life!

34-year old Inzaghi scored the both goals of the c.l. final....

You guys need to calm down. I'm merely stating the obvious. I'm sick of Fener getting knocked out of the group stages of the champions league. It's bloody embarressing!

I just think, if Fener have the cash, the supporters, the quality ground and an overall great infustructure, they should be doing better than signing Real Madrid 'hand me downs'!

I want my team to perform, and I just don't think this is a step in the wrong direction. All have a go at me for wanting more from my team.

P.S. Comparing Hakan Sukur to him wasn't about their footballing abilities, I was mentioning their ages. In football, if you've hit 35, that's it & I don't care what anyone says. 35 and it's all over! Players at A.C. Milan are their for a reason, they are still performing at the highest level and A.C. don't want to lose them. Hakan Sukur is at Galatasaray because they are shit and so are they so they are a good match but Roberto Carlos is now at Fener because he wasn't required a Real. He wasn't good enough basically, so why is he good enough for Fener? I wan't Fener to be as good as Real so they should be signing up and coming stars not almost has beens.

hmm well first off man utd and fenerbahce arent the same, they have actually done something in Europe. All clubs start at the bottom and work their way up no one starts at the top. But i agree we must make the CL next year and qualify out of the CL group stage.

Does anyone know that if u lose in the first knockout round of the CL if u still get sent to the UEFA CUP?

We need a new playmaker, Alex is out. He's burnt-out, I don't think he has anything left to give Fenerbahce.

man we defintely need a new foward to help Kezman, i mean we need to start playing with two fowards seeing as neither of our strikers can play by themselves.

And Semih is just a substitute and not fit to be a starter especially if we want success in europe

@Fenerliyim
No only the 3rd place in the group stage enter the Uefa Cup which makes up 32 teams at that point, i think its 1st or 2 round they enter, but not in CL group stage

Personally i think theres a coup good year left in Carlos and that hes coming on free transfer makes it a bargain no matter his paycheck, hes got the same aggressive play like Cafu and hes 36-37 old and still a a solid player even though hes more of a sub at his club now. But u guys definetly need a new striker if u shud have a chance getting thru the group stage or maybe even qualify as theres the possibility of drawing teams live liverpool or Real Madrid. I think uve gotten to little out of Kezman or Anelka, scoring around 10-12 goals in the turkish league buy those is far to low considering what u gave for them and their payment considering the amount kezman made in PSV and the dutch league is pretty much in same level as the turkish. Even though hes dropped down in level after his psv time hes still a young player

I think Semih has a potential to be as good as Tuncay (maybe even better) he just needs the opportunity. How many times has he saved a game?

Alex though, he's turned into a ghost. If we want success in Europe, we need a more involved playmaker.

I think Fenerbahçe not only lowers itself but also lowers the Turkish Leauge's class by throwing away money for that 34 year old living. At real, Fenerbahçe's board is made up of a bunch of money lords who have no idea about football itself which we call in beautiful Turkish "sonradangörme."

Fenerbahçe, as the richest Turkish footbal club, must give absolute 100% importance on youth academy instead of transferring old players with popularity for big bucks.

Still around dealing out little insolent side blows, huh? Whatever... 6S didn't sign him, we did! And polat can now have fun with his posters.

If all players who are on their way to retire were in that shape, i wouldn't mind to have more "pensioners" in the team...

Oookay lol. Is Carlos a male? Yes. Is he little? Last time I checked, yes. Is he rich? Well yes! Meaning that he possibly has a rich ass and you know the usage of "... ass" in popular culture very well I'm sure.
His situation at Fenerbahçe is quite predictable. He's the biggest transfer of the club like the time Galatasaray signed Hagi and him and Popescu thought what? Yea we could retire in here, that's a common footballer mentality. Carlos is a man of a lot of success and money. He probably has done everything he set himself out to do why wouldn't he just wanna have that mediatic fun? His character is suitable for that he's a happy and funny guy. Not to mention his South American blood.
So that was the explaination of my sentence. I think you are automatically getting the words which came out of me as negative things while I'm being neutral.

Her zaman söylüyorum. Futbolu Fenerbahçe'de bırakacağım ama, burada antrenör olarak devam edeceğim" diye konuştu.

In the latest in a series of uefa.com readers' Q&As with Europe's top names, Fenerbahçe SK full-back Roberto Carlos discusses his side's chances against Sevilla FC in the UEFA Champions League, why he plays with a smile on his face, and that free-kick.

