I still don't know how they won Euro2004.

One thing I know about Greece is that they are great in defence.

Why does it matter how its won? I mean it will only matter if your not Greek! greece is a defensive team and from what i know every defensive team is kinda boring but boy do they do great....

I would rather win ugly than lose pretty. Winning is the cake. Everything else is icing. Those who say that Greece won ugly only say so because they can't stand the fact that Greece won the EuroCup AND it also make themselves feel better by thinking of a way to discredit Greece's EuroTitle by saying they won with an "ugly defense".

I can understand certain teams' fans that say that Greece won ugly if those teams won titles AND played pretty and would rather not see defense. But, to hear it from teams' fans whose teams NEVER won a title should not lecture on how to win a title if those teams and their fans have NEVER experienced it like Greece and its worldwide fans did 2 1/2 years ago. Its about winning for the self and not trying to impress other fans.

Even Brazil gets criticized for winning WC's and even if Greece won the Euro 2004 playing pretty, Greece would STILL be criticized for other reasons regardless. Heck, some still believe that Euro 2004 was won by Greece because it was set up that way as a means of promoting the Athens 2004 Olympics which is absurd. This corroborates what I mentioned earlier about certain individuals trying to discredit Greece's EuroCup to make themselves feel better due to their contempt of Greece and this is one example.

The people of FYROM (Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia) are another example. Their fanatic nationalists claim that because of a ridiculous claim that since half of Greece's players came from Greek Macedonia and whose ancestors are actually "Macedonian" Slavs :lol: who were brainwashed by the Greek government into thinking they were Greek, therefore, Greece should give half of the trophy to FYROM!!!:rolleyes: They also made the same claim when Greece won Eurobasket 2005 and the silver medal in FIBA WC 2006 (where Greece defeated USA in the semis) where half of the Greek players came from Greek Macedonia as well. All this out of sheer bitterness! :boo:

Getting back to the topic, Italy won the WC 2006 the same way (defense) although they have world class players and better strikers.

But that is why the "boring defensive" teams are the CURRENT Euro AND World Cup champs. But Greece got criticized alot more than Italy because they are not a world-class team like Italy. Unfortunately, its more about WHO wins a title rather HOW a team wins a title. If Greece won a title playing offense and Brazil won a title playing defense, Greece would get criticized more because they are not a name compared to Brazil.

this is the first time in a looooong time i have seen u post this good of a post bro.

No ones takin ur win away from u, its just that when watching the Euro i want to stay entertained not fall asleep. For u guys it was probably very exciting to watch ur country, that cant be said for the rest of the world.

Italia's games were exciting not a borefest cause they have a quality attack.

I'm just saying i wish u guys had won in a more entertaining way.

The tactic Italy used in the WC was much more boring than the tactic Greece used in Euro 2004. But they are still Champions of the World and we are Champions of Europe.

THE Best Euro 2004 FINAL,that would not be defensive or booring in anyway to anyone, should have been BETWEEN the CZECH REPUBLIC and HOLLAND i think...

Portugal didnt really deserved to be in the final either because of their 1st terrible round performance...

Greece was supposed to say goodbye in the france game, however if not there then The Czech republic was defently the favourite team to go through... So
