Jardel have give a clear sign that he's no true Brazilian, I haven't ever seen a Brazilian striker who's only speciality is heading, and I can't understand why the coach choosen him in a team which include no good crossing players. Although the whole national team sucked in the match against Mexico, I can say easily that Jardel should never play with the NT again. He's simply club material.

i think he's a pretty good player. i don't think its any fluke that he scores better than a goal a game at club level. he's a bit like the brazilian inzaghi. he hangs around the box looking for scraps and puts the garbage goals away. is that necessarily a bad thing ?? as long as he puts the ball in the back of the net, who cares how he does it ? he knows how to score and score often which is what brazil can't seem to do at the moment.

he's certinaly better than that joker giovanni elber who couldn't hit an open barn door if he was 2 yards out.

Jardel's record for FC Porto and Galatasaray, particularly in European matches has been outstanding. Consistently scoring against top class defences in Europe year in year out can be no fluke. Perhaps he is not suited to the national team's style of play. But you would think his aerial power would give Brasil (a badly needed!) extra dimension.

The problem is, Jardel's style of play needs a team working FOR him, and the guys who cross the ball to him have to know how he moves, which is hard in the national team, since we never have time to actually TRAIN the squad: If the match is on wednesday, the players arrive monday. Who has time to make a team mesh?
So the Brazilian squad is a loosely-arranged band of individual club stars who barely know each other. The multitude of quality players available for most positions also is counterproductive, as any mistake a player makes may have him removed and substituted by someone else, who will not be allowed to fail either. Is this a mess? Yes! Welcome to Brazilian soccer: Lotsa young talent, all run by morons.
