Inter to dump Adriano

Inter will reportedly sell Adriano at the end of the season after growing tired of his late night partying.

Numerous stories in Italy on Friday claim that Inter and Adriano have reached the point of no return after the latest bust-up between the club and player.

The Brazilian had looked to be at his best once again after he ended a nine-month goal drought before the Christmas break, just weeks after the Nerazzurri gave him a week off to recuperate in his homeland.

However, problems seem to have re-emerged between both parties after he was excluded from the Champions League clash with Valencia on Wednesday.

“Adriano didn’t feature because he wasn’t 100 per cent fit,” explained boss Roberto Mancini. “He was in no condition to play an entire game.”

Whispers in Italy allege that the real reason behind his snubbing was because the former Parma youngster had not recovered from his 25th birthday celebrations three days earlier.

Adriano is no stranger to this kind of Milan nightlife controversy, but Il Corriere dello Sport suggests that Inter have now had enough.

Although chief Massimo Moratti denied that Adriano would be fined for his latest misdemeanour, the paper insists the international will be hit in the pocket.

Now it is understood that Moratti is ready to sell the Emperor at the end of the season, possibly in a swap deal with Real Madrid’s Antonio Cassano.

The Nerazzurri are also being linked with moves for Cristiano Ronaldo of Manchester United and Lionel Messi of Barcelona.

..THis guy is pushing his luck...i know his stupid it's obvious but his discipline is way over the roof...what's wrong with him...he got some of his old form and instead of regaining all of it he goes and puke on everything....who gives a damn if it was his birthday celebratiuon...i knew that something was wrong when he didnt played in the match against VALENCIA...his atitude is just frustrating...and im sick of his crap...:mad2:...the team gave him more chanses than he deserves...if he dont put his shit together he should be sold and end up this ridiculous parody...no one behaves like this continualy...it's just getting stupid...if he wants to party he can do that but in another team not Inter...that wont be tollerated i know that...he can go in PSG and repeat the Ronaldinho stuff...

Inter to punish Adriano

Inter chief Massimo Moratti has confirmed that the club will discipline Adriano for his late night partying over the weekend.

The player was excluded from the Champions League tie with Valencia on Wednesday as a result of his 25th birthday party celebrations three days earlier, an incident which has again raised question marks over his future.

“I haven’t seen Sky’s footage of Adriano partying,” said Moratti on Friday afternoon. “You journalists always know more about it than me...

“Adriano will be punished, but in any case there is a group of people here at the club who take care of these things. We will see.”

The latest reports in Italy have suggested that Inter are tired of the player’s lack of discipline and are ready to sell Adriano at the end of the season.

“How many times have you heard this kind of news? Saturday was his birthday and he had a right to celebrate, although unfortunately he partied a little too hard,” added the oil tycoon.

“As I said, there are officials at the club who deal with these issues.

“We are not going to condemn him forever, but we want to put him in a position which will allow him to be more aware of his actions in the future.”

After the goalless draw with Valencia, some have suggested that elimination from the Champions League might diminish the value of Inter’s likely Scudetto.

“I don’t think this is true. By the way, we still haven’t won the Scudetto, so we have to fight for that first,” he added.

“These are two different competitions. Let’s start by winning one of them, then we will see what happens in the other one.”

who do think would inter would want to sell him to or rather who would want to buy him. wel from what i have heard ManU is a interested, and inter might want to sell him there as an incentive for c.ronaldo........

I dont think by anyhow that Sir Alex would sell C.Ronaldo.. I mean he is old and Giorgio hates him, but he is not stupid.
I think If we sold Adriano.. we should give him to Chelsea or Barca... and then we can get in return someone like Drogba :D, Eto  or Messi?

Obviously I would keep him.

He and Ibra are both young and have the potential to form the best striking partnership on the planet. I think he just needs to be given one last chance. It is very frustrating I admit that, especially as he was getting so close to redeeming himself on the pitch, but I could never forgive Moratti and Mancini if he was sold and then fulfilled his potential as one of the best strikers in the world elsewhere. Henry is a declining force now. Arsenal play better football without him. Drogba will never leave Chelsea. Eto'o? He is someone who could fit in well here. But I know in my heart of hearts Adriano has the ability to eclipse him.......

Adriano has to play well from here on out in order for Inter to get anything substantial in return! And if he plays well, none of us will want to sell him anymore. I say just keep him until he proves to be a disruption to the team's harmony or until we are finally ready to give up on his talent.

I am for keeping Adriano. That was his birthday! He had a good excuse, football players in italy are treated like slaves, although they earn a lot but still, I would not sell him just because of such incident... And even if you look on alternatives, there aren't that many! good forwards or even forwards with potential are almost non existent.

Let's stick to him and finally stop from turning inter into oriental mall (bazaar)...

Yeah it's his birthday but he's a professional athlete that earns an impressive salary. He's expected to treat his body like a temple and not get wasted. Helenio Herrera, Inter's legendary manager, refused to even let his players drink alcohol or smoke period. :p So Moratti is not being THAT hard on him. :D Adriano is a player of great potential for Inter, he just needs some discipline and direction. So I wouldn't target Eto'o or Drogba. C.Ronaldo is a superb talent that I'd love to welcome but Ferguson would be on crack to sell him now. Ronaldo also seems to have good things going for him in Man U.

