It was said today that the delegates for the English leagues have put forth a motion so that in all fixtures between English clubs (outside of League games) are going to head start to a shootout instead on ending in a draw and having a replay later.
What do you think of this?

Well it's the football league not the Premiership so would only affect the Championship, League one and League two. To be honest I don't think it will happen there would be too much opposition. It's a stupid idea!

I agree, but I also thought they were trying to force it upon the FA Cup and Carling Cup? Maybe I was wrong by that...

Well not at the moment but I suppose if it was popular in the Championship
L1&2 then they might consider it. I just can't see it happening in any league to be honest!

Man I hope not, I think shootouts almost ruin the game...if anything we need LESS of them..

I watched MLS when it started up in the mid 90's and it was a joke. I mean not to the Americans obviously but to someone who had watched European football most of his life. They also had some crazy rule about only having so many second to touch the ball after the penalty award and you could dribble it or move the ball from the pen spot as long as you shot before the time limit was up

America's attempt to make the game "viewer friendly".
Haha, I may be an American, but i will say it's annoying having to watch games on the internet because their rarely is a game on the tele...
I'M MOVING TO ENGLAND! (I hope) lol

Anyone notice how the proposal is supposed to discourage teams playing for a draw (as if anyone ever played for a draw as opposed to being happy with a draw if they were unable to win) yet gives (the same) 1 point for a draw as now and a bonus point for winning the shoot-out?
How does that discourage 'playing for a draw' if the reward is the same or even greater?
A possible 2 points for drawing...that's an even greater reward and, therefore, greater 'incentive' to draw isn't it?

The whole proposal and idea are rediculous. Leave football alone!