What do you think of Fenerbahçe's chances against Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League?
Gökhan Atsiz, Turkey

Roberto Carlos: We do have a chance – it would have been worse to be drawn against AC Milan, for example. Sevilla are favourites, but we can go through if we manage to get a good result at home. We need to win 2-0 at least. If we get past Sevilla, it will depend on the draw whether there's a chance of making the semi-finals.

How many more years of football do you think you have in you?
Ali Khosroshahi

Roberto Carlos: I want to play for two more years here in Turkey and then that will be it.

What made you leave FC Internazionale Milano after just one season? Was it because you felt Italian football didn't suit your style of play?
Ram M, New York

Roberto Carlos: We had an English coach who wanted me to play as a winger. I didn't want to play that way, I wanted to play as a left-back because of the Brazil team. It had nothing to do with style or anything like that.

What is your favourite place in Istanbul?
Halil Salepcí, Ankara, Turkey

Roberto Carlos: It is called Reina. It is a restaurant and disco on the Bosphorus.

I think you should play for Brazil again – they need you, and you're still playing at a high level. What do you think?
Robert

Roberto Carlos: If Brazil still need me, I am ready. But if I was asked, I would say I would like to play tournaments, but not friendly games any more. I never had any holidays because of that and right now I'm enjoying the free time when there are gaps in the league programme.

Who is the best player you have ever played with?
Hamit Kurek

Roberto Carlos: The best I've played against is Luís Figo. As for team-mates, it has to be Zinédine Zidane. He made things easier for everybody.

What is it like to play under Zico and Fabio Capello?
Toshiki

Roberto Carlos: Zico is less tactical – he gives the players more freedom. He likes well-played football.

What do you think of the Galatasaray-Fenerbahçe derbies?
Baz

Roberto Carlos: I put them at the same level as Real Madrid v Barcelona. The rivalry is even bigger. These are great games to play in.

Did the opportunity to play with fellow Brazilians Alex, Aurélio, Deivid, Edu and coach Zico influence your decision to play in Turkey?
Mike, New York

Roberto Carlos: Yes, that was very important. I don't know if I would have come if there weren't so many Brazilians. Not only because of their nationality, but because of the quality of the players.

How do you rate Turkish football after playing in Spain, and are you happy in Turkey?
Sonny, Brisbane, Australia

Roberto Carlos: I am very happy, yes. Look, the clubs are at the same level, and Fenerbahçe's structure is amazing. But then the football is less attacking and there are fewer good teams in our league than in Spain.

What do you consider to be the highlight of your career?
Lonki, South Africa

Roberto Carlos: The year 2002, when I won the Champions League and the World Cup. I think I should have won the Ballon d'Or or FIFA World Player of the Year award that year!

How did you end up playing left-back? Was it originally a coach's decision or the position you feel most comfortable in? Have you always played that position?
Binah, Santa Cruz, California

Roberto Carlos: It was a coach called Adaílton Ladeira who first asked me to play as left-back in 1988. I was a left-winger, but our left-back was injured at União São João, my first club, and he asked me to fill in. I said "no problem", and I've played there ever since.

In the 2002 Champions League final against Bayer 04 Leverkusen, you did a great job to get to Solari's pass and dart down the line. When you crossed the ball did you expect anything to happen remotely close to Zidane's spectacular left-foot volley to score, or were you as surprised as every spectator?
Daniel Senderowicz, Berkeley, California

Roberto Carlos: No, I didn't expect that. I knew he would hit the ball, but not in that magnificent way. The cross was wonderful too, wasn't it?

What was the most important goal of your career?
Arturo Bass, Mexico

Roberto Carlos: I think it was that curling free-kick in 1997 against France. That image went to every corner of the planet and it was good for me. It wasn't an important game, but that goal was huge for my image.

Roberto, you are the player that inspired me to play more and more of this beautiful game and I have one simple question: what's the secret to your smiling face, game in and game out?
Your left-back apprentice, David Bibic

Roberto Carlos: You know what, lots of people are bothered by how I am. They think I'm arrogant! That is the way I am – I'm a very happy man and I love to make people happy. I hope you do the same in life. Remember to always smile.

At the end of your football career, will you go into coaching and which league would you like to work in?
Bigday Momoh, Nigeria

Roberto Carlos: Yes, I want to become a coach after I retire. I don't know where, though. Let's see who makes the first job offer. I don't have any preference.