Robiho would be nice, but he should work out to built some muscles.. it`s the serie A man!

As for the main topic, Im afraid that If we are going to keep Adriano, we will make him take the Recoba road.. yes we will ruin his career..
Probably Mr Moratti is going to spend some hundered millions to buy a surprise next season.. it`s Inter`s 100 years celebration and this man is really reeeally generous, I even cant put aside the possibilty of Ronaldinho or Drogba`s departure.. and For Adriano, they guy will have a mission impossible with the current performance to keep up and to take the first position.. I think Adriano is even more inconsistent than Recoba, he needs to leave Inter as soon as possible, I dont think niether Inter nor Adriano is gona has benefit from the Adriano`s presence.

Yup, he'd be a great replacement for Figo, assuming Mancini would use him properly.

Hey, just in case Adriano continues to break all our hearts and never rediscover his glorious talent, I've found out a bit more about this new phenom that Inter have in the youth system, Mario Balotelli Barwuah. His biological parents are Ghanian, but he was born and raised in Italy and adopted as a baby by an Italian family. According to his wikipedia biography (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mario_Balotelli_Barwuah), he stands 1.89 meters (just like Adriano) and has tons of speed. He's 16 years old and has been scoring a goal a game at the Allievi Nazionale level and has more recently been playing with the Primavera. Inter had to fight off the likes of Barcelona (with whom he had a successful trial) and Fiorentina to sign this kid and supposedly the Italian press has talked about him quite often...maybe Laury knows some more about him? Anyway, perhaps he can become the complete striker we're looking for? He also has this official website: http://www.mariobalotelli.it.

Yeah, both Adriano and the basketball player said it was no big deal, so I choose to believe them. It's a shame that Adriano always has to go these clubs, but it's his life. I believe they said similar things about Ronaldinho's personal life when he was at PSG, yet it was probably overblown and he became the world's best player at Barcelona. At this point, I have no idea how Adriano will play on the field, but it'd be sad to force him out of Inter because of off-field incidents that don't seem that bad.

I think that's an old picture, so let's just hope he's kicked the habit. Or maybe it was a fake cigarette ;). I'm trying my best to be naive, but top athletes don't really need to be smoking since it's not exactly conducive to their profession. There was a nasty rumour back in January that Coco, when on trial at Man City, had taken out a cigarette on the training grounds and that was the reason the club terminated his trial so quickly. Everyone denied it of course.

update from Channel4:

Inter striker Adriano is not leaving the San Siro next year, declared his agent Gilmar Rinaldi after speculation over his future.

The Brazilian was recently linked with a move to Fiorentina in a possible swap deal with Luca Toni, but a number of Spanish sides were also allegedly monitoring his situation closely, with Barcelona and Real Madrid in pole position.

“It is impossible that Adriano will join Fiorentina,” said Rinaldi to Mediaset. “He is an Inter player, 100 per cent.

“I was in Milan two weeks ago and I spoke to the Nerazzurri management. They count on Adriano for the next season and have no intention of selling him or sending him out on loan,” explained the Emperor’s representative.

“In Italy people talk too much, that is the problem. The future of a champion like Adriano cannot depend on a night in a disco,” concluded Rinaldi.

Inter seemed ready to discuss the player’s sale after he reportedly clashed with an American basketball player in Milan’s trendy Club Hollywood nightspot after the Week 29 win over Ascoli. Both men have since denied there was a physical altercation.

Adriano is not new to this kind of controversy, as he was also temporarily stripped of his first team place after partying too hard before a game to celebrate his birthday.

I am getting tired of him, but still don't want him to leave... Guess Mancini is thinking of Obinna whom we co-own or even own.

Why the hell he does not loan Slavkovski and Co. instead of Adriano? I mean Adriano is not that bad and shall have chances to play, on the other hand he might be disrupting team athmosphere and that's why Mancio wants to get rid of him. Remember how much better Inter became after selling Veron, though he was by far the most creative in midfield. Figo is a special case though, so I might be wrong.

Adriano didn't want a loan move. If the rumors were true, West Ham offered something around 10 mill for a permament move but he didn't want to join them either...can't blame him for that, really...but I don't know what he expects. He's been lost on the pitch for two seasons now, does he expect that teams like Barca or Real want him now? The only big club after him was Milan and they realized it was impossible to get a player from their biggest rivals right now.

So it looks like he's decided to stay. But he better not complain about sitting on the bench in that case, because it's his decision now.

Ryan27
08-31-2007, 06:47 PM
It's possible Inter weren't willing to sell him permanently, at least not for 10 million pounds. A year from now, Cruz and Crespo will be going on 34 and 33 respectively, so holding on to the Brazilian is probably a good idea. Plus, veteran teams are always going to have more injuries, so Adriano will get his chances during a long season. Whether he'll do anything with them is another issue...

Also waiting to see whom Inter drops from the Champions League squad list.

...Inter is nagotiating with Chelsea for a swap deal including Ballack and Adriano...That would an awesome deal...Adriano is not the player like he was before he became an alcoholic and i really wonder why would Mourinho swap Ballack for Adriano...EPL is a diferent dimesnion than Seria A so probably Mourinho has his reasons...
