http://www.mediotiempo.com/images/noticias/51487.jpg

http://www.mediotiempo.com/images/noticias/58912.jpg

It doesn't surprise me the whippin Cruz Azul gave them. But I really do believe that in due time CONCACAF Champions League will be as great as UEFA's or Copa Libertadores. I don't expect this in 5 or 6 years. I think that in 10 -15 years CONCACAF will be so exciting that teams from north america won't even need to compete in CONMEBOL competitions and vice versa. I think this is a big step in the right direction. You still have good teams like Saprissa, Olympia, Communicaciones teams that can compete with mexican and U.S. teams. In due time guys in due time.

I am fan from Montreal. We will welcome Atlante FC this coming Wednesday for the Concacaf Champions League. Montreal Impact is a huge underdog in that competition. Is Atlante going to use many starters for the game? I doubt as they play tomorrow in their national league. Are they taking the game seriously? For sure, Montreal will be sending all of his starters. To give you an idea of Montreal Impact....even if they play in the North American second division, I'd say they can beat most of the MLS teams. Montreal has the only natural grass field in Canada and playing in a brand new stadium of 13 000 seats. Montreal does surprise in the competition so far. Even if they do not possess the ball control and speed level as the latin american teams, they largely compensate by being much more taller and physical....especially their defensemen.
By the way, tell Atlante to bring over gloves. It's going to be cold...7-10C:lol:

Montreal Impact are doing pretty well so far. We got 4 points out of 2 games and are currently on first place. And we tied Atlante who are a very difficult team. I'm still pissed that Toronto FC lost the Canadian Championship though...

I tell you I simply couldnt stomach watching Concacaf champions league matches. Just doesnt get worse than that. This and the Ocean group pitful to watch. I think the only person that would even consider watching are those from the teams that are in it. If even that.:lol:

CONCACAF Champions League™ Format
Eight clubs (MEX1, MEX2, USA1, USA2, CRC1, GUA1, HON1, SLV1) will be seeded directly to the Group Stage of the CONCACAF Champions League™. The sixteen remaining teams will be paired in eight home-and-away match-ups in the Preliminary Stage which will take place on 26-28 August 2008 and 2-4 September 2008.
The Preliminary Stage winners will join the eight seeded teams in the Group Stage that consists of four groups of four teams each. The teams in each group will play each other in a round-robin system during six match dates (three home games, three away games) from 16 September 2008 – 30 October 2008.
The top two clubs from each of the four groups will advance to the Quarterfinals of the CONCACAF Champions League. These eight teams will be drawn into four Quarterfinal pairings to play home-and-away match-ups in February 2009. The four Quarterfinal winners will then play in two Semifinal home-and-away match-ups in March and April 2009 with the two Semifinal winners squaring-off in the home-and-away 2008-2009 CONCACAF Champions League™ Final in late April 2009.
The CONCACAF Champions League™ winner will qualify as the CONCACAF representative to the 2009 edition of the FIFA Club World Cup.
