Umit is lucky guy, not many players get a goodbye game like he did. And he scored in his last match, got the trophy, got a standing ovation. I even got tears in my eyes. We will miss u BUYUK KAPTAN

Yeah, Umit was good for certain things but in the end, he's not the guy to be the leader of a club that wants serious success in Europe. He's good for a provincial team not good enough for a world team. So if Fener wants to inch closer to becoming a world team they had to lose him. It was sad but tmie to move on.

Big LOL to you… Köln is 2nd division at the moment but everything else then a "provincial" team: 35 years non-stop Bundesliga, Uefa Cup finalist, 3 x German champion, 4 x DBF Cup winner. Players like Klaus Allofs, Hässler, Ilgner, Littbarski, Overath, Polster, Bernd Schuster and Toni Schumacher have been with this team.

When Umit was paired with Fathi as centre defenders we were rock solid at the back. Although he is a rightfooter he was moved to left fullback as he was the best Daum had to choose from or could buy.
But being out of position didn`t stop him getting picked for the national team as a LEFTBACK & a lot of Tuncay`s best work has been after linking up with Umit going down the left side.
I think his best position would be in defensive midfield.

THEN SOMEONE WHO CAN NOT TELL IF A PLAYER IS LEFT OR RIGHT FOOTED & BEING PLAYED OUT OF POSITION SAYS HE IS NOT THAT GOOD KNOWS LITTLE ABOUT FOOTBALL
