I've just installed Windows Vista on my system, and I got to tell you.. It's pretty sweet. It's not even that expensive, you can get Basic Home for less than $100. The best thing about it is that you can use most of the Windows XP applications on it.

Here's a few screenshot from my computer.

Did anybody else upgrade? Are you thinking about upgrading?

I'm uninstalling Vista, (I'm currently on my second PC). It's pretty nice, and I love it but my games are running terribly with Vista (Champions League 06/07 and Fifa 07 :D )

This uninstalling is a pain in the ass, eventhough I installed Vista on a secondary HD. It alters the boot sector, which means if I just erase Vista.. I won't be able to boot into Windows XP. So now, I have to re-install Windows XP, and than format my second HD which will erase Vista.

They say curiousity killed the cat, and.. in this case, my curiousity is causing me 4 hours of unneccessary work. :(

This is not a beta. It has been released, it's just that Vista runs on so much physical memory that you need at least 1 GB of RAM, and at least 256 MB RAM of Graphics. I have exacly half that - 512 MB RAM. Anyway, my Windows XP runs a lot smoother now than before due to the format of HD and brand new install.

I have 2 gig ram, dual core and 256 mb geforce 7800 and on mine games were slugish. Unless you really have to have the latest and greatest hold off until it matures a bit.

yea its never ever good to buy the first release of a microsoft product. Especially windows! I used windows 98 until XP SP2 came out just because I knew there would be all kinds of ridiculous bullshit that came along with it if I did upgrade.

Word of the wise: Wait atleast 1 maybe even 2 service packs before buying a new microsoft operating system.

3GB RAM, NVIDIA GeForce 7150M Shared UMA, 2GHZ AMD Turion Athlon Dual-Core Mobile Processor, 120GB HDD @5400 RPM, and Windows Vista Home Premium with SP1 and my 1 1/2 month old HP Pavillion Laptop is still running great. I just wish I had more HDD space, I think I am going to be buying an external HDD for when I go to college though.

VISTA= A++, if you can at least double the requirements!
