Hi i wanted to know what you pleople think of your goalkeeper, i saw some highlights of the game against turkey and some other game and it looks like he isn't doing well at all, he also looks kinda old (no offense btw, i'd like to know his age sorry if i'm mistaken), i wanted to know if he is your starting keeper or if he is just a sub, i'd also like to know what are your thoughts on his current level, thanks in advance :D

Nikopolidis is 36 years old and as his latest performances indicate, his reflexes are affected by the aging lately.
He is still our first goalkeeper, not a sub. If you want my opinion, after these performances he has to quit from the national team if he has guts. It is time to develop a new goalkeeper for the national team's first eleven.

Nikopolidis is the goalkepper for Olympiakos and allowed 2 terrible goals this year in the Greek league.
This goal he allowed was against AEK on the road which ended in a 3-3 tie:

This other goal he allowed against Kalamaria on the road which ended in a 2-1road win for Olympiakos:

But he recently called up a goalie from OFI (Crete) for the next Euro 2008 qualifying game and started another goalie in the Malta game so Nikopolidis' days as a starting goalie appear to be over.

THANK GOD!!! Nikopolidis was and EMBARASSMENT in the Turkey match! He should resign just on playing like that in Athens, the day before Greece's Independance Day against the decendants of the people we got our freedom from! ABSOLUTE EMBARASSMENT!!!!!!!!!!:mad2:

From years ago I was saying that Sifakis must be the next goalkeeper of the national team. He has the negative that he is not good in calculating and he makes many false enters to the field, is stable as a goalkeeper in general. His negative is improvable with work.

isn't he like a hero from the time you won the euro? he may be a little bad now but i think he'll still be a historical player!
EDIT: oh wait the hero was giannakopulos right? or something like that :/ meh i've got a really bad memory :P

No doubt that Nikopolidis is a historical player for Greek football as he was the basic goalkeeper of the Greek national team in Euro 2004.
Pele and Maradona are also historical players, are they able to enter the field and play? I think you see what I mean.
