Sporting Lisbon have told skysports.com that it would take €20million (£13.5million) to secure their starlet Nani, amid claims that Tottenham had expressed an interest.

The 20-year-old forward is likened to Cristiano Ronaldo - and the Manchester United ace has admitted he would love Nani to follow him to Old Trafford.

Indeed, The Red Devils are one of the clubs who have been showing a keen interest for a number of months, as have Premiership rivals Chelsea.

Spurs, though, are the latest club to look at Nani - but reports suggest that they would be unwilling to offer more than €10million (£6.7million).

"The club that wants the kid have a price, €20million, only by this money would we be disposed to let Nani leave," a Sporting spokesman confirmed to skysports.com.

"We know of the interest of several English clubs for Nani, and that is normal because of his quality - but until this moment we have received no offer in writing."

Nani's agent Jorge Mendes admits there is a great deal of interest in Nani.

"The decision depends on Sporting because the player has a deal," Mendes told skysports.com.

"But Nani is a player of enormous potential and other big clubs have asked about his situation."

Nani's current deal with Sporting is due to expire next year.

A lot of interest being shown in him now....

First time I heard Chelsea may be interested.

He does has talent, but I fear he is being over hyped. He is no where near C. Ronaldo, Quaresma or even Moutinho at the moment. He may turn out to be world class, but quite frankly, I think it's too early to say.

He played the last 10 minutes of the match against Belgium today. Didn't have too much time to prove anything although he did have a good play towards the end of the match.

Sporting Lisbon starlet Nani wants to follow in Cristiano Ronaldo's footsteps and join Manchester United.

Nani, who has been likened to United star Ronaldo, will snub interest from clubs across Europe in order to achieve his dream move to Old Trafford.

Sir Alex Ferguson is an admirer of the 20-year-old and is thought to be ready to trigger a £17.5million clause in Nani's contract.

Nani came through the same youth system as Ronaldo at Sporting and wants to join his friend in the Premiership.

The Portuguese youngster is determined to make the move to United and has snubbed the opportunity to sign for Atletico Madrid.

"I'll only leave Portugal to play for a club like United," Nani told the Daily Mirror.

"The Premiership is spectacular and to be the next Cristiano would be a dream."

Well he's been linked for a while with Utd but this is the first report to suggest there is some definate interest. He's not the same standard as Ronaldo but looks like he has great potential.

It's official. He's now signed for United along with Anderson and Hargreaves!

Yeah, let's see how how does at ManU. He's still quite young, but has gone far in terms of skill. He does have talent. On Saturday, he scored his first goal against Belgium for the Portuguese NT.

Anderson is the most promising Brazilian youngster out there today. He's a thrill to watch and brings excitement to the game. Some consider him the next Ronaldo (the Brazilian one). I was dissapointed when I first heard he would be leaving FC Porto...

News is that Porto might be signing Rossi on loan as Fergie apparently has agreed with Porto that they can have first option on loaning players due to the Ansderson deal. course that could just be a rumour ;)

Yeah, I haven't heard that actually. Well, I've had PC problems for over a week and haven't been watching TV either. I kinda became a hermit for a while.

That would be nice to get Rossi and the $$. I would still prefer to keep Anderson though...

How do you think ManU will do next season?