Obviously our doctors have misdiagnosed Carlos as well. Carlos went to Brazil to get examined by the doctors there and apparently Carlos is going to be out for 3 months but since his body is really strong he could be back quicker.

Zare
04-16-2008, 06:49 PM
a cut to a leg? how do you misdiagnose that? most likely what you will see is bruising in the lower region no matter where the injury to the leg occurred. blood pooling will happen, due to a beautiful thing called gravity. there is usually pain involved, and this can range from a month to 2 months. you will likely use muscle relaxers, a hot / cold program, take mild/warm baths, and then massage therapy. even if we would go to the maximum, and say there was a stress fracture, this heals by itself, and is accompanied by how much muscle mass you have around the bone. The muscle obviously was torn, so the body promotes growth in the muscles in the beginning stages, and then will turn to fill in the fracture. there is no pain from stress fractures, and so it would take 2-3 months to heal, and this is what it sounds like the Brazilian doctors have found. i mean how dumb are our doctors, if they cant spot a hairline crack in a bone. I just don't get how they can be so stupid.

Fenerliyim
04-16-2008, 07:53 PM
Roberto Carlos, daha önce France Football dergisine yaptığı açıklamada, Sevilla maçının hemen ardından kendisine verilen ilaçların yanlış olduğunun anlaşıldığını ve bu nedenle de sakalığının beklenenden uzun sürdüğünü söylemişti.

Wow are doctors gave him the wrong medicine right after the Sevilla match and thats y its taken him so long to come back.

Honestly A.Yildirim has to do something about this Carlos + Appiah are huge assets to this team. We dont have the luxary to lose them to misdiagnosis. Serdar + Deniz also were misdiagnosed.

well if you give antibiotics, anything really with an illin at the end of it, with an open wound, it will likely make things worse. sounds like this is what they did, because when you do this, it makes the area inflamed even more, so there was probably more blood pooling then there should have been. and it usually takes 2-3 months regardless. but still they shouldn't be giving medications at all. i wonder where these guys got their pHDs at, we should really have MDs under our belts though...

wouldnt blame him at all, the fields in turkey are horrendous, the refs are of no quality, im a state ref for ussf, and the first things you learn in basic trainings are how to hold your flag. they cant even hold it in the correct hand, they always hold it in the "right hand." next time you watch, the flag must be clearly visible towards the center ref, so it should usually be in the left hand in most cases. the positioning on all ref's parts are horrible. especially on corner kicks, especially the asst ref, they go in front of the corner flag, you never do that. you stand snug with it (behind it). its pretty weird but as a asst ref on the sides, you can use both eyes separately, its astonishing i dont know how it happens but it does. and the offside calls, when the ball is going to a goalie, out of bounds, or if the player does not touch the ball, you do not call it. the point of the game is to keep the game going, not to stop it, for unruly calls. then dont get me started on how to call games as a center, in the epl, the refs are amazing. when games are open, less challenges occur, so when they do happen, its a 1 on 1 set, and you call on the strength of the foul. but you usually call the slightest of fouls. but when the game is close contact, you assume play, and call only the roughest of fouls, and these games tend to see yellows for that hard contact, and to settle the players down a bit as well. i mean these are basic things that these refs do not get. its the concept of the match. its almost identical to a game of chess, with amazing tactics and player-player abilities.

then back to field conditions... do not get me started on this, i have seen college fields played harder on, and in tip top conditions. they do not have good grounds keepers or something. or they do not understand the basic ideas of aeration of the ground and top soil. im happy to see kayseri go on, because they deserve to get a spot in uefa cup if they beat GB. they are building a new stadium which will come with new grass and bringing a better feel of the game in all for turkey. I also hope to see some better pattern designs from the top 3, something you see in the bundesliga is amazing.

grass is expensive and to keep up with it as well is on a different level. but i mean these players are getting millions, id rather see millions given to the guy the puts a design on the field. i would love to see FENERBAHCE across that whole field. or the emblem in the middle, with a wave spreading out from the middle.

but with zico staying, i think rc will stay as well, and most likely turn into a coach for fenerbahce. i think he likes istanbul a lot, just had wished he didnt have to go through mistakes from some sports and science majors. i really cant believe teams / companies pick up these majors. they do not have the full on capability of a scientist / researcher / doctor on how to problem solve. they do not get thinking outside the box, and what is actually occurring at the molecular level. they get the picture on a bigger scale, but what actually happens is all biochemistry and physical chemistry and maybe some advanced organic as well.

