I totally understand what you are saying.....however, no team has the same 11 starters for any extended period of time. The core of the jr team will probably play together for a long time, but there inevitably will be some older stars, aswell as new found talent which will always accompany the team.
What would help the jrs most is winning.....building confidence, knowing that they could beat anybody. If I were coach, I would bring 3 of the proven stars atleast to sit on the bench. Simic is an incredible player, Gazetto dello Sport placed him in their "ideal 11" after the last world cup!
I would love to see Prosinecki lead this team to gold. Yeah, he can't run a marathon, but I feel sorry for the way he was treated in France.....if you looked closely after he scored the goal against Holland, he was giving a glare to Ciro ( trying to say - what the hell were you keeping me on the bench for? ) All of the players who were celebrating with him were laughing in agreement. If there is anything which the jr team can use, it is the play-making brilliance that Robbie brings. A victory like this would really be great for Robbie, and at the same time, shove it up Ciro's ass pretty bad.

Nothing could soothe missing Euro like a victory at the Olympics this Septmber. Three players above age 23 will be able to accompany the team (should they finish top 4 in Euro jr). The jr team has beaten everybody they've played recently and have some of the most promising young players in the world, including a superstar goalie (finally), Stipe Pletikosa.
Would Prosinecki go to Sydney if asked? He says he would be happy to play as long as Ciro wasn't there. Susak is jr coach, and a play making genius like Robbie would compliment that team perfectly. Which three seniors would you select?

Well, missing Euro 2000 was very disappointing for the Croatians. It would be great for them if they won in September like you said.

You, fascist pussies finished third in the world cup, and now you're going to win Gold in Sydney. I wish serbs were more like you, we can never win anything.

Football in the Olympics is extremely important as it draws the hugest crowds of any olympic event and showcases the best young soocer teams in the world.

I'm not really that worried though, I'm hoping there will be some Balkan Cups or other "top" competitions for Yugoslavia to play in. Until then, I guess I'll have to just watch Yugo choke in an early round once again at Euro.

Finishing 3rd in the world soothes me just fine for about the next decade, not that you would know the feeling.

You should be proud going from third in the world to third in your qualification group for Euro2000!!. That shows just how lucky you were at the World Cup.

So, Mr. "Referee" (Grobar, or any other), how about the first sentence in Mihajlo's post?

Did he not click "agree" while registering? One of the sentences that we all agreed on says: "You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this BB to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening,...."

So what kind of a forum is this? Should I go on asking him "how many innocent Cro/Bosnian/Albanian children did you slaughter today?" (and doing the same after each expression of Euro2000 hopes by some Yugo fan) or what?

Be free to act against this message of mine after you do accordingly with Mihajlo's.

Hey, Vatreni, you do not have many info from your homeland, do you?

The question of Prosinecki has not been put to Blazevic for some time already. It's because Prosinecki is out of form for some time and he probably won't be his old self any more. (String of injuries, constant back problems,.... a bit of "gemišti", too,...) :(

What I said was true not false, clear facts, how can facts provoke people. They were third in the world and fell to third in their qualification group for Euro2000 thats all I said, I never knew facts aren't allowed on this forum??

Purger: You'll have to excuse Govnar, he suffers from "Serbian inferiority complex", after losing Krajina, Bosna, Kosovo, and soon Crna Gora......tying a world class squad like Croatia is a monumental accomplishment for Yugo. Don't forget this is a nation which has historically celebrated any big defeat, yes, it is sad, but nothing you should be upset about.
As for Robbie, I realize that he suffers from certain chronic injuries....However, his play making ability is still world class. He is the best player in our home league (that speaks for itself). Had Ciro played him instead of Maric against France, we surely would have done better. On the jr team, we have loads of energy, magical feet like Robbie's are hard to find......he is my first pick.

Croatia has a very good chance of winning the olympics. It's a great youth team that is well rounded. Every position is strong and I think they will win both Euro and the olympics.

The olympics will be a little more complicated though, since there will be 3 overaged players on all the teams. It'll be intersting to see who goes from each country.

Since this is in fact composing of the next Croatian team (i.e. for the next 10 years), I'm strongly against going to Sydney (if we qualify) with three over-30-super-stars (some suggested Suker, Boban, Jarni, Stimac,...) It should be three players 24 or 25 years old, the ones that will play with these guys in our first team in the years to come. Dario Simic should be one. Others? Maybe Rukavina, maybe Bule,...

If the jrs go to Sydney, there will probably be huge crowds at their games considering how many Croats are in Australia. How big do you consider an Olympic Gold medal in the soccer world? And, what chance does Croatia have?

The way tickets were allocated here in sydney you would be lucky to get one croatian at any of your matches....unless tickets were purchased overseas. :p
