I know there are many, many Frank Lampard knockers in here, but he just scored his 20th goal of the season for Chelsea. He has now done this for the past 3 seasons in a top notch league from a midfield position. That commands huge respect in anybodies book. Well done Frank!

What do the rest of you think?

He's rubbish! haha...just kidding. I don't mind him, I think he's a great player, without him Chelsea would be out of the FA Cup and probably the CL also.

His only crime is that he didn't perform for England in Euro 2004 and WC 2006. He was way off the boil. I am not a huge fan, I just think he deserves big respect. I think he would go well in Serie A. His game is well suited to do well there.

I'm not sure how good he would do in Serie A. I doubt he'd ever leave England because he doesn't look like someone whos good outside at change (atleast a major one like moving to Italia).

I honestly don't mind the guy. The team I can't stand, but the guy is a good sterdy player who seems to always perform well.

He does well for Chelsea but he's poor at international level although I think that is part of the team not playing as a team rather than him being poor. Not sure how he'd do abroad but it's all just media talk of him leaving at the moment. I don't expect he'll leave Chelsea.

Think he's not having as good a season as the previous two, mainly due to the introduction of Ballack which pushed him out of position. I think he'd have much more goals by this point if he had stayed attacking mid, rather than reverting to centre to allow ballack to play there... Mourinho should have Ballack playing centre. Lampard would well be on par with Ronaldo for goals if he was in his position.

Ok where do you get that???
Honestly i don't think he's going anywhere at the moment why would he? He's had great seasons at chelsea and he's like the driving force that keep the team together.
As long as Maurihno is still at Chelsea i don't think Lampard will go anywhere.

Well there's a lot of talk in the UK of a Fifa rule that allows him to move because of the length of years he's been at Chelsea. He can buy our his contract for a nominal fee and move where he wants but he's said today that isn't going to happen.

i have a problem with him because people compare him to Gerrard and that is just too dumb for words, also his goal against barca in the champions league was a fluke

But you can't deny he's a great player for Chelsea and has been more successful in the Premiership than Gerrard. I'd prefer Gerrard if I had to pick a player but Lampard is still a great player.

I agree, alot of players in England don't reach their potential when their playing for the NT, mainly due to the team's play. But his performances for Chelsea are of remarkable level and takes quite some skill from a player.

I read an article yesterday Lampard saying he would stay with Chelsea and is very pleased at the club, not even thinking about leaving.

Although with the English media you can never be 100% certain of some sources. Personally I don't see him leaving either.

 wow

I don't like the guy much, I think he is a nut, very loose in the head. One thing is though, you can't say he is trash. The guy is a good player for Chelsea, and maybe their most valuable. If he isn't scoring the goal there's always a good chance that his pass led to the goal and you usually can't measure with numbers what that does or how much it means to a club.

Sad, even though I was SO furious with Chelsea (what can I say? I hate losing), but I'm glad Lampard didn't get hurt.

I don't believe anything I read from the english media  They talk bull 99.999999% of the time! This buy out clause thing has been discovered by someone so the story surfaces he'll leave but I doubt he will. The story is just BS though.

I wasn't happy with Chelsea winning either but idiots like that fan need to be sorted out. Spurs will get fined for not controlling their fans but I don't think it's possible for the stewards to be everwhere. You'll always get isolated cases like this and if he's a Spurs fan then he just cost his club a lot of money. I'd say that pretty much means he can't be a real fan! I was pleased to see the Chelsea players grab the fan and give him a few subtle knocks. The idiot needed a good beating!

If his shooting for England at the WC was half as good as it is for Chelsea, England would probably have gone all the way - undeservingly, of course. Frightening thought really.

 i agree but its hard to see him doing that because he has better team mates in Chelsea than in England NT. Without those other great players that made up Chelsea even Lampard in his full potential can't do much!!

Well to be fair his supply isn't the problem. In an England shirt he's still had plenty of chances to score but doesn't put them away. You can't blame his misses on his teammates

Well, i guess he lacks the motivation when playing for England while with Chelsea he got plenty from Maurinho & his teammates. It sad really!!

I am not sure why he doesn't perform that well with the NT.

He showed great promise for us in 04, even 05.

I especially remember a match against Azerbaijan where he supplied a beautiful long ball to Beckham who scored.

It was either him or Gerrard that scored the second, but he did have a nice effort.

He did score against Poland, I am sure of that one because I was at the match.

That was probably the two greatest performances I can recall of England in recent times.

Granted, we did not dominate Azerbaijan OR Poland goal-wise, but our passing and communication was tops.

The intelligence of the players was superb (Beckham receiving his final yellow card on purpose after becoming injured so that he could have his suspension while injured...)