some other info, its amazing on how some things in research get stopped... because of big business. i was working on hydrogels for a long time, which at first i was protecting fruits and vegetables from rotting. and this spray i created was of a hydrogel concentration, which soaks up any outside water in the atmosphere. you tend to see fruit / veggies spoil when you wash them and let them sit there. well this thing let food stay fresh for months on end, it was amazing. then i got this idea to use it for nose bleeds, because i read where people get them in the front portion of their nose, and takes 2-3 months to cover a gash the size of a mm, because of how much water moisture goes through your nostrils. the people talked to used, vaseline which helped on somewhat of a level. but when they used my hydrogel, it fully stopped it, and let the cut heal in less than a day. so i used it for bigger cuts, which helped heal and close it, with no scars in less than a week or so. you can buy patches of hydrogels, but they work on a total different level, as it is still a solid base, which can be very expensive. but the point of my story is, theres shit that happens in this world that some people want to happen, and some things they dont want to happen. my patent was shut down, because they said i did not fill out proper paper work to do tests of humans. sad part was i filled it out but it was incomplete, and takes a long time to get that stuff through (2 years of my life) went to shit because i forgot to mark one stupid box.

i dont know if the care was given through that acibadem hospital deal or what, but if it was, they got some pretty messed up doctors that have no idea what they are doing. because if you play games on a person like roberto carlos, truth be told, i have no idea what they would do to a regular person.

He has a new interview on uefa.com . Its great, has some really great advice in the end. Especially Turkish players should watch that.

Carlos is planning to stay with Fenerbahce after he retires, to be some sort of representative and convince future talents to join Fenerbahce

Yeah man,

Carlos is not only [still] a great player, but a man of his word. He kept his promise and joined Fenerbahce, and know he's saying he wants to be a FB representative.

Class act in the football world.

LoL I know, cuz this season, he hasn't really done anything on the pitch to impress me.

Did you watch the Bursa match? There were times I thought there were three of him on the pitch at once.

One second he's doing rear defence, the next he's flanking the wing and the next he's cutting midfield. He was everywhere! :faint2:

Deivid's goal was Roberto's assist. The guy did a 180 degree swing to pass the ball from left wing.

Of course - we would like to see this frequently and not in patches. :D

I thought he was ok against the away match with Arsenal until he subbed himself out. People were talking like Wederson was so much better than Ugur during Wederson's injury forgetting the fact that we were all badmouthing him while Carlos was injured cause his performance was unbearable. We had a Wederson - Ugur duo on the left wing towards the end of the season and it sucked so much. We need Carlos in this team until a new left winger is transferred because everyone knows Ugur is inconsistent and Wederson is just average.

I dont think he has made a major impact since signing as well.

Still scored a beatiful goal today, can't beleive the Ankaraspor defence left him so free and almost scored from a free kick as well which hit both the right and left post's while Lugano just tapped it in.

Roberto dosent really care about doing good as much these days. He is in Turkey simply for the pay checks. Also you have to remember he isnt 25 anymore. His best days are past him.

Yeah, that's why he said that he wants to continue being a part of FB after he retires.

Well, we're just gonna have to wait until he retires to see if he's true to his word, just like how he was true to his word when he said that he promised FB he would join them, even when "bigger" clubs were after him.

Dont pay him and see how long he stays around. He would head back to Brazil or maybe even Spain.

Well, you're not saying anything out of the ordinary,,,,, OF COURSE whichever club he is at is going to pay him.

"Kewell is only at GS cuz GS is paying him"

"Lugano is only at FB cuz FB is paying him"

etc.......

LoL,,, WHAT'S your arguement????

The argument is..... You claiming he is going to stay after his playing days and take a position with the club right?? Iam saying yeah off course he would stay and take a position with the club, "because" they would be paying him!!! So in otherwords the only reason he would stay in turkey and with the club is not because He loves it over his homeland or even spain were he spend his better playing day, but because yes they naturally would be paying him. " off course you go and play were they pay you, that was not the point, the point is why would he still stay in turkey with the club after he reitres and the answer is a easy one,,, MOney!!

Yeah they did but it was only for 1 year, where as if he went to another club like Fener he could play there until he was 50 years old and they would still keep him. THe choice to move on was not a difficult one for Roberto Carlos.
